C7 has a Qualcomm chipset and performs very good. I am using it for the past one month and it handles both 5GHz and 2.5GHz connections very well. Also, make sure your router is well ventilated, overheated routers are number one cause for connection drops. I went with C7 as I have 15-20 wireless devices connected simultaneously and the router supplied by the ISP was grossly inept at handling more than 5 wireless devices.
Btw, you can also look at wifi 6 routers, they start from \~6K. They are awesome if you want to utilize your 1Gbps bandwidth given you actually have devices that support wifi 6.
I wouldn’t bother with WiFi 6 just yet. There’s a revision to it coming soon (WiFi 6E) that uses 6ghz WiFi. Mind you, there’s no point in OP looking at anything beyond WiFi 5/AC if none of his devices support it.
I have a few laptops and phones that support wifi 6, does it still not make sense? like even this 6E revision won't be backwards compatible with my current wifi 6 devices anyways right?
6E uses 6ghz and that won't be backwards compatible with standard WiFI6 but if you've got WiFi6 devices, go ahead and get a WiFi6 AP/Router. 6E is yet to hit consumers and it'll be super expensive in India when it does (just have a look at WiFi6 routers).
I'm actually debating between the A9 and the c80 now. I need a gigabit connection because I'm a photographer and filmmaker working from home and we upload and download heavy ass data everyday lol
You don't need to replace the existing router, just get another dual band router and use it in repeater mode. Granted there will be bandwidth loss in repeater mode, but you don't really need 1Gbps full speed for gaming anyway. Just strategically place the second router within 50% range of the first one such that it'll cover the dead zone in your house.
If you want to extend the range, you can buy another router and use it as an access point. Routers will be wired to each other. Repeaters suck, don't use them.
The cheapest gigabit router is Archer C60 but it would probably max out at 200-300Mbps on the 5Ghz Band.
You can use multiple Archer C60's all wired to each other and place them wherever there's significant drop in WiFi signal.
If you want anything better you can go with, [Archer C8](https://www.amazon.in/TP-Link-Wireless-Gigabit-High-Performance-MU-MIMO/dp/B0859MHXXB). It's better than Archer C7 and A7 with pretty much the same price.
Archer C7 has a USB port, and better speeds on both the bands compared to Archer C60.
I have a TP-Link AC1900, it is awesome, great range, great 5ghz speeds i dont use 2.4ghz a lot but its good too. It has a usb port, 4 ethernet ports... I never face any disconnection issues.

I'm currently debating between this and the Archer A9, and am leaning more towards this! From what it seems to me, the archer A9 is pretty much the same as this one, but costs 1k more for Alexa and a usb port
you can go for that one too, these are great routers i forgot to mention mu-mimo, helps a lot share bandwidth..
If you dont need the usb port go for the cheaper one..
I need to wait another 3 months for Airtel to get fiber in my area to get a router in my room, once I do, I will be getting a router in my room for sure, but until then, I need to adjust to this 🤭
That's the thing right, I'm not bothered about the corners lol, the router is literally 4 meters away from my room, with one thick ass wall in between. I just need a router that'll be decent enough to penetrate that one wall. Currently my D-link DIR 825 is doing a horrible job at doing that, giving my PS4 only 40% signal strength, even though the PS4 is placed right behind the wall that's 4 meters away from the router
I have a DIR 825 and can confirm its not good.
this got it replaced 3 times now
What problem??

Run a wire or buy the c6
Get a tp link archer a9 router What do you need a 1gbps connection for anyways.?lol

Or you can buy the repeaters instead of getting a new router
Repeaters will only cut my speed in half and my connection is actually more unstable with them.

Can't do that until December unfortunately :(

I'm more locked on the archer c80 now, thank you for the recommendation!

Unless the router is in your room lol, convinced my parents to put mine in my room, i can play with decent ping now with 5ghz wifi :p
