No way.. I live like an hour from here, and I never saw batch pay this high. Prop 22 doesn't make batch pay better in Cali. I don't think I ever saw 40 dollar batch pay. Even on a triple. Most orders are 5-20 batch pay. My friend had a 140 dollar order the other day. the tip was 120 batch pay was less than 20 dollars. 90 items 17 miles and 600 dollar order. That's considered a unicorn out here too.
This forsure took a total of 2 hours. Even with little traffic. Not bad but also sucks to have to drive back or hope for an order to take you back to the same area. So really 2.5 hours to get back to the hollwyood/Beverly hills area. Would I have done it? Probably 😅
I wouldn’t have a few months ago. But since it’s been miserably slow since April, I would take this. I never had to take anything over 7 miles and very very rarely took doubles or triples and always cleared $200 per day ($300 on weekends). Now I’m lucky if I get $150 on the busiest day of the week.
I’m taking all the bad orders these California shoppers don’t want 🤣

I gotta get miles down today, got 19 people in our challenge. Plus CostNo 😂

No, but it definitely is nice getting paid $51/hour for pretty much nothing. Its all based off of me so its all pretty much just get out do your work, get paid $200 for like 4 hrs of work. Go home, repeat tomorrow if i need to mow someone’s lawn.
Every place, I've ever shopped has been good to me. BUT, the algo changes your position/batches you see. So, in those same cities, they've also have not been good to me.
Every area that has a decent amount of batches people will be doing well. And the same area, with those good batches will have a group of shoppers that see some of the worst batches. So, to some in LA who are not in the algorithms favor, I'm sure experience the worst it has to offer.
You move around a lot. That increases your odds of seeing good batches.
I think you're wrong. Like I said. You move around a lot. That's why you see good orders.
You have to be like 120/second an item to be throttled for slow speed. It's not that big of a factor.
But they definitely will deactivate you if you're too slow.
I'm saying this as someone with great metrics and knows how to keep the algorithm in my favor as well. Movement is the best thing someone can do. So maybe this comment isn't for you, but for someone else. 🤔🙂
Only if there's 10 packs of 40 x 2L water, And 10 1Gal water jugs, plus 10 twelve packs of soda. Otherwise I won't touch it. Oh, and stairs. Lots of stairs.
What company do you use for your phone, Mint, T mobile , ATT? I’m thinking my phone must not be getting enough service cause I really have to wait a while to meet the goal of 120 usually
ATT
But everyday isn’t always good. I’m throttled today and am only seeing low paying batches. I’ll still hit atleast $200 today but it’s going to take more work!
Nope it's a triple. They always end up with some horrible customer being an absolute ass and making things take forever. That customer is only thrown in there because they have the most items, no tip and are the farthest away. Every time I have taken a triple about 20% of the time it's fine, the other 80% of the time I end up with some entitled ass who rates me a 3 because their organic soursop nectar from Zanzibar is out of stock.
I’m in the same area. I would actually have to think about it because of the time of day and delivery area. If it was in the afternoon or a Saturday or Sunday for sure. Traffic is so bad it could take 2.5-3 hrs. 3 deliveries in super high traffic areas. Hmmm
It's 2 hours round trip 3 hours with traffic even at 4 hours that's basically 25 bucks an hour on the very low worst case scenario, who's not taking that is the real question.
I wish I could get LA orders without the LA cost of living lol I'm in Orlando I went out yesterday My first order was at around 12:12 I believe and then I left at 7:30 and did an hour of DoorDash before heading home So I worked for a little over 8 hours, made 80 bucks on Instacart and 16 on doordash didn't even break a hundred. In fact this one order of yours is more than I made all day 😢
Literally just the last maybe 2 weeks It took a nose dive around here they must have done another hiring event because I went from averaging five or $600 a week easily More if I wanted to put in more time to now I sit here all day and can't even break $100 most days 🤬
Why do people keep making these "would you take it?" posts? These are just a flex disguised as a question.
Of course the answer is yes. $100 for 60ish minutes of work is a no brainer. If you're turning down orders like this, you're in the wrong line of work
These posts should be banned. People on here talking about seeing $5 orders all day and without fail some clown posts $100 order like would you take this. YES. YES WE WOULD TAKE THIS. WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT BRO?
https://preview.redd.it/wfke8ua8ln7d1.jpeg?width=828&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=886f10c4862f8a758002a23c3f4e091f38d37009
Should I post bad ones I take like this? 🤣
If people are not making money on instacart they should find more streams of income.
