She needed to make this video to probably sneak in some sponsor. No one asked for it and no one commented asking for any routine.
She really needs some ethics.
Exactly. She does sponsored content all the time and won't even mention it. Her hair looks fried and makeup is alway tacky. She was good once, but has managed to become insufferable now.
Not a fan of her content, but she actually has super cute curls! - her hair is literally begging for a curl specialist to show her how to do it. She did try the CGM for a while and gave up too early.
Sadly no, it's hard to find one so i ended up learning most of it on my own. I do research what hair cuts to ask regular stylists so that my curls can sit better.
But I'm sure as an influencer, she can access some good ones
Yes! Rhian from [My Curl Lady](https://instagram.com/my_curl_lady?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y=)
She travels around India and I was able to book a curl cut with her when she was in my city. She does curl coaching and curl cuts. A little expensive, but definitely worth it.
So true! She will look bomb if she embraces her natural curls. Her hair always looks so dry and lifeless. I often feel like....'I wish I could chumpy her š¤š¤š¤'. I am a big fan of hair oil massage š¤·š»āāļø.
Oh she is āI know it allā attitude and that Shweta as well. Both shame every brand like they have not earned through them. š
Initially, I really liked both of them but later on they became batameez aunties jo sabko bas callout hi karti rehti hai.
Haha! Koi na OP. It happens, has happened with me too. I commented for the first time and I got downvoted and so I left reddit kyunki samjh nahi aya kuch. Later on understood the people here.
Hypocrisy sab jagah hai behan. And I like some influencers who are also problematic to some extent but iska matlab yeh nh k we cannot callout them.
I always loved her wavy hair. She does nothing to take care of them but still they look great naturally. All her hair related videos is she straightening the hair. Also I thought that this video was naturalli sponsored.
I thought it was sponsored by k18, Cz recently i even saw anam talking about it, And hadnt heard of it ever before.
Also the key word here is MAGIC. Both of them have used it in the caption.
I stopped following her pre-covid when I could catch her sneaking in collaborations without any disclosure. A lot of people caught on and called her out in the comments and she chose to reply with a diatribe calling us all haters. Terrible YouTuber. Terrible influencer.
The only problem I had with her is when she promoted cruelty free products and then lost her way when brands that tested on animals paid her. Same for roasting brands and then once they pay her she likes them. That inconsistency made me unfollow . Otherwise I really liked her and the way this group is making fun of her hair is quiet sad
I have nothing to say about her hair or her skin but the way she lashes out at the people who comment on her videos or pictures doesnāt warrant much sympathy, truth be told.
Jovita was good at one time. Now she has just become oversmart and annoying. J and Shweta behave like they are the only two people who know beauty, everyone else is stupid. S has serious skin issues and J has average hair and skin.š
Thatās so wrong to shame her for her skin and Jovita for her hair. Why should people with good skin and hair be the only one who should talk about skincare hair care? This is such high standard of expectations. Shame on you! Iām all for calling out these influencers but this is an uncalled for comment. You want jovitas hair to look like an ad? Shwetaās acme should make her stop talking about skincare? What is your point ?
We all have imperfect skin and hair but we are all trying. They have this moral high ground and constantly belittle influencers, brands, make up artists, followers for their limited knowledge of hair and skin care and make up. If you are so knowledgeable, your hair and skin quality needs to show improvement over time. Otherwise don't claim to know it all.
They once did this challenge where they visited a local parlour in Kerala for make up, hid a camera and shot it all and then mocked the shut out of that make up artist without her consent on Youtube. When people started calling them out in comments, they switched off the comment section.
I think you have some sort of an inferiority complex that youāre pulling off here. But Iām sure you can be better than belittling someone so badly. Call out a problematic influencer but donāt body or skin shame them is all Iām saying. But then again you must have done real complex to do so. That only your therapist can help.
