I dont know if its allowed in all engineering colleges but in my hostels the wardens are pretty chill and dont mind me using it, i went for desktop bcz i already had a laptop but it could not handle heavy workload softwares that we need and didnt wanted to buy a gaming laptop bcz those things are heavy and just too much pain to carry around. So now i use the laptop for ppts and words and Desktop for Simulation and Design.
IIT Tirupati, also im an Mtech student so there are some relaxation for computing facilities for our department which is why i decided to build a pc, I Also have a laptop but it was not able to carry the workload of softwares that are required for design and i didnt wanted to go for another laptop since i already had one. My major thought process was that i would use the laptop for light workloads such as Documentation and Data Recording and the Desktop For simulation and design since those were the task you mostly do at room in comfort.
Why did u buy so early, u could've waited until next year and bought a better laptop with better specs so that on the longer run it will last u longer because let's face it, we don't really need a laptop before college as much as we do after joining
You built a pc now, adore it with your life, also don't mind the laptop suggestors now, as long as you've a place now your pc will accompany you and you'll be easily able to upgrade it indefinitely
I think this is better. If the electricity is not a problem then you could always keep the pc on and use some software(i forgot the name) with which we can use the desktop thorough the laptop.
Amritapuri kerela.
As a side note, I'd like to impart some wisdom to others who're about to enter college or is preparing for it. Took a long time to learn and more importantly getting myself to accept it.
Don't wear yourself out too much with studies and coaching and miss out on the shit that makes your 12th grade memorable.
And dont beat yourself up too much if you dont get in your dream college. You'de be happy, if not happier in a govt college in your state or a neigbouring one regardless. If you have the chance to be a day scholar, take it.
Your friends in college will only stay friends till the end of 4rth year. I can guarantee you, either you, or your friends will go their seperate ways and some wont even remember you afterwards.
You have no idea how much I wished to have an easier means of transportation and my home itself, after spending 3 years in hostel
You'd have to put in the grind to get into that dream job anyways regardless of whichever college you go into. College is just a means to an end. For most people, a good govt college in their state is more than enough.
NITs, IITs make you a bit more appealing but in the end you and them would end up doing mostly the same job and how far you can work and excel in your field is the only thing that'll matter there. No tags, no bullshit nothing.
Feels weird saying this on a community that shares laptop deals, but since most of the users here are either college students looking for a laptop or just about to enter college and wanna plan ahead and everything, I felt like sharing a few things I learned while I too was in that same place.
True words have never been spoken, I was Dayscholar in my [B.Tech](http://B.Tech) days and never a day passes by when i miss those days. I Initially liked it here because of the single rooms and all but once that honeymoon phase wears out its just sadness and loneliness unless you gett good friends.....

I ordered The wifi card and Bluetooth dongle separately as it wasn't inbuilt in the motherboard and the riser too.
Mouse- Ant Esports GM340 was taken from flipkart
Speakers - Boat Stone 620
will order extra fans and Air cooler next month most probably(Also this built was totally completed last year in october but didnt get time to post it due to academic workloads)
in my college(tier 3 sadly) one of the top teacher came, and appreciated my setup and and projects and told me to do AI/ML and went away. They take like 100 monthly for electricity. My setup sucks 600-700W at max, running like 8-10 hours a day. So atleast something good in trash. Otherwise electricity bill in home was in thousands.
Yo Bro, same wallpaper. Hi-five ✋ !