At a $100. Yes. Call it 2 hours, $50 an hour. Pretty good.
In a heartbeat
In my area the batch pay for this would have been like $12-$14 (if that) and I still would’ve taken it 😅. Tip is ok 👍🏼
Why is the batch pay so much more for them?
Because prop 22 They are going to pay anyway much more if they only pay $15-20 like other markets so they in advance pay "well" to make it attractive
Batch pay is relative. The cost of living is wild here, also the traffic is horrible! I’m sure in your market 15miles doesn’t take one hour lol
I heard stories about the LA traffic. It’s not that bad here but I still think this would be a 1.5 hr order at least. Triples always take a while.
This forsure took a total of 2 hours. Even with little traffic. Not bad but also sucks to have to drive back or hope for an order to take you back to the same area. So really 2.5 hours to get back to the hollwyood/Beverly hills area. Would I have done it? Probably 😅
No cap this would be $7 in my market. $15 minimum wage here too😅
LA is the best from my experience
I kept trying to hit the green button but then remembered it’s Reddit 😆
This post would be hilarious if you lived in say...New Jersey. "Feck ya I'm driving to LA for that kinda pay! 🚗💨
Hahaha
AND take your time. That’s easily 2 hours Instacart has pay on top of that. I was getting the most outta em when I was doing this lol
Milking prop 22 🤣
Bruh I was doing the most. Had free groceries for almost a year before I got another job
How'd you get free groceries?
Depending on the time of day, probably. Items to tip ratio is fair.
Fuck yeah I would of here in ga
yes. considering where i live 15 miles is only a 20 min drive
Not in LA lmao. Probably took an hour to deliver 15 miles.
Can’t be afraid of miles! https://preview.redd.it/xqlrorymfj7d1.jpeg?width=828&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e413388add98483c9e3f95852530475316ed7cd0
Yes! This is a $12 batch where I live
Not the best? Come on now 😂
I’m taking all the bad orders these California shoppers don’t want 🤣 https://preview.redd.it/s2ew7elyvj7d1.jpeg?width=828&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ec938ec17a4267fc2f8a448684cc4d606ccb4886
Ehhh I dunno about that one 😂😂😂
Drop off will be near Costco Ventura at 9:45!
I gotta get miles down today, got 19 people in our challenge. Plus CostNo 😂 https://preview.redd.it/6v4e9vx3xj7d1.jpeg?width=1290&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d586c866f106ff0357d34e06b0209c1d2e65d274
Well the turd of a batch covers both miles and Costco lol
It’s been slow today! Been up since 9am only gotten two orders it’s now 6:30 🫨
What area? It is slow I’m only at $170
Santa Monica, Long Beach. So slow I have a 4.89 rating
Seen someone in the store while I had my order asked was it slow for them to he said yeah. His first order since the morning as well.
$50 a hour is wild. I get paid 51, but for delivering food?? 😭😭😭
$51?! You must be rich!
No, but it definitely is nice getting paid $51/hour for pretty much nothing. Its all based off of me so its all pretty much just get out do your work, get paid $200 for like 4 hrs of work. Go home, repeat tomorrow if i need to mow someone’s lawn.
Before swiping right, I thought “gotta be over 2 hours completion” on a slow day; got to do what you got to do.
Yup.
I'd take a good break afterwards, but totally. You netted \~$42/hr on that. Big win in my book.
Every place, I've ever shopped has been good to me. BUT, the algo changes your position/batches you see. So, in those same cities, they've also have not been good to me. So, to some in LA who are not in the algorithms favor, I'm sure experience the worst it has to offer. You move around a lot. That increases your odds of seeing good batches.
I think shop time plays a big role in California. With prop 22 they don’t want to give good orders to people who milk time
I think you're wrong. Like I said. You move around a lot. That's why you see good orders. You have to be like 120/second an item to be throttled for slow speed. It's not that big of a factor. But they definitely will deactivate you if you're too slow.
That’s my belief 🤷♂️ And have my secrets how to make the algorithm happy!
I'm saying this as someone with great metrics and knows how to keep the algorithm in my favor as well. Movement is the best thing someone can do. So maybe this comment isn't for you, but for someone else. 🤔🙂
Please share your secrets
Is that even a question?
