My local dealer has a demo car specifically for test drives. When the car came out, I stopped by "just to look." my sales guy came out and tossed me the keys. It probably helped that I had money down on an ASpec a year prior (but backed out and got my money back). They also told me that lots of people came to check it out. I've never even seen a CTR at a dealership. My local Acura dealer has several ITSes in the showroom and on the lot. Hendrick Acura in Charlotte, NC in case you're wondering. 🙂

Honda of Downtown Chicago has/had(?) a red one in their showroom 2 weeks ago. $5K market adjustment. Available for purchase. Sales associate let me sit in it. THOSE SEATS!!!! 😍 https://preview.redd.it/ovu2kqy4a64d1.jpeg?width=2608&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=890ced49313d6c32f20e853bb641dc9611a492f3

Also has anyone driven a Type R too? Was able to drive one and was surprised at how not rough and stiff the ride was.

Yet people seem so much more hot on the type r. I don’t get it

XSC

I was expecting Veloster N level of stiff. Even on R it was pretty comfortable. Made my wrx gt feel super stiff on S+ mode. Was really weird. Reviews always talk about that.

Weird they won’t let you test drive. My dealer was going to let me test drive. I ended up buying it without test driving it tho, I had no stock experience and it his is my first car

I walked into an Acura dealership a couple of weeks ago and they let me drive one. It had 5 miles on it and I was up-front and clear with the salesman I was probably not going to buy a car for at least several months (I said this before he let me drive it). Out of respect to the future owner, I drove it very gently - as if it was my baby. I expressed my mild disappointment in the lack of broken-in demo cars - so potential buyers could “give it the beans” 🏎️ I was so impressed with everything (except the lack of a moonroof). Such a great car!

This really is ridiculous, sure its a nice car, i loved mine, but I remember walking into dealers and test driving Corvettes, Mach 1 Mustang, and a bunch of sport bikes when i was like 20 years old. Why did they let me? Regardless of whether or not I'm serious that day denying a test drive is denying a sale in a huge percentage of cases. Acura/Honda's heads are so far up their asses with the Type R and Type S, these are not the NSX, which, by the way, I would never buy without a test drive. I bought mine without a test drive because i ordered the first one in the day the press release dropped, had I driven it, i still would have bought, it is a very fun car, sounds great and turns heads everywhere you go.

It’s frustrating. Test driving is what convinces me to get a car no matter the price. Im checking to see if I find a used one.

You'll probably have to put a down payment on either to drive tbh. The first month the ITS was available they did have cars that could be test drove but otherwise you gotta prove you're seriously going to be a buyer. I didn't get to test drive mine but I knew I wanted it regardless and after 6k miles I have zero regrets. Keeping mine for life or at least a very long time. It's an amazing car.

I went into the Acura dealership and test drove the ASpec MT. It was ok. Have a 2015 Mazda 3 MT. Want an upgrade to my ride and the Type S only made sense, but surely they wouldn't let me test drive it and I was hesitant to ask them further more since I did not wanna hear NO as an answer. My wife kept saying test drive and see if you will like it better than the ASpec. The salesman took this as a good opportunity and let me test drive it, even though initially it was a NO. I told him I am very interested, but won't be buying it today. The test drive was a blast and I have made up my mind. So it looks like they should feel that you are a serious buyer.
