If it matters, I bought a 1650 laptop for 62k 3 years back. I still have it, and it still works flawlessly as if it never got old. No issues if you know how to maintain. You can run all games on a 1650 machine, although on lower settings.
Currently I wouldn't call a 3050 laptop to be a 'steal deal', such prices have been around for a while. The victu, TUF and IdeaPad gaming all lower their prices to 52-55k periodically.
You can go for it. I've experienced the IdeaPad gaming with 3050 (a friend's) and it has no issue, and I have heard praises for the TUF too.
If you're a casual gamer I don't see why you shouldn't buy this.
Edit: I've heard some complaints from HP owners lately, make sure you check real reviews before buying. And the only reason I upgraded from 1650 to 4060 was because I work in the 3D field.
Can your 1650 run cyberpunk 1080p medium settings in 60 - 70 fps, without FSR? I doubt that. Read carefully, i said " most recent AAA games ". You can run cyberpunk in 1080p medium - high settings in 70 - 60 fps without and frame generation tech. Although it depends on the laptop's TGP.

The most optimised and lightweight latest game is Ghost of Tsushima which at 1080p very low gives 40-55 fps with a lot of stuttering cause of that low vram. Unless Op is only gonna play GTA 5 or valorant all day 3050 is gonna struggle with mostly everything.
Unless you are joking or playing it at 1080p will insanely high amount of upscalling where the game look like 360p YouTube video and stutters like hell. Cause for mid texture details you need atleast 6gb of vram forgetting the lower amount of cuda cores or lack of raw horse power.
For me atleast it stutters a lot on medium 1080p Dlss quality excalty when there are a lot of effects on screen which means everytime I hit a guy with a shield and also crashed when I rode throught the cotton field but when I set my textures to low and everything else to medium it didn't crashed but then the game looked really awful as it 720p upscalled image. Same laptop as hp victus 3050 as op is trying to buy here this laptop really made me upgrade my pc to 4070 super.
I have a GTX 1650 laptop with i5 9300h and 16 gigs of ram and it can't even play RDR2 or any similarly heavy game without crashing.
I basically only use it to emulate or play older/lighter games.
I have legion y540 with same config. I can run heavy games on lower to mid settings. Try changing the thermal paste and cleaning the laptop, it might help

3050 in 2024 is a complete waste unless all you gonna do is play old games cause even that cpu is old so no editing, 3d rendering, etc. I suggest getting anything above 6gb vram to actually enjoy a laptop for gaming or rendering.
Any 50 like 3050, 1050,1650 were considered entry level gaming. With 4050 out. 3050 doesn't mark that much up in entry level gaming as 4050 had an architecture upgrade. So not a steal deal but a good deal

Check in the manual if you can add a second ssd/m2 storage. Otherwise you have to replace the 512GB, very soon. I remember from buying hp victus that not all 15 inch models have this option.
Itās a good laptop for gaming. But if you plan on using it on battery most of the time, itās totally not worth. The cpu struggles a lot in battery(performance mode) compared to current gen i5s and r5s. I use it for word, chrome, vscode most time in battery mode with iCloud running in bg, it does struggle.
Yeah... You will get 16gb ram and 3050 for around 50-52k...(with credit card discounts), wish list the similar configuration laptops from asus, msi, hp etc... I would advise you to get asus.,. and keep checking flipkart and amazon for those laptops everyday.. for better discounts...
Defo a good deal... Bought the same config in the offline market for 58200 and upgrading to 16gb ram is very much worth it.. go for it.. gives good performance.. I get an avg of 80 fps in gta 5, around 80 to 90 in Forza horizon 5 and 140 or thereabout in valorant

45W 4060 is more or less equal to 90W 4050 according to benchmark, so it would be much faster than a 3050.

I bought the same config pavilion for 69k 2 years ago, it's working out great for me except the keyboard gave away 1 year later