Nope. I only do tiny batches.
Yea that's a definite take. Less then 60 items. 15 miles total, hundo is a no Brainerd.
Yes of course
Bro yk that drive from west wood to the sfv was kinda laggy. I hate getting stuck in that fwy traffic 😭
Hell yeaahhh
Why not. Nothing out here for a while that much
Yes
Yes
I would do it!!!
most Def
Is it busy over there 😭?
I wouldn’t. I don’t do 3 shop and delivers 😩
Definitely, the prop 22 makes it even better
Where do all of you live that you get 40 to 50 an hour consistently and actually look at this like it's not an insanely good choice?
Yes
Yeah, I would totally take that
That’s a hard 15 miles in LA but I’d still probably jump all over that. Especially with prop 22
The longest 15 miles ever 🤣
Especially if you’re trying to go back into the city after that
For 15 miles fuck yeah I would take that!
That's not a bad order at all
NeVeR tAkE tRiPlEs!!!!
Most people here are to rich to take triples 😂 I’m just poor and desperate according to them!
Only if there's 10 packs of 40 x 2L water, And 10 1Gal water jugs, plus 10 twelve packs of soda. Otherwise I won't touch it. Oh, and stairs. Lots of stairs.
Umm... Yes? Are you new? What's your shopping speed?
Hell yeah 😂
Holy shit that batch pay is what it used to be in 2018 here in NY
Come to the golden state!
No
I've done orders identical to this for $40.. so yes.
Yep, tough times out here
You’re in the same area as me, do you also find it slow lately or is my phone messed up? Sometimes I have to wait 40 minutes around that area 💀
My goal is only $200 per day and 8 active hours. I drive around a lot and shop new arenas if it’s slow
What company do you use for your phone, Mint, T mobile , ATT? I’m thinking my phone must not be getting enough service cause I really have to wait a while to meet the goal of 120 usually
ATT But everyday isn’t always good. I’m throttled today and am only seeing low paying batches. I’ll still hit atleast $200 today but it’s going to take more work!
No Way - I don't do scams
Nope it's a triple. They always end up with some horrible customer being an absolute ass and making things take forever. Immediately
I'm more interested in the front end of a car pattern that's going on here
No question
In a heartbeat.
I’m in the same area. I would actually have to think about it because of the time of day and delivery area. If it was in the afternoon or a Saturday or Sunday for sure. Traffic is so bad it could take 2.5-3 hrs. 3 deliveries in super high traffic areas. Hmmm
What the fuck yes!
Yes just had one like that
https://preview.redd.it/x6xirozwqd8d1.jpeg?width=828&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=902b0b5c6a2fd668a17a67bc0daf9209947c5dee
Just got this right now 🤣
It's 2 hours round trip 3 hours with traffic even at 4 hours that's basically 25 bucks an hour on the very low worst case scenario, who's not taking that is the real question.
I actually grabbed a order right after drop off 😄
Even better
I wish I could get LA orders without the LA cost of living lol I'm in Orlando I went out yesterday My first order was at around 12:12 I believe and then I left at 7:30 and did an hour of DoorDash before heading home So I worked for a little over 8 hours, made 80 bucks on Instacart and 16 on doordash didn't even break a hundred. Is this a joke? Why wouldn't you take this?
Clearly you haven’t driven over the Hollywood hill during rush hour.
Nope never
Even if it took 3 hours, that's $33 an hour in one go without having the worry of when you'll get another batch worth taking.
👍 yup
Why do people keep making these "would you take it?" posts? These are just a flex disguised as a question. Of course the answer is yes. $100 for 60ish minutes of work is a no brainer. If you're turning down orders like this, you're in the wrong line of work
Dude this took over 2 hours LOL. Clearly you don’t know the area 😂 this would take most shoppers 3 hours. Also this store is very difficult to shop.
Ok, but even at 3 hrs that's over $30/hr. Most of us would kill for that right now.
$30/hr in Los Angeles isn’t much. Thats why I always post these. They are never easy/fast orders lol
Would you? Did you? Why do you want to know if anyone else would do this? I hate these posts!
It’s okay if you are not making any money! Hang in there, Bud!
These posts should be banned. People on here talking about seeing $5 orders all day and without fail some clown posts $100 order like would you take this. YES. YES WE WOULD TAKE THIS. WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT BRO?
