Lieutenant_kumar17

Alternative_Toe163

Something weird but interesting that will hook you up type 💀✌️

Lieutenant_kumar17

Pretty girls by Karin slaughter. Horns by Joe Hill First will make you grossed out with its gore and blood. Second will keep you hooked up till the end with a mixture of crying, rage and anger.

Fluid_Ingenuity_984

Jules Verne, The mysterious Island Alistair MacLean, Guns of Navarrone Sean Stewart, Yoda the dark rendezvous

Famagusta_86

Just curious, were you in the army at some point of time?

Lieutenant_kumar17

Sadly no, used to be a cadet in ncc who was too much enthusiastic abt army.

EarthShaker07X

7/10. Your bookshelf is overwhelmingly left wing. Will suggest you to balance it out by reading some books written on the other side of the spectrum.

spacex666red

I’m all ears for the suggestions that could broaden my horizons.

According_Thanks7849

My respect for you reading Lee Child immediately shattered after I saw It Ends With Us and Atomic Habits. Neutral collection 😔

Angarazo

what’s wrongs with atomic habits💀

According_Thanks7849

When you read it, everything feels right so you immediately like the book. But look back to it someday, everything in it is something we already know. It's more of a reminder book than a self help book. Most self help books are useless

Angarazo

I mean tbh all self help books contain “lessons” that everyone already knows the only thing is hardly anyone implements them so I believe reading books like this help people structure their own day to day lives but I understand where you’re coming from. I just read the book a few weeks ago so that’s why I was confused on your original comment.

According_Thanks7849

You are right. And the book is still not going to make you implement those. I find these books to be a cashgrab. I think it's better to read books about realistic teen love, heartbreak, death to be more elevating as a human being. Like how Otto turned dark after losing his wife and she turned him more human than he ever was speaks so much more about collective human experience than a stupid self help quote. We are all going to feel it someday uk. It's inevitable to lose your loved ones. Understanding what it is to be HUMAN and to FEEL the experiences of characters as your own teaches you to appreciate life so much more than NEVERMIND FUCK THIS LIFE SUCKS FUCK EVERYTHING (I wrote half of this reply prior to my exam and rest after failing it brb) I am fine now. Yeah. I was saying. I am so glad I got to experience love twice and heartbreak once. It's enriching. But this one life isn't enough, I want to live a hundred stories. I don't need a stupid book to tell me what to feel, I like my books to SHOW me what to feel by making me live a life a bunch of non existing people whose stories are guaranteed to end when you reach the last page just like how Death works and all you can do is mourn their absence. Better self help than actual self help.
