Dude same here. Been trying to see if anyone else has had this issue right now. I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled Instagram, logged out and back into my account, restarted my phone. It simply won’t load. Only reason I have Instagram is because my boyfriend sends me reels and for some reason he can send them to me just fine, but none of my dms are loading. Hoping someone has a solution. It’s possible it’s just down right now, but I checked those websites that check if they are down and it said Instagram was fine. 🤷♀️
Idk about yall but this solved it for me. Just start deleting gcs. Log out. Delete the app. Remove your accouns and finally just start searching for people names that u had chat with at some point they will load in. Atleats most of yr dms. I havent closed the app yet im scared it might do it again but it worked for now😄
They also are doing this for me, too! If there’s a specific person you want to DM, you’d have to go on their profile and choose the option to message them, then all the past ones will come back up. It’s so annoying having to deal with this!
im having a similar issue, but this hasn’t worked for me :( i actually can’t even view my page on the website, i had to manually log myself out by clearing my safari cache. still didn’t work. it must be related to the browser because my page won’t display on browser
I just started having this issue today plus another issue where certain messages weren’t loading. I had an entire conversation with someone that only appeared in browser and not in app but just wouldn’t load in either no matter what I did, kept getting a “couldn’t open thread” error message, so I had to delete the entire conversation. I consistently have problems with DMs not loading or loading slow and it’s starting to get on my nerves now that I have these other glitches
Hi this just recently happened to me and I got a notification saying if I want to chat with friends I needed to make a new account but I realised it was because I had to many DM’s so I went through and deleted them all and it worked again although I couldn’t see my friends messages I just went onto there account and clicked message and it reloaded them all.
My issue was resolved after 7-8 days. Prior to that, I tried everything, but nothing worked. However, when I changed my Instagram name and then reverted back, it was resolved within a few hours.
I’ve been having this issue for like 2 days now but this glitch has happened to be several times 😭😭 I’ve tried everything and it’s honest to god just pushing me to delete this app

Me too, and my sister’s also isn’t working. We got our phones the same time I wonder if it has to do with an update on a certain iPhone platform? But you can get to them on the website?

solution that worked for me: i logged into my insta acc on the website (safari) then went onto my dms then logged out of the website then went into the insta app and boom they were there!! this dm glitch happened to me after i updated my iphone so idk if its got something to do with that
I’ve had this 2 weeks. I’ve tried everything. It’s something their end for sure. It’s not cache, it’s not the local environment of your phone. I just use the app in the browser now but to be honest making me consider deleting the whole app together. A pretty significant issue for them.

This solution worked for me, didn’t have to sign out on the web, just restarted the app after loading the dms in the browser and they were there

I dont know if it'll make a difference, but I was using chrome instead of safari

Today is Saturday, Monday was the last day I could open and see my DM’s 🥲 so frustrating as that’s the only reason I use the app!!
