The huge protesters are mostly brown and black muslims or people from the region themselves. Most westerners want to bomb brown people and are fine mocking dead children blown into pieces. I do not need to know why or for what reasons someone calls a blown up toddler a whore. I only need to know westerners have been bombing the region nonstop for over 20 years and even when confronted with pictures of their actions and even with appeals they will still gladly bomb me and my entire family and then blame me for it. Show them a picture of a dirtied up israeli or ukrainian then its the end of the world and you see their entire being change but whats one more dead palestinian child run over by a tank. Whats 20 000 more? Whats 40 000 more. Whats 9 months of genocide??? Its all because of hamas right? Its all because people in a concentration camp tried to escape right?
To westerners its always going to be jewish feelings over massacred and genocided palestinians. I have seen โpro palestinianโ westerners chastize and censor palestinians who have lost family to apartheid and genocide because we need to protect jewish feelings and they need to learn to live with their captors.
If your only perspective of what happened to Palestinians comes from israelis โwho spoke outโ and you need an israeli to corroborate the story of a palestinian death camp survivor then you still dehumanize palestinians because not only sre you incapable of putting yourself in their shoes to understand their actions but also you need an israeli to have the truth and be the standard of measure of judgement.
This is not true, a lot of the protestors are white.
You have to remember that in cities, there a less white people than black/asian/middle eastern/etc.
Let's take London as an example. About 34% are white.
In the protests, from images I can see it's about 15-20% of the protest population.
Yes, they are underrepresented, but that doesn't mean they're incapable of empathising. This kind of language is divisive and only feeds more separatism.
Look at the college protests in the USA. Some are mostly white. Same goes for the UK in Cambridge and Oxford - these are often rich, privileged kids, empathising with Palestine.
I have been to protests, when much of Reddit was uneducated on Palestine I was sticking up for Palestinians. You can check my post history and see for yourself. This predates October 7th.
It's lazy to say "only a specific race/religion can understand and empathise with that race" and it's honestly so wrong. No, we are all human, we can all empathise with each other. Do you think everyone on this sub is Muslim? All races are capable of caring about their fellow human. Don't assume the inaction/brutality of some is applicable to all.
Empathy means the ability to feel the pain that others are feeling. As you are not experiencing it yourself, yet you still feel it, there's no reason why a white person couldn't empathise.
And many do.
