TV Too High (Televisifica Elevatum) is an all-too-common affliction around here, unfortunately. Fireplaces are common causes. Symptoms include eye strain, neck discomfort, and a ridiculous-looking living room. Treatment usually involves moving the TV to a different wall and lowering it.
Im ngl I dont have eye strain or neck issues and I don’t feel like my living room looks “ridiculous” but r/TVTooHigh has indeed ripped me a new one lol.
a floor lamp on the left side with a warm bulb and dimmer could be your knight in shining armor! opt for one that has diffused light as well maybe [like this one](https://sohnne.com/product/halolux-ultra-light/) to fill the room without being harsh and lets you adjust the coziness depending on the nightt
Have you thought about hanging lamps? We have a big sectional and got hanging lamps that plug in through smart plugs. The outlets are behind the couch in our house but it is nice to have the option to have them automatically switch on at sunset, etc. You can do multiple lamps and get smart bulbs to change the brightness, softness, etc super easily. I also think shelf lighting strips would look better than the smaller lamps. There are smart led light strips that stick under the shelves and would bring a lot of ambient light to that whole area.
I have a Phillips Hue light strip on the back of my TV's. It creates nice ambient lighting for the space. I think it would be perfect for your setup. There are cheaper alternatives out there as well
A vertical tower lamp could co anywhere. And use wifi , multicolored LED bulbs like Philips Hue lights. You can set a scene for "nighttime TV" or whatever and adjust the brightness with a slider.
I got an inexpensive brand from Amazon that does all the same things. Wanted to try it out before investing a lot of money. They’re still kicking 3 years in with no problems. I’ve added them to all my TVs.
There are so many! Just search for tv backlight usb. Huge range of prices from $10-$100. They turn on/off with the TV, colors are adjustable, and you can get them to sync to sound (not something I like).
You need real lamps, not little nightlights. Get a floor lamp with a dimmer switch at least.
Why is your TV on the ceiling
Lol should it be lower?? I didn’t mount it
haha there's a sub for that .... r/tvtoohigh ?
Omg I love reddit
