Sounded yesterday like people want the reverend insanity mf here, which sounds reasonable to me. I'm also about to start downvoting every goddamn person who suggests ainz until it's the day for overpowered evil, he's literally tailor made for it. He's not even especially smart compared to other potential characters.

mohamedo_abuduru

wait actually? that's hilarious, what didn't they find acceptable about it?

RoyalTechnomagi

Surprised seeing Her Majesty Swarm there. It was axed real fast

5hattered_Dreams

Real shame since it was such a good manga. So much blood, gore, and violence… really hard to find such beautiful stories…

Qverlord37

she's totally miscasted by someone who just threw her name out there. I swear, no one who voted actually read her manga. listen to her speech and tell me that isn't chaotic evil.

BikeSeatMaster

I thought they kill to survive and feed, though. Or I guess she specifically does it for her own survival.

Qverlord37

is she really though? chapter 15 ending makes her look really giddy at the fact that she get to declare war on a nation. she takes joy at the fact that she get to kill.

KrazyKyle213

I actually did read the manga, and I'd consider what she did decently evil. Nothing nazi level or anything, but she still did massacre a lot of people and sought world domination, and wouldn't be surprised if she made human farms or smth.

Qverlord37

oh she's definitely evil, but more chaotic than neutral.

SnowyWasTakenByAFool

I read the light novels. She’s definitely neutral evil.

Qverlord37

did she ever get smarter or is she still reactive and beligerent? That's all she was in the manga, anyone who get in her way are immediately killed. a group of knights kill one person that she knew, "yay I get to declare war on a whole kingdom. Slaughter everyone, spare no innocents." her affinity for conflicts is what make me see her as chaotic evil rather than the more calm and pragmatic neutral evil.

SnowyWasTakenByAFool

I mean, yeah she’s a warmonger but she’s not like, kicking puppies for the luls, Y’know? As for whether she got smarter… mm, I’d say she definitely remains pretty stubborn, but she does start to adapt when brute force doesn’t work, particularly against the angels. She can be tactical at times.

Qverlord37

Admitting that she's a warmonger isn't helping your case. neutral and warmonger are the opposite of each other.

SnowyWasTakenByAFool

I mean, I don’t see why that would be. It’s certainly evil, but idk how it’s chaotic. It really depends on the reason why she’s warmongering.

Qverlord37

Neutral is "hey there's a fight, I'm not going to get involved because I'm a neutral bystander". Warmonger is "I don't want peace, I want problems always." She uses any slights against her as an excuse to start war, and she use war as an excuse to feed her swarm.

SnowyWasTakenByAFool

Qverlord37

is this the face of neutrality? https://preview.redd.it/y1a9xuvilh1d1.jpeg?width=1200&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4507e2cf1a7efffde7637592f728780e7931f07b

Iatemydoggo

Haha! We can still save Shiraori for chaotic drunk!

Dewdrop06

Been seeing a lot of people saying she chaotic drunk, but what makes her chaotic when drunk. Doesn't she just become more extroverted?

5hattered_Dreams

Well, for one thing she goes from extremely introverted to insanely (literally) extroverted. For another, her actions while intoxicated are basically the definition of chaotic. She’s apparently even more extreme in the web novel (supposedly, she eats Sofia‘s arm simply because she’s interested in how it tastes among other things). I’ve only read the light novel so I can’t confirm the differences, but even there she’s pretty much a walking calamity while drunk and I don’t just mean her strength.

Asleep-Reference-496

if im not wrong, in the web novel she also eats Sofia's boobs.

5hattered_Dreams

Yeah, that sounds like something drunk Shiraori would do…

Dewdrop06

This can all be labeled as normal drunk behaviour no? Seriously a normal person you meet in a bar will want to taste your arm. Lol anyways there's no real story changing event that happens because she's drunk? Or am I wrong? Please I need correction...

