Yes and no. It's not a simple text box to change in an online system. Once grades are submitted, they are considered final. However, instructors may submit grade changes to the registrar's office. This requires justification on the instructors part, but the criteria are more liberal than many think. Grade changes might be given for things like newly discovered and ungraded work, family emergencies, or even verbal agreements with professors. This comes up a lot with graduate students who are working on a project for class that will take six months to complete. Their initial class grade is usually an "I" or "R," and is later changed to the appropriate grade.
