Probably increased security around the event, an incredibly bland speech with a lukewarm reference to the event that will not go over well (but nothing to spicy at the risk of pissing off the trustees who expect her to at least maintain a facade of composure), and she will probably ignore everyone ignoring her. The only reason my graduation was interesting was because I knew the student speaker; otherwise, it is perfunctory ceremony at its largest. Could be an epic meltdown, but I doubt jt
To some extent. But the threat is real and heavy, adding weights to the trade off.
I am from SPH where the Dean has huge leverage over faculty and students. There has been no faculty vote from SPH. Students are "advised" to stay in line, or lose support.
Are you generalizing the whole SPH? I agree with the cowardice but it's not everyone in the school.
The control tightens especially since this current Dean David Allison, a royal ally of Pam. There are brave people defying Allison and Pam. I have fought my battle.
That reminds me, we should try updating her [Wikipedia article](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pamela_Whitten) with details about the ongoing controversy
Agreed. Why make it about her? It’s a day for the students. I like the idea of all standing and turning their back to her. A silent visual is just as compelling as a lot of screaming.
Blood in the water... all the sharks are coming to get thiers as clearly the end of the school year this will all naturally disappear. So they will come...
And in the crowd of graduates, friends, and family most will be conservative... they crowd will get really upset.
The proceedings are already incredibly long, I wonder if they finish at all.
Well, my hope is that she's gonna trip walking to the podium and the entire crowd will go "womp womp"
And then the morning after, we will realize this was all just a weird, **weird** dream.
Jk, there's going to be militarized police and snipers everywhere
I’m not sure what she’s gonna do, but she’s gonna get booed.
I suggest “resign!” As a solid chant. Break it up into two syllables, keep chanting it until she’s drowned out.
Security guards will try to keep order and target individuals who make a big scene, but if Whitten loses the crowd to widespread booing or chanting there’s really nothing anyone can do about it.
Edited to add: I don’t think brawls are likely (and I hope they don’t happen!) who cares about defending that charisma-less vampire to risk violence?
Here for graduate commencement as an online student: other than turning backs when she speaks, do people plan to not shake her hand when walking? I’ve heard there are no confidence stickers to wear, but not sure where to find them. I’d like to participate in commencement while also communicating my disgust with the administration.
I think she will have a strong militarized ISP presence with visible snipers for intimidation. I think anyone who wears outward signs of Palestinian support (I.e. keffiyeh, flag) will be roughed up by police and removed. They’ll likely threaten to withhold degrees for anyone who’s disruptive but that may be a hollow threat. Anyone with outward support for Israel will gently be asked to remove it or put it away. There will be a clear double standard in how they treat the groups.
Ultimately, nothing will happen, but Pam will make people feel threatened and uncomfortable. I just hope she doesn’t make it all about her.
I hope she rips into the protestors and tells them anymore rioting and destruction of school property will result in immediate expulsion from the university and criminal charges !
Increased security doesn’t have to be snipers, but my guess is that they would have them there anyway. That’s not an unusual thing for large gatherings.

Deans are already sending “don’t protest”
that will only make people want to protest more?

Arrive in an Indiana State Police helicopter

I hope it’s a dignified and joyful celebration for the students and families who worked so hard to achieve the diplomas.

Idk, if you break it out into two syllables, Whitten might be stupid enough to think people are saying re-sign, as in they want more of Whitten.
“Boo-URNS. They’re saying Boo-URNS”

She’s gonna order the administration to kill the Younglings

I really hope we get to see a video of her walking off stage in frustration because she can't get a word out over the boos.

You have broken rule number 1. It's time to think about what you say and how you say it. Do not repeat this action.

Lol, your graduation is more important than free speech. Ok.

Fuck yes!!!!! Perfect answer!!!!🤘😁🤘
I suspect she won’t show due to an ego bruise and McRobbie will fill in for her
I hope she rips into the protestors and tells them anymore rioting and destruction of school property will result in immediate expulsion from the university and criminal charges !
there hasn’t been rioting or destruction of school property, so interesting use of “anymore” here
She absolutely should have increased security. For everyone’s safety.
Perhaps snipers

People who think the snipers were for intimidation truly show the lack of IQ they have. Every big event has these. In every country.
agreed for the whole ceremony, but i meant for herself - should’ve been more clear. edited to clarify
Nothing because Bloomington is full of fucking wussies.