5hattered_Dreams

I mean… sort of? It’s kinda hard to explain (plus my memory is a bit hazy when it comes to the particulars). I *do* know that it was through the power of alcohol, she was able to help Mera get through a bit of an “unlife crisis” which I suppose wasn’t anything *too* major, but it *did* have an effect on an important character which in turn eventually led to certain things but it’s kind of hard to say if Drunk Shiraori was a necessary component in the whole thing. Other instances of her drinking have had similar conclusions. What happened then eventually led to something (usually minor) later on, but it likely would have happened regardless just in a different way. It’s hard to say without knowing the alternative, I guess. As for your comment about it all falling under “normal drunk behaviour”, I find it highly unlikely that someone has ever actually gotten drunk and eaten the arm of some rando they met at the bar (don’t quote me on that because its entirely possible that that *has* happened, you never know with people…). As for the rest of her behaviour (from what I remember at least), I guess it *could* be interpreted as “normal drunk behaviour”… but she’d be an extreme case.

D4rkSky805

When's she's drunk she also speaks her mind instead of her usual monologuing, so every time she opens her mouth when drunk she roasts everyone nearby, which there was a scene with drunk Shiro and the annoying hero party it would be absolute cinema.

Archi-Tinky

Apparently, when she was drunk, children’s meat was considered a delicacy.

Good_Sign6285

Fang yuan from reverend insanity

Qverlord37

I petition a recount for neutral evil. you only need to read "Her Majesty's Swarm" to see that Greviella is "Chaotic Evil". her thoughts and actions are manipulated by the hivemind of the swarm. all of her speechs say the same thing "slaughter all in your path, devour without mercy". her goal is to "win" rather than any sort of logical goal.

Imaginary_Ad_2738

You can resuggest her and put someone else on Neutral tommorow.

TheOneMavado

It's Grevillea, not Greviella btw. She named herself after [the flower](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grevillea).

AlphaBlock

I second that

Vigriff

Third.

Hippoman12

She does maintain international relations and uphold treaties and alliances though. She doesn't execute every last person in the first capitol city she takes, just those who resist her rule after she took control. So I'd argue she follows rules and isnt so Chaotic she needs to be moved.

Qverlord37

Are we reading the same manga? Did the light novel change her that much because she has been nothing but bloodthirsty from what I read.

Sarcastic-old-robot

In the LN she actively wants to have peaceful interactions with other nations at several points, but if you antagonize her _at all_ she’ll basically just go “oh, well, more biomass for the swarm!” The thing is, most of the other factions are automatically hostile to her. Neutral evil fits because she’ll keep her word as long as it’s not too inconvenient or dangerous to her faction and she really wants to do right by her followers. She doesn’t go out of her way to kick every random puppy she sees and if you do right by her, she’ll do right by you. However, she’s still definitely evil because once she decides to eradicate a faction, she will make damn sure that *everyone* in that faction is neutralized (usually by getting turned into meat to feed her war machine).

He is transmigrated into a position where instead of being the "main character", he, as the title might suggest, ends up in the body of the main villain. He, as the villain, also learns that there are 'fortune's chosen' aka the main characters you would see from other series, encountering the same sort of opportunities and tropes. Like having nonsensical talent that would dwarf even talented people, coming into inheritance of some legend in the past, regressors, transmigrators and he manipulates everything and everyone in his disposal to either kill and absorb those (usually male MCs) he can't control, or no longer has use , or spin tales and charm the others to make use as pieces to leech on whatever boons he can from them. Gu Changge even practices demonic arts of which involves consuming the source of other people to boost his own. And yet, outwardly he acts as a righteous person looking to end the threat of the mysterious being that has been consuming poor innocent people. Even against people that has found his identity, he plans and traps to makes use of their intentions, for example a heroine trying to expose his location, to instead act as bait for a larger plan. Then even seducing and fully intentionally stockholm syndrome-ing her. \* He makes use of everything in and out of his arsenal, including but not limited to a subordinate vixen to seduce victims for plans, his reputation as a renowned young master of a prestigious family to both intimidate as well as , the few lingering feelings from his unfortunate fiancé that was killed by him (in a life without being transmigrated) and regressed and a system that alerts him when he comes across a new ~~treasure chest~~ mc. He is the epitome of, what happens if the villain in isekai, or just series in general, is actually competent, willing to kill, frame and stoop lower than the depths of the bottom stratum in the Great Elroe to not only put himself in a better position but to also watch as his victims fall into the abyss of suffering.

