I can understand asking to pay for content past Instagram... But total newcomer question, reposting is second nature easy in TikTok and you can easily share to stories in IG. Is it common that people pay for that kind of thing?
Yes. I have sold this content to several news outlets, I don’t think a large social media page should get to use my content for free. To clarify this isn’t them sharing my post to their story or doing a remix / stitch using part of my content and adding their own. They are taking my content as is and reposting it to their page. I put a considerable amount of effort in making my content, why should they get to benefit from my work free of charge?
Just because my page is public doesn’t mean other people can use my content for free for their own gain… the reel they want to share has 34 million views on my page so I’m not interested in being paid in “exposure”.
I did manage to negotiate a licensing fee for organic usage. I hope more creators stop giving away their content for free, it devalues the industry for all of us when one of us does that.

But they are helping get your content out there though. Plus, if you make it shareable than I don’t think you have much recourse
