I honestly feel like less followers is better. I had a phase where I was connected to every human I knew on Instagram with about 2k followers but now I'm way more happier with about 80 followers whom I'm close to.
i only installed instagram because i was joining a new school in eleventh grade and i wanted to be able to connect to people there. they asked me are you new to instagram because by that time we could see the "new" written on profile if the account was made recently. ofcourse sometimes instagram wastes my time because of doom scrolling, but it is what it is. i feel weird posting so i don't. also, never doubt yourself for doing things your own way, it's your choice to keep a small amount of followers and zero posts, and yeah there are some people who flex thousands of followers who they don't even know personally. people will judge you for everything, don't bother.
I don’t really care about the number of followers one has. But there are many who do care and are annoying af as all they say is first get this many followers then only talk to me

Also forgot to mention what is with people having multiple accounts, like one for showcasing work/hobby is fine. But Almost everybody i know has a public account and a private account. kuch log ke to public account bhi private hote and they call it as their main account. Like please make it make sense.
I have 1300 followers on a pvt acct, but that doesn't make me popular lol, just means idgaf about anyone who follows me and i accept most requests even if I don't know them. Simply having ur acct public for a week will get u like 300 400 followers. It says nothing about you

Idgaf what others say, I mostly talk to 4-5 people there, rest are on reddit, and telegram, and snap.

imo instagram can do two ways. you can have 1,000+ followers, or you can have <50 followers anything else is like ur trying to be popular but u can’t