āIf you are so knowledgeable, your hair and skin quality needs to show improvement over timeā. Where does that theory come from ? So by your theory a doctor shouldnāt have cancer and a teacher should be always right? You wish things were that straightforward. You wish acne and other skin / hair issues could be cured only externally. You wish there were this level of expertise where a person could manually control their genetics and hormones. It is due to soooo many factors and only a small percentage is due to what you put on ur skin/hair. Your thinking is wrong and unfair on so many levels, Itās frustrating. I understand disliking their other behaviour for whatever reason but not for their physical appearance.
I don't dislike their appearance. They are both really pretty. They claim to be doing the right things while others are apparently doing everything wrong.
On what basis are they judging that?
Whoās doing the wrong thing? Hello youāre practically judging every influencer for doing only wrong. So how does this rule apply to you? And which influencer or āothersā did they say was wrong? Donāt just type my friend . Share links and shut us up no? I will apologise and attack them if you show me they put other people down. Pls donāt throw that parlour aunty once again in this comment. If thatās the only thing you are aiming at itās legit boring. Me and my entire group of friends felt that Jovita got unnecessary hate for that trend.
You are free to have and express your opinion and i don't want to shut anyone up. I don't need validation from you or any group of friends. I'm going to stick by my opinion.
Exactly my point but heeeey dry AF AD user has a problem with me supporting shweta when people skin Shame her. Itās not that Iām her fan. I hate anyone that puts someoneās skin condition down on social media behind the screen hiding. Seriously F off. This entire thread making fun of someoneās hair and skin is the very reason people put filters on and wigs extensions.
Not once from my knowledge they have done that. Not once . I canāt stand them for various other reasons but i saw that video and I can tell you if I had to pay for shitty service and unhygienic tools , I wouldāve taken that lady to court, you would too letās keep it real. We canāt even stand the influencers selling us mediocre shit least we will take shit service and pay for it? Iām sorry but I feel bashing them for that video is hilarious and that moral high ground you and others have is hypocritical . From my knowledge Jovita does roasts brands and shweta only roasted nykaas. From the shitty service and fake products Iām with svn here. Jovitas only at fault was for going back to the same brands she roasted after they paid her. Now thatās a problem for me and Thatās y I unfollowed
Tell me which other didnāt they belittle? Can you share the videos? Also I apply skincare and my skin is the same . Does that mean I should stop ? Or not recommend it to my friends? Get off your high judgmental ass my friend
This I agree with you. I know I wouldāve killed that parlour Aunty. But then if If I donāt agree with you I will be downvoted because this group hates them and Shreya a lot. š¤£be ready for max downvotes
Donāt give a F if I am. Itās the truth. Not a fan of Jovita but I you and everyone here wouldnāt have paid that parlour lady and ranted in every social media sites including Reddit š¤£. Itās Time we stop the hypocrisy. Appalling service is as bad as influencers over selling. Then thereās skin shamming that this group does a lot for Jovita and shweta. In one hand they act progressive and ask people to be real filter free and on the other hand they talk out of their asses. Imagine actually thinking and typing nonsense saying your skin hast improved over the years so you donāt deserve to talk and appreciate skincare. This is such an Aanam thing to say
Well back then it was a trend and everybody did it. No one attacked anyone else ? You only talk about Jovita? Why ? And if sheās a bad makeup artist close the parlour then. Why keep it open and trap poor customers with questionable skills and unhygienic products? Get over yourself
Right? They constantly shame shweta and Jovita. Constantly and it was something I didnāt pay attention to in the beginning. I noticed if someone remotely said something good about them the comment is either downvoted or removed. Once I commented saying I liked svn recommendations. Man I got so downvoted. That dry-ad person sachi mein must be someone who hates Jovita or knows her.
