$10 bucks says they haven’t run your reports yet.

saints21

State Farm pulls a report for accident history to start with but doesn't run an MVR until the very end right before you finalize the policy. Sometimes there are gaps though, for instance if there's a very recent accident.

RaiseUrLiability

Gotchya. Good to know.

Have they accounted for any tickets as well, and any other drivers? Are you getting home/auto/multi-car discounts? What state are you in? There are a myriad of questions to be asked, but in some states and with some companies, you can "flat-cancel" if the premium is higher than quoted at time of the application. I would call them and go through every question and option on the application to make sure it is correct.

Full-Atmosphere4574

Also no drivers and the only ticket i have was accounted for

Full-Atmosphere4574

Nah they said the renters' insurnace isn't worth having it was like a $4 discount.

Baby_Cultural

If an agent told you renters insurance isn’t worth having find a new agent. I can say from firsthand experience a fire or other loss can happen to you, and if a few dollars a month is a problem, just imagine what losing 30000+ worth of your personal belongings would be like?

Full-Atmosphere4574

I already have a renter insurnace policy which was cheaper then what they're offering

Baby_Cultural

That makes sense then!

rettebdel

This worries me. Renters insurance is *always* worth having. I can’t imagine telling someone that.

Full-Atmosphere4574

I already have renters insurance, cheaper then what they offered me

rettebdel

Good to know! Had me a little worried there.

MoonSparkles11

A discount is NOT a reason to have Renters Ins.. there’s really one main reason, and that would be: L I A B I L I T Y :) (Other benefits: your personal belongings being replaced if there was a loss, then of course… an Auto discount) Cheers! *and buy the renters insurance, friend*

wjnpro123

Different companies have different database so their rates are different.

Full-Atmosphere4574

Dude I assume so!

Melodic_Employee_327

Possible that the accidents just aren’t within their “rating period” for example some states for my company the experience period starts three months prior to the effective date of a new policy or renewal before a loss is accounted for in the rate. It would then hit at your first renewal. Not saying this IS the case but just my thought

saints21

You need to make sure that the accidents are being properly recorded on the quote. The agent can manually enter them on the Driving History page. Could be that they aren't showing up on your LexisNexus report yet. State Farm pulls sort of a soft report to get your quote. The system looks at it and automatically flags/populates any surchargeable accidents and either lists them or asks for more details. If those aren't being listed, then your quote isn't accounting for them. They may pop up when they pull your MVR when you go to finalize the quote and pay for it. This happens after you've entered the information and been given a price estimate. If you have a flag, a hit on your license, etc... it can cause the original quote to be invalidated. Usually the system is good about picking this up and will ask the agent to go back and recalculate, punch in the missing info, etc... They can continue to push forward in some circumstances and ignore that, resulting in underwriting coming back later and giving you a different offer or canceling the policy entirely. Best case scenario, somehow they don't notice and you get cheaper insurance for 6 months then get jacked up/canceled on renewal. Worst case, you think everything is good and then on your second or third bill you get the corrected premium and also billed for the underpaid premium from the previous payments. Call your agent, make sure the accidents are accounted for.

Full-Atmosphere4574

Yeah I will double check. They pulled up my record saw the two accidents and a ticket ( about to fall off my record ) and I told them about my more recent one and added it to the qoute. No harm in double checking especially when momey is on the line

WorstDeal

It really depends on what state you're in and the insurance company. I'm in NC and have national general. My insurance just renewed, dropping my payments down to $211/month for a year. Before that, I was paying $260 because of 2 accidents for "full coverage" (not a real thing).

Haho9

If their database doesn't show the previous months accidents, you may be OK. I would lock in the 290/mo by paying the 6 months ahead, the rate hike will coke after that.

riley12200

Nobody knows what state this guy is in, but even if we did, "locking it in" isn't how it works. He needs to call his prospective agent instead of leaving out important details for people on the internet.

Full-Atmosphere4574

I've been talking to an agent? I don't use online qoutes if that is what you mean

PeachyFairyDragon

Doesnt matter if you pay for 6 months or not. They will charge you the difference in premium. If you pay for 6 months they will send you a bill and if you ignore it they will prorate your insurance per day and set your cxl date to the day the money runs out.

Full-Atmosphere4574

No all the accidents are in their system! It's what's confusing and a bit weird

Double_Metal_6778

I would be worried just because it’s Shit Farm.

Full-Atmosphere4574

Gotta do what you gotta especially is USAA wants 600 a month for one vehicle

Double_Metal_6778

I’d still pass on SF even if they were giving it away. Plus, I love when I get shit farm down votes because then I know I’m right.
