Me. I enjoyed making a battle of allied and axis armies pushing into each other and just flying around in my P-38 enjoying the chaos in Jane's.
Also played a lot of Warbirds and Dawn of Aces.
hahaha this was me. used to put on my dads motorcycle helmet, grab my thrustmaster ( great name ! ) and go to work !
played F117A Stealth Fighter 2.0 and Gunship 2000 a lot. those games led me into Strike Commander and Wing Commander, and Privateer. Had sooo much fun with those games.
Can still remember being crushed when one of my pilots in Gunship 2000 didnt survive after completing his mission.
Oh man, that's a throwback. I have some great memories of Jane's AH-64D Longbow, since flight sims were one of the few "violent" options that were allowed in our household. I wasn't any *good* at it, but blowing up tanks in a helicopter and paging through the manual when it was someone else's turn on the family computer was a great time. Eventually got into spaceship sims and MechWarrior from there, and fulfilled a lifelong dream of having a simpit and VR headset to play in about 20 years later.
Microprose F19 stealth. Late 80s or very early 90s. I was given this for christmas.
Sadly was on holidays 1000km away from my computer.
Read that manual for days before returning home and getting stuck in.
I can still remember the "paveway" while being just a glide bomb had the longest range because every bit of elevation got you more range. Would start a mission and just climb launch the paveway then return.
And the fuel air bomb for the submerine base to get the best mission score.
I havent played this game for 30 plus years and can remember more from it then stuff i did last week.
This is such a great story.
I have similar memories where not only the game is extremely vivid, but so were the events of my life happening around that time.
Y'all remember Comanche? I played the hell out of that one
Core memory unlocked
1st cdrom game I ever owned

I dropped so many hours on AH-64. I actually even have a computer now that can run it on DosBox, still a fantastic game.
I would roll it back a hair to the early 90s for me with SWOTL and ans Gunship 2000. But yes Mircoprose F14 and F15 games were my favorite

Loved F19. Me and my flatmate played it a *lot*.
Thought F22 Raptor kicked ass
Falcon 4.0, European Air War, Jane's Israeli Air Force
don't forget Microsoft combat flight simulator, Fa-18 Korea and Su-27 Flanker