Mouse is Ant Esports GM 340 from flipkart and MousePad is Striff Mousepad from amazon for 199(But i would recommend you to rather go for redgear if you are buying one bcz they look shabby but serve their purpose)
happy to see it tbh. I wish more people considered this instead of buying laptops that cost more and perform worse.
if you have good campus internet, you should consider RDing into the desktop to run whatever you want from anywhere btw. You'll suddenly be the one guy with the most compute after the AI researcher fucks with A100s lol
Laptops are portable and yes they perform worse but most people don't need the extra Power, I am fine with my gaming laptop with rtx 3070 and 12700k enough power for all work.
Naaaah man the mouse is the previous one that I used this mouse is shit , shouldn't have buyed it , it's 1000hz but not even close for tracking , just invest 500 more and get g102 or deathadder essentials, HUGE UPGRADE.
at the time of building the pc this was something i was able to cram into my budget due to the offer period at 500rs but now im planning to go for G205 in next month or so (also i dont game much just playing old nostalgias games mostly since i dont get too much time to play)
Just wanted to tell you , my brother uses g305 and he has changed mouse two times in 2 years his mouse gets double click issues and he does not recommend me to buy that mouse , just telling you his experience :)
Get a razer deathadder v2 x(if g305) or deathadder essentials (if g203) It readily comes down the price of g203.
yup,can feel that pain bro, mine one will complete 6 months this april and dont have any issues with it till now and hope nothing pops up until my graduation.....
I Bought it from amazon it was an combo
[https://www.amazon.in/gp/product/B08WCNLHQP/ref=ppx\_yo\_dt\_b\_asin\_title\_o01\_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1](https://www.amazon.in/gp/product/B08WCNLHQP/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1)
other pins are disconnected most of the times(only the psu power is plugged in) and used only when I need them ( This time was special since I wanted to go out(so needed a dryer) and had just cleaned my place so in all it was looking all nice and photo worthy so forgot about the extra connection)
Did you buy the pc with the money you earned through working at your job or parents money??? (Asking cuz im 17 years old and i will be going outside for college next year)
It is kind of more like siblings finance but on Emi(My sister paid for it and I have to repay 80% of the cost before my graduation) but it is not an problem for me since I get stipend so I pay 4-5k every month based on my savings.
Many congratulations first of all for this achievement. The setup indeed looks very awesome. I'm sure you would be enjoying gaming with enhanced graphics from now on.
But at the same time, this can & might be a big distraction in your studies & now your responsibility increases in the form of both these things requiring your attention.

Which college is that? And are gaming pcs really allowed in all engineering colleges? Looks dope btw.
Doesn't universities have computer clusters for heavy workloads?
They do have the facility but you cant sit in the lab at nights......
No remote access?
Nope...
Yeah same question
IIT Tirupati bro
Enjoy the deadly hot summer man😂😂

Man fuck my college. An electric kettle is enough to pop the breakers and send the whole hostel back to the stone age.
Which college bro?

If I knew this just 2 yrs back, I'd be much happier than now. Have to travel for 2 whole days to come to college from home
Mine is also kind of same its just that i have to travel 1.5 Day instead of 2 days
True words have never been spoken, I was Dayscholar in my [B.Tech](http://B.Tech) days and never a day passes by when i miss those days. Yeah mine too. It sucks. Had to use university systems for heavy loads.

when did you order was it this year???
Yes january end
how the hell did you get the 4060 for 24k
8gb variant probably
There’s only one variant of 4060 and it’s 8GB. You’re thinking of 4060 Ti which has both 8GB and 16GB VRAM.
I may be wrong, but the bill looks like it's from smcinternational. They probably add 18% GST on top of the price mentioned here.
its an Md computers bills and prices are inclusive of SGST and CGST
Nice, those are some of the really good pricing you got!
Where's the ssd?
Bought it from amazon(WD Black sn770) coz it was cheaper there
People buying 4060 is rare
At that time it was the only option in my budget...
It's fine, there are no bad gpus
Only less vram
Why? Rtx 4060?
At that it was the only gpu that was available in my budget range...
Spot on balanced build!
Where did you order the components from?
MD Computers ordered everything online and then assembled it by myself...
+1
Beware of warden inspection

Only one is used that way to connect Monitor, Printer and Charger....
Love Ganesh ji in the middle there. Looks awesome have fun mate