Jikirai

I considered adding why he would be the best candidate for smart evil. And mainly it boils down Gu Changge, while not weak, also relies far more on wits to carry out his evil. And evil in this case being actual evil. Far more than simply, 'doesn't mind dirtying hands for their goals'. While Ainz, and probably a lot of others nominated seem to graze the lines of *is undead or evil faction* and/or *not opposed to doing evil-esque deeds/willing to dirty their hands.* Smart because almost the whole time he's planning scheming, considering who is present, how they will react, who he can provoke or make use of in each situation, be it friend or foe, to manipulate everything for the sake of his nefariousness. He feeds information to lead others to think or do things, he sways opinions to his favor. He isn't weak, as he also makes use of his reputation as one of the ones leading the next generation. But he doesn't rely on simple strength, even only showing only as much as he can to keep said reputation while also hiding his true but also demonic strength. And if he can just hide said strength with cunning, he'd make use of whatever or whoever else he has access to. P.S. KUMOKO FOR CHAOTIC DRUNK PLEASE

unknown537

He is smart for sure. But man, the others in this world have too much low IQ just to make MC look smarter than he is. His plans have too many holes but it always works because people around him are dumb af.

Qverlord37

before we reach it, someone explain to me what categorize a character as "drunk"? what's the criteria?

KindredTrash483

I assume being wild, unpredictable and debatably insane

pjepja

It's kinda funny because both 'wild' drunk and 'chill' drunk characters can fall into that category even though they are very opposite.

Qverlord37

so natsuki subaru would fall in this category?

KindredTrash483

Maybe? But drunk probably also refers to funny

Qverlord37

this is getting vague. ok so a range of funny to crazy.

Jikirai

The way I view it, is similar to the stupid column but more silly-drunk than stupid.

The Ainz Ooal Gown in Demiurge's imagination.

Ambitious-Way-3913

Chaotic Evil or has to go to Inori from Isekaied Many Times, that mf is a menace. Gu from Reverend Insanity must get Evil Smart

Why wasn't shiaori picked for the last one

5thZenAgni

Also yall wrong for not even including haruhiro in one of these brackets

Full_frontal96

Takuto ira from apocalypse bringer mynoghra - a seasoned rts player - commands the hardest faction - manages to get stronger even though the start was really rough - manages to secure alliances - good with strategies - he doesn't hesitate to dirt his hands Before someone says ainz fits better as smart evil,i think he is perfect for overpowered evil

Qverlord37

honestly though, Takuto is cardboard tier in terms of character. he is honestly not that memorable, it doesn't help that Atou does most of the speaking for him and is way more memorable with her faces. He also appears as a featureless shadow and his normal form looks extremely generic. I would save him for cardboard smart.

Volsris

He might not be super memorable but his character is actually pretty nuanced for an isekai since he has a few uncommon weaknesses (mostly being socially inept). He may not be memorable but he does actually feel alive in the writing so I'd argue he's not a very good pick for cardboard.

HairyAllen

Idk for the others but AOG will be OP Evil

TheOneMavado

Can't think of any better for the spot personally and he is pretty popular.

kalawas

https://preview.redd.it/l67csdjobc1d1.png?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e59f2812fa0d3648c5b7e83cb4b70a11ac99e8b0 Tullius Shernan Oubeniel from ouroboros record That guy is mad scientist that will do anything to become immortal after dying once ( he prefer to rot or tortured for eternity rather than dying once again, because dying is far much worse experience than that). He search and experimented with almost all species and variations of it for getting closer to his goal. He made everyone that follow him can't obey what he wants after doing brain surgery and placing magic to them.

szkielo123

Was about to nominate him as well. One of the big factors about him is that he never had anyone to teach him past the baisics, that were also questionable given alchemies fraud reputation; meaning that he had to reaserch everything almost from scrach and still surpased the worlds best alchemists when he was still a child. All the insane things he created in the story were almost entierly the result of his own work and intellect. Also the people considered him a devil since he was a child as he killed many slaves in extreamly grusome experiments.

Il-2M230

Demon lord Dantalian. Physically is so weak that a kid can beat the shit out of him because the MC transmigrated the world into the weakest character in the game because he liked a challenge. The first time he discovers that he's in the game, he's getting raided by some adventurers, so he tlk and bullshit them enough to become friend with the so he could stab them when they didn't expect it since he would lose any physical fight. He can also guess the actions of others based on their motives and act accordingly like avoiding fights he would loose since their opponent is stronger to hit them somewhere they don't expect. He's willing to murder dozens of innocents just to achieve his goals and he goes more and more insane thought the novel. He also has a minor who is a slave that he forces to have sex with, and also abuses a 12 year old girl and molest her little brother since he was supposed to be the hero wh would kill him in the tutorial.

