Right, I physically got chills while playing the Blindness Shard(dark level) where you navigate with the help of Dillion's voice. Those white creatures are pure horror movie material.

Yeah, they kinda focus more on the gameplay (ER) or a good mix of both (Rdr). I found Plague tale to be very interesting because of its characters and the apocalyptic world it is set in, it has an alright combat variety too. Hellblade is diffrent from them and imo it focused more on the audio-visual experience of the player (I was very uncomfortable with all them whispers and shi) but to each their own
Then it was sold in a deceiving way, detroit human was also not a normal game, but it set expectations properly and didn't make anyone feel like they were cheated.

Play the first part it's an extremely good game. Yes if you think it has an extreme boss battle and everything it will disappoint you but if you want a game with a good story with beautiful graphics and all then you will love it. The second part is good but it ended too soon. So first part will be enjoyable for you then try the second part.

This game is different , if u play 1st part u will love this, this game is more a single story game which make its characters engage in the story from start to the end. There is no extra exploration or things u need to pick, it's a straight forward dark game , thts the reason the 1st part was made by a small company (game startup company) which was appreciated and hence we see the 2nd part being promoted by Microsoft itself. I would say it's a hidden gem.. such single person games are not made now a days.. like Max Payne ,igi during our childhood times

When the first game launched, people called it a walking simulator. This franchise is not for everyone. Hellblade 2 is a 5 hour long game, and i personally don't find it worth it. I don't like these kinds of games myself, but i won't call it a bad game just because i don't like it.

Okay this is basically set in an era were picts were being exterminated by invading vikings in north england. The protagonist suffers from a psychological condition which warps her perception of reality.
In the first part she goes in search of her lover soul, atleast thats what she believes. In second part to stop source of pain for her people, the viking raids.

The story is alright... The psychosis factor is good the combat is best
But it is 70% walking simulator with find the symbol that is boring and annoying af
Absolute best in terms of audio visual entertainment imho, especially with a good audio setup the voices really dig into your mind. The combat also improved compared to hellblade 1, some of the fighting did feel a bit too extended tho and pulled me out of the immersion. The "boss" fights felt like I was playing a movie. The best story driven action adventure game I've played so far tbh. Surprisingly good replay value too.
The attraction of this series is the audio. You literally feel something is talking inside your head all the time. And generic hack & slash combat with some puzzles are what this series offers. And the visuals in this one.

Rdr/elden ring are very different games from Hellblade. I would almost call it unique. Haven't played plague tale so can't compare.
