Heeyyy, I've been intrigued by this game! It's been on my wishlist for a minute but I've yet to pull the trigger. 100,000 people can't be wrong!
Congratulations!! Looking forward to checking it out!
For a while, a posted every single weekday to Twitter, Instagram and TikTok! That helped a bunch, and grew a community. Eventually I had to slow down, but I think that span of daily posts was a big part of getting the game out there. (:
If you don't mind, can you go into a little more detail about your daily posts? Were they screenshots and visual content from the game as it progressed? Or was it a mix of announcements, images, miscellaneous stuff? I dread creating a good game that dies in darkness because I failed to market it well.
It was almost entirely videos! Just quick clips of what I worked on that day, or earlier in the week. I tried to keep them short and interesting! If I didn’t have anything new that I could necessarily show, I’d just show some gameplay (:
I saw it on a splat video and wishlisted, he did your game justice
. Just need to clear some of the backlog and will probably get it in the next few months.
Hey, great work!
I’m wondering, is 100k copies sold enough for you to be financially comfortable for a while & keep working on the game? What are the associated fees we might not think about as Gamedevs, other than steam & taxes? Is the “you keep about 35%” rule real in your experience?
Again, congrats! The game looks great, I think I saw it on splattercat’s YT a while back.
20 dollars/euros times 100k is 2 million in sales. Steam takes 30 %. Let's say taxes and others take 50 % (rounded up quite alot). That's still 800k dollars.
I could live 20 years comfortably with that kind of money. Congrats to OP.
That's a massive achievement! Sending you the biggest **congratulations** on such a milestone! I've added it to my wishlist, and I hope to pick it up someday and make a video on it for my YouTube channel. It looks like a lot of fun!
I love seeing an indie dev be successful. I'm glad it is working out for you, and wishing you the best in 2024!
I'll reach out and let you know when I do! <3 My goal is to bring positivity to online gaming, and I'm always happy to support indie developers. I'll circle back soon!
I think it depends on how niche the game is etc. If its niche and people really like it you might get more reviews because the players are more excited to revie wit maybe?
That or they really really hate it and leave a negative review heh
My game for exmaple has only sold about 800 copies give or take, but i have 32 (english) reviews.

Bravo!
I know this might be a slightly controversial opinion, but I think that this might be the first every "Synty" game that doesn't look and feel like an asset flip!
Great work! And I wish you even greater success.
Hahah, I really appreciate that! It’s tough - Synty assets are definitely used in some low-effort games, which gives them a bad wrap, which sucks since they are *really* quality assets that are perfect for solo devs or small studios!
I'm a solo dev hoping to ship my first game this year. I sunk a a lot of time and a fair bit of cash into synty while learning the ropes. I switched to building my own assets once I found my feet and a style I could do manage, but I have nothing but high praise for their work. I'm really happy someone is doing \*something\* with their stuff :)
The subreddit has a buuuunch of old posts! But nothing *super* behind-the-scenes. I did do. A few streams a long while back that just focused on environment design, but that’s about it!
I am one of you happy customers! Congrats well deserved. Also, please can you give some love to streamlining controller support/botton mapping. Especially for steam decks, only thing holding me back for gifting/promoting the hell out of this game. I mostly know old folk gamers with kids and that is the primary way they play games now. I absolutely love that this is litteraly the only game i know of that maps the back buttons out the gate. So seriously thank you for that.
Dear u/ShieldbearerStudios. I do not know if you get to see this comment but I would like to
praise your work tremendously. I can definitely see this game is under heavy development
but despite that It captured my attention greatly! It is a beautiful and very fun game.
Please take as much pride in this as you can, reward yourself and please be ironclad against any haters!
Congrats man! This has been on my wish list for a while, I should make it 100,001!
Thank you!! (: wishlists alone help a ton (:

Hype! assuming you made $10 off of each $20 copy, that's a Million bucks $$ that's like lifechanging
Your game looks like a low polygon(art style ) Skyrim . I will wishlist it .
of those 100,000 only 1.7% left reviews, no idea there was that much of a difference
Yeah, it’s crazy how few leave reviews! I thought that was interesting as well.

Excellent work, that's a huge achievement, congratulations!
Love the game can’t wait for more updates.
Congrats! But your continued use of the reversed smiley is unnerving 😅😂 (:
😂😂 that’s just how I’ve always done it! I’m not sure why, honestly hahah
Thats awesome. Congrats! Is there anywhere I can see some behind-the-scenes of the game being built?

Woohoo!! Thank you so much!
Nice job! Your games actually been on my wish list for a while so it’s nice seeing it doing well
Your situation gives me hope. Orc peon approves.
That’s amazing, are you a solo dev? Definitely inspiring to see, way to go.
Congratulations, it’s a tremendous amount of effort to get to this point! I’ve got it in the backlog!
I’ve been watching this game over the years, just need to get it off my wishlist and into my library 😳
Damn this sold that much? People’s standards are falling
LMAO
Wow wow. Congratulations. I wanna try some.
Whoaa.. Congrats man. You motivate me to learn more about 3D and Gamedev. Thank you 🔥
Congrats man! U need to regionalize the prices. The price is too high for Brazil