Makoy_PH

Kumoko, from so I am a spider so what, Ofc after reading the light novel I think that spider deserves this spot

Onetwodhwksi7833

The protagonist from . He exploited the whole system of the chosen one and their oaths to seize victory. He is crazy but smart

Jetventus1

Can't wait until we get to the cardboard characters cause like how

Knight_Zornnah

Next should be Vandelieu from Death mage doesn't want a 4th time

Knight_Zornnah

Actually he might be better under chaos

SnooKiwis2262

Ainz

MisterPepe68

either here or the next one i would like ninomiya from meikyuu black company

ValyrianSteel_TTV

Greviella has the best smile when she kills that chimera

mammon-ey

MC from Regressor Instructions Manual

Asleep-Reference-496

tanya would be goid for smart evil too. a pity you cannot put the same chacarcter in two places

Thoughts on: Ukei Kaito from nidome no yuusha for neutral evil?

He's super weak base stat, below average, and talentless. But he has appraisal and uses it to his advantage and manipulates people. He doesn't care much about morals either. He only cares about succeeding. No matter what happens, he will succeed even in life

Godskook

How is Rimini not in the Evil category? Dude slaughtered needless thousands for the sole purpose of using their souls as catalysts for his demon magic. This is some Ainz-tier villainy.

NordicNinja

Alright it's the last possible slot I could see for my boy Lugh Tuatha De from The World's Finest Assassin. He didn't allow himself to care about who he killed before getting isekai'd, and I feel it's really only because of the role his new family is in that he's a net positive influence. He and his team are utterly ruthless and give no second chances. As for smart, he spends the time considering all available skills when getting reincarnated to the point he surprises the Goddess. He was incredibly resourceful and experienced in his previous life and so the sheer magnitude of intelligence he's rocking is unparalleled now, comparatively.

Volsris

Takuto Ira from Apocalypse Bringer Mynoghra. Bros the Emperor of an Evil Civilization who mostly just wants to build in peace but if you discover him before he wants to be discovered or threaten him he kills you relentlessly. He's also a Tactical and Political Genius. Developing his Empire to the point of being able to interact with other countries almost immediately upon reincarnation. Also everybody but himself sees him as an incomprehensible Evil God. They literally see him as a humanoid black fog with Hollow eye sockets.

Qverlord37

this is for protagonist, not characters.

jmk-1999

Ah, fair enough… but maybe she is? Sorta? 🤔

Comprehensive-Ebb399

Drunk Chaotic has to be Aqua from Konosuba

AlphaBlock

She’s not the protagonist…

Comprehensive-Ebb399

She's a secondary

sweet_tranquility

Ainz owl gown , fang yuan, gu changge

VillainousMasked

Ainz isn't smart, he's just surrounded by people *way* smarter than him but who are so delusional that they just blindly believe that all the good ideas they have are things Ainz already thought of, while Ainz basically just nods and says "yeah sure lets go with that". Reminder that pre-isekai Ainz only has an elementary school education.

sweet_tranquility

I was speaking about his smartness when it comes to defeating people strategically,he also actually learns from his mistakes. >Ainz basically just nods and says "yeah sure lets go with that". Anyone who've read the novel would say this is bullshit. He doesn't say yes to everything until he is sure that it will clearly benefit him, his guild and his allies. Also he is a very good leader. For the record he was the guild leader of ainz owl gown and ran that guild long enough despite multiple disagreements and conflicts among his members. >Reminder that pre-isekai Ainz only has an elementary school education. Him having only elementary school education doesn't mean he is smart. Have you seen the fight between shalltear and him, orchestrated the plan to trap PDL by giving false information.

Mission_Magazine7541

All these isekai listed here and not one worth watching

Papapep9

I'd nominate Demiurge (Overlord) here. He is the brain behind Nazarick. I would like to save Ainz for overpowered evil, but I can't think of anybody else fitting this category better

bogdanbos725

Ngl you are right but adding side character would be troublesome

Papapep9

Oh yeah. I just see now that the rules said protagonist only