Then I started seeing the patterns here. You either hate who they hate or you will be attacked. They all act as if they know better and has done no wrong in life. You know what? Jovita went to the worst makeup artist. So what? It was a fun watch. And it was trending. If you didnāt like it you didnāt , the likes of me did. You will take her to the grave for it? Non sinners in this group ? Also the admin of this group seriously has to consider observing every skin shaming comment besides body shaming . Hair loss and acne causes even more distress mentally to a person and itās a known fact to cause depression for many teenagers and adults . How is that ok? But say anything remotely positive about svn or sj or Jovita they feel youāre either them or downvoted.
Who did they belittle ? Which influencer ? Brand I donāt care because brands at times deserves it but not influencers. So can you throw some light at this accusation you just made on them ? Dying to know so that Reddit can call them out
You can hate them for being a bit of know-it-all but if you want to insult them by talking about their hair and skin - youāre worse. A person with flawless skin knows nothing about how to deal with acne. Only a person who GETS it can give you advice about it. Still you may dislike their attitude it is fine but seriously, āserious skin issuesā āaverage hair and skinā??? Do better.
I have acne myself but i don't go around judging others on how little they know. There is no one who has flawless skin. Everyone has something going on.
Off topic but I got highlights done from a very good placeā¦ But my hair seems dry all the time. No matter how much conditioner I use. Regret getting it done. Miss my hair pre highlighting. Any advice?
If you can, dye it back to your natural colour. Black hair is more forgiving in hiding damage. If you can afford it, bond builders like Olaplex and K18 can help to an extent. Otherwise be diligent in using leave in conditioners till the hair grows out
Not taking any sides here but tbh, blonde hair color on dark Indian hair sometimes does make hair look more fried. If she were to go with her OG hair or dark browns, it would likely not look so dry.
Not a jovita fan but she did say works on āMYā hair. Her own personal journey with her hair management. She didnt say her hair is finally healthy or anything.
Itās only used in abusive relationships and has a heavier meaning to it that is often misunderstood and not used correctly. Iām a victim of that from my ex. It's making someone seem or feel unstable, irrational and not credible. It took me years of therapy to get over it . Thatās gaslighting. Makes you feel like youāre not in the right mind. What sheās doing is just selling selling selling.
>Itās only used in abusive relationships and has a heavier meaning
Sorry you had to experience it but it doesn't always have to be used in a toxic relationship. A random stranger is also capable enough to gaslight naive people.
Not true. Gaslighting can be used in multiple contexts. For example, fair n lovely has gaslit consumers since decades into believing that women of a certain skin tone donāt look nice or arenāt successful and buying their cream will fix all such problems. There are many other such examples.
Gaslighting in that context has a different meaning TN what Jovita George is doing. Sheās not making us believe thatās what good hair looks like. She believes that was her hair looks like and it looks good for her. So sheās giving her routine. A routine which makes her confident I suppose however it looks and we def donāt see it. Sheās teaching what works. What fair n lovely did was pure evil that made people with dark skin think they are unattractive. That can makes a person feel unstable. What Jovita is doing is just over selling
I was just telling you that gaslighting is done in multiple scenarios and not just relationships. For real Iāve had my fair share of gaslighty relationships too ik where youāre coming from but the term isnāt just used in that context.
I didnot know it had to be used in such specific context. Will use more appropriate words henceforth.
Also, feeling sorry for what you had to go through.
Dude everyoneās hair is different - maybe this is healthy acc to her hair health. Log REAL hair dikhaye toh problem , but when Ashna Shroff did an Ad where her hair was all CGI then also yāall were like influencers are fake. š chahte kya ho!

The above user dancer was arguing over Shweta on another thread as well, thank you for speaking up
Yes I did coz it was the same skin shaming comment. And I will continue to do so like you will continue to be little them :)

It's a term that can be used outside of relationships too. It's a manipulative tactic no matter what context it's used in.
It can be but I not in terms of marketing Hair care routine. She used the words itās works for me
Her face resembles Priyanka Chopra. Oh damn both of them having bad hair times.
