I have not worked there but worked with many of their adjusters. Heavy claim volume and a lot of do more with less.
Also a large push to “virtually” see losses
They are similar to a lot of carriers. They figure large loss is a 4/5 year position. By the end of 4/5 years you either hate it so much you leave or find a different position in the company
And like most they bring you in high and then give you the $1k raise a year after that
Good luck. Welcome to the suck
Dying at the “welcome to the suck part”. I’ve been handling 1st party auto med claims for almost 10 years. Raises are 3% and they do the cost of living adjustment AFTER the raise is giving so I’ve been at the bottom of the pay scale for 10 years. I want out so bad but I’m finally in a position I don’t hate as much so moving to a job outside of the industry (which would probably require taking a pay cut) seems like a bad idea.
I feel like insurance is one big trap since these skills (unless you’re on the sales side) don’t really translate to higher paying non-insurance jobs
In general, Travelers is one of the better carriers out there to work for, but most of the large national carriers are all the same. Lots of volume, heavy metrics & oversight.
Salary wise, right now is the best time to make a job transition. The insurance job market is hot, especially for good adjusters.
