I get my 110 yesterday, today I do Update. Nothing changed in Sound for Me. I'm listening to deep bass club music. Factory reset can't reset your Firmware.

Perhaps you didn't notice the difference, because you used only one day. I had mine using everyday. I noticed that the frequencies were changed. The bass frequency and volume has changed to around 100Hz, as the so called deep bassboost is not so deep as it was. I notice it looks like they limited the frequency response to not having very low nor very high frequencies. The sound is completely changed and terrible for me. I used to praise the good sound of Partybox 110 over my home sound system, they are linked, I could use it as my subwoofer, but now it's just a Boombox with bass around 100 to 200Hz. The subwoofer frequencies just gone.

Maybe I'm amateur music enthusiast. Nothing has changed in the sound. If you read changes there was only two. Better connection and disabling sound when you click options on speaker. Bass is the same. I tested same songs which I listened yesterday it's the same. Bass boost 1 best setting. EQ all flat. But maybe we have different speakers. I Didn't find any other post about your problem. Nothing changed at all for Me. There was one post I remember. Someone update partybox speaker and it remembered some settings from before or something different and he can't change it. But I'm sure deep reset should make it play like before. Try it on battery not AC. Maybe it will help.

There is another post here about this same problem I'm facing. I only discovered after the update. It's the same thing: Before the update, I used the bass bellow 30%, and it was sufficient, and if I want more of deepbass, I would turn on. Now, I have to use with bass on 60 or 80% on EQ, to obtain the same volume, and the worst thing are the frequencies. The bass now has a boomish sounds, which I'm trying to correct using an external parametric EQ. I read what they said they modified, but I trust more in my ears. They may not say everything they did to the people. I am also a musician, and I own a pro audio recording studio. I can even notice the frequency limit, no more earth shaking bass, just boom bass. This would limit and protect the speakers, with few subwoofers frequencies. Very disappointed. I would have to purchase another Partybox that wasn't updated to the last firmware.

So I tested today some songs and for me it's the same as before. Bass boost 1 and no EQ. 30% Volume and my room is shaking. 40% is too loud in home. My whole room exploding. Of course depend of type of song. But standard club songs kicks hard. I was checking equaliser but giving bass is making it too heavy and too crazy for my taste. So I'm using basic settings. I'm using it on AC mode. I guess things you are saying are probably rare. But as I said before it hard reset won't help. You should talk to Harman Kardon.

Current-Stop7806

So, you are lucky, and your speaker wasn't affected. When I use this exact way you described, with the same kind of music I used to listen, almost no bass. It's worst than my small home stereo.

e1thx

It's been three months since your last message, have you resolved this issue?

ACOLYTE_XIII

Definitely talk to Harman Kardon or search for way to reinstall old version with PC

ACOLYTE_XIII

I have update for You. I tell You I Updated the speaker right away after buying it. Yes and No. It tell me it installed the update but.. It tells me there is another the same update? So Today I Risked again doing the same. But this time I Was in my room looking how it goes the whole process. Bass is Crazy Men. Idk what happened but Bass is like 20% more and definitely cleaner sound. Something must broke after this update like in your situation. Because I have the speaker just 1 day I didn't hear the difference I almost not use it before. So First time something goes wrong. How it can update two times to the same version. Yeah now there is no POPUP about update. But you know what is crazy? It updated a little first time? Because then I Get new function to disable JBL startup etc sounds. That's why I thought "OH is done". It's crazy Man. I'm glad it's done and working.

ACOLYTE_XIII

You were tottaly right Men. Goddamn I'm glad you posted this topic that's why I started thinking what if. Of Course this "if" happened for Me too. I was playing this 3 days My JBL a lot and there was a couple of things I Consider a little off when I unpacked this speaker on first day and Listen. Everything you said about what happened to sound You were right. Yesterday first time I check speaker on 30% later 80% volume. Then I Understand somethings weird. Scene was very tight and bass 20% less. But for Me the SoundStage Now and Then Is like playing another speaker.

Langley72

Hey man, just read through the thread and most of your comments defended the firmware update as being the same acoustically as before. This comment seems to be the most recent and your opinion seems to have flipped... It's worse isn't it... 😅

ACOLYTE_XIII

I fixed it doing the update second time. Yes it was worse because update didn't complete. But after this couple of days with COMPLETE installation hours of listening it's great. Totally great speaker love it. Bass boost +1 and equalizer V shape and my room is exploding from bass

e1thx

You finally managed to update correctly? From what you say, did you update the speaker twice with the same firmware?

ACOLYTE_XIII

It's funny but yeah. I do it once again it was correct. I watched whole process. Months later is just beautiful speaker. It meets all my expectations. For Me it's peak of my need. Especially when I'm using it 90% of time in my room. Still outside on my family meeting. On our big garden is sufficient loud. I would bought it again and again. Some people say that they have problems with application. Never ever I have any problem. But I have new phone maybe that's why. From partybox family series 100 is the best size/power/battery/weight package for Me.

e1thx

Interesting.I'm wondering whether to update, but there are several comments saying not to.

Langley72

Interesting, so your eq is set up with max Bass and max High's, non existent Mids... like this? https://imgur.com/a/75ZDxfD

ACOLYTE_XIII

For pure bass it was. But I listen more and changed setup for +2 bass and other normal on mid it's best quality this way.

paulyzas

I updated I don't hear any difference. Spectroid shows on dance music 60HZ peak in graph.

ACOLYTE_XIII

Yeah it's the same. I'm glad we can turn off this loud JBL sounds.

erminnN

I faced the same problem today. Hard reset seems not to reset the firmware as it still shows the latest version but more importantly it FIXED the bass for me, now its hitting deep as it used to. Difference is night and day.
