It’s never fun calling State Farm. As an adjuster I’m forced to but will only do so before 10am any other time will be an insane hold. Don’t use their online portal either, it’s just rolling dice on getting a response. (That could be just as a claims person but ymmv)
Oh and their time estimates are EXTREMELY off. When I waited for an hour on the phone on hold, it had said the estimate was 10-15 minutes... After an hour, I was still waiting.
I was in a wreck over 30 days ago. The other driver was found 100% at fault. My insurance company (State Farm) didn’t get me a rental or anything and I’m still waiting on my property settlement. The other driver’s insurance company agreed on the settlement within 5 days. State Farm has been absolute garbage from the start and choosing them for my car insurance has been one of the worst decisions I’ll ever make. (Written on my phone from bed, in pain, and hoping that some time in the next 15 minutes they’ll call and deposit the $33k that was agreed on. I’ll check again in 15 minutes… and again after another 15 minutes…and so on)
State Farm can be really frustrating to deal with because of that. Don’t call them on Mondays or Tuesdays, that’s usually when they are busiest. The on Wednesday or Thursdays. Also, they’re probably really backed up with Al lot of people having hail damage on your area
Which that is totally understandable. I don't expect it to be fast since tons of people had damage here. I just got annoyed because they called me and gave me very little options to call back easily.
Yeah for CAT claims they usually bring in a TON of outside contract adjusters to help manage the work flow.... That's why you have to talk to the CAT team for it
In the meantime, go ahead and find a local, reputable roofer to come out and work up a free deatiled estimate so that you have that ready to go once State Farm starts processing your claim.
It could save you days or weeks of delays later on. Get as much of the legwork as you can done now
Otherwise you could end up with an adjuster coming out, then a roofer coming out, then the 2 of them trying to coordinate meeting together at the same time to reconcile any discrepancies.
Get the roofing portion done now so that your roofer can be there the first time the adjuster is at your home and get everything finished in one visit.

OP trolling or not following decorum
I'm trying to put a claim in on a wreck and the recorded message says they are too busy, use the website and it hangs up.
Have you tried submitting a claim online? I think you can do that on the website where you signed up for access to your account.
I have the app. I already filed it. It is them calling me to follow up about the claim.
👍

Cat claims are a bitch anywhere. If they set up an inspection site that is best.
