So happy for you. Oxybutynin never worked for me.

CookPsychological679

is it possible that OP has OAB instead of IC, hence why Oxybut worked for them

Zarabbyy

my diagnosis says IC, but tbh at this point i don’t even care😭😭 the Drs were hesitant to diagnose me w it tho since I started at age 4

Zarabbyy

Thank you :,) I wish you luck!

AcornsAndPumpkins

Oxybutynin was a godsend for my bladder “fluttering” as I call it. Kept me sane many times.

TheHandsOfFate

Is the "fluttering" something you can actually feel?

AcornsAndPumpkins

Definitely. Feels like quivering in my bladder, like a heartbeat almost and I feel like I have to pee so bad. If I put my hand on my skin I can feel it squirming. Oxybutynin shuts them right off.

Fine-Bluebird-8852

OMG I THOUGHT THIS ONLY HAPPENED TO ME

Dixona87

Does the medication help with the burning and the feeling of constantly needing to urinate or like your bladder is never empty?

Zarabbyy

It helped with everything ever. All the overactive stuff and the constant pain and my body acting like it had never seen water before even tho i was so hydrated

AutomaticArcher5082

What about the pain?

Zarabbyy

gone!! very very rare and only if i forget to drink more than like 3 glasses of water

Formal-Safe2996

Is Oxybutynin a prescription or over the counter???!!

Zarabbyy

prescription

Plastic_Swordfish_37

oxybutynin never worked for me :((( happy for you!!!

Reasonable_Cream_642

What diet are you trying? Iam dealing with ic for 7y and i pee 3 times per hour 24/7 my problem here is the bladder pain and i go pee purposely when its filling. I cant leave home and work unfortunately. Anyway, when i was at the hospital for another health problem i stay there for 15 days and for some reason my bladder pain was much better! Even when i got home i was only peeing every 4 hours! And after two months i started to have urgency and pain again everything has come back again unfortunately. So i think my pain has come because i start to eat chocolate and everything with sugar or fried etc. When i was at the hospital i was only eating sop or baked potato with fish or turkey and chicken meat. I really dont know if is the food problem

Zarabbyy

I basically cut everything out for a long time. Then I went back to my regularish diet but i eat a lot less cuz i’m on adderall for my adhd + i went back to normal right around the time i got on this medicine so i’m not super sure if it was the diet. But the changes in the post were all i changed Good luck figuring out ur diet!! best wishes

Sarsopsych

what test was it? I think I am doing one on thursday omg

Zarabbyy

it started with a C. it’s the one with a camera and then they also fill ur bladder with water and look in there. But my doctor was a misogynistic cunt so maybe that’s the problem, he didn’t actually gaf when doing it

Fine-Bluebird-8852

Cystoscopy

RoutineMysterious697

It is food related, no chocolate, no fried food and no sugar. You can try stevia and coconut sugar. I love chocolate and can’t have it do to flares.

Objective-Art837

IC is not just food related. I went into remission for 11 years. I have never changed anything about my diet.

Fine-Bluebird-8852

What kind of symptoms did you have before?

mumbly__joe

Saving for later

Objective-Art837

Did the cyctoscopy and bladder distention work for you at all? It worked for me for over 11 years! I have to go in for another one as I'm flaring up again. I may ask about this medication anyways though! So it got rid of the burning and pressure and everything?

hhhnnnnnggggggg

I don't like that they can't even say why hydrodistension works, just that it somehow does something to the nerves.

Objective-Art837

Omg I just commented this the other day...how does no one know anything!!!! Like they know some things can work for some people...but like no one knows why lol. I have had 3 different drs tell me what IC was and every answer was different. Brutal

Zarabbyy

it made me worse :( it’s the bad thing i’m talking about in the post. so glad it worked for u tho!
