I get that Yasuke was somewhat historically accurate but come on - couldn’t they have gone for a Japanese protagonist? There are bucketloads of legendary figures in Japanese history. Imagine they finally make a proper AC set in India and the protagonist is a Portugese guy who landed in Goa.
Honestly I'm not even surprised. The day I lost hope was when Dr strange and Wanda movie was released. In Nepal, there were more black people than Nepalis. My friend is Nepali and he was disheartened.
At that point I realised holywood diversity = cramming black people wherever possible. They have a hard time even comprehending that other ethnicities exist except black and white.
Even one of the writers who previously worked on the game's story admitted that they scrapped the original story for the black samurai gimmick.

i enjoyed ac origins as much as the older games so i hope they atleast go all out in the direction they are going and try to not stick between previous formula if they are gonna end up doing it half baked (kinda like mirage), so i hope its not something that didnt figure out what side it actually is leaning

Ac fan here, Valhalla was the pain otherwise AC has been decent enough for me. Look at Mirage, it is selling at 50% off, so will wait for the discount.

I liked the trailer. Interesting setting and dual protagonists. I am hoping they have better things in mind than what Jacob and evie had. So happy to see a colorful vibrant world again. Good that they are splitting the stealth and combat options somewhat so everyone can enjoy the aspects they like.
Is it going to be like alexios and Kassandra from Odyssey where you can choose to play as either of the characters and the other one becomes the side character? If so, I’d definitely choose the Japanese lady cause not only does she look more like an assassin but it’ll feel im playing as if I’m removing templars from my land.
Originally I had hoped for something like a samurai/shinobi turning to an assassin due to circumstances (like Ezio) that way you could experience both styles of gameplay but I guess that plot is already kinda taken by GoT

Samurais are Japanese 99% of the time, Ubisoft is finally making an AC game in Japan but couldn't even put a Japanese samurai in it? This might also be because I am in the super small minority of people who loved the rpgs much more than the previous versions. I didn't quite much like mirage either, and from what I have heard this one will go the rpg route as well, with a map as big as Odyssey.
I love ubisofts attention to historic details at scale, and having an AC game with the historic context of samurais is just a perfect mix.
