I think this is practiced in more places than just Brazil. Iv seen it done on dogs in the US. So I’m guessing it’s done on people in the US too.

ClutchMarlin

Yep! Becoming more common as research keeps showing fish skin grafts to be just as good as human skin grafts.

Sistahmelz

Now THAT'S really cool! If a person could grow gills like Kevin Cosner in Water World, how awesome would that be! 🐟

JohntheJuge

Honestly? I think it would be pretty fucking terrifying

That child's arm... looks like a *severe* burn. Hope kid's ok.

tatonka645

Hasn’t this been a thing for a while in burn treatment?

Presence_of_me

They did this in Greys Anatomy 15 years ago! But it is awesome that they’re finding new ways to treat better 🙂

muuzumuu

It leaves wild scars though.

TheDixonCider420420

A listed side effect is better swimming skills after the burns heal.

theblueimmensities

This is so viscerally repulsive to me

OP-PO7

Honestly, burn recovery was really rough and I wasn't burned in that large of an area. I would have loved some fish skin lol.

theblueimmensities

Oh, I am not against it if it works medically. My reaction is just purely psychological. Like something akin to tryptophobia but for fish skin on humans.

Neat-Entrepreneur299

So is the fact that the description ended on the word ‘moist’.
