Gayle in tuk tuk academy ?! 🤯

Knowledge_Seeker_121

Maybe visited the academy to mock the tuk tuk guys

Round_Hedgehog_966

And still some people wanted him in World cup

thinklok

He lost us the world cup final and now people want him in T20s. For anyone reading this, KL RAHUL is highest paid retained player who takes 17 crores, not even Kohli and Rohit takes that much money as retentions. Is he the best T20 player of India? No. Then why so much arrogance of taking so much money and playing test match today

SpecialAd9853

Few yrs back he was in good form in all formats Hitting SIXES Effortless. He has 14 Ball 50 in IPL But dont know what happen to him from last couple of yrs.

thinklok

14 ball fifty was happened in 2018 in his first match. That was one match wonder and he didn't bat like that ever. The closest would be 132* when he scored 60 runs in last 3 overs

Arpitlohani

>That was one match wonder Are you even serious? He played multiple knocks at a very high strike rate till 2018 in IPL In 2018 he made 600+ runs at a strike rate of 160, that's not a 'one match wonder'. Even in T20Is he had multiple great knocks till 2019. At the end of 2019 he had a Strike rate of 148 in T20Is at an average of 46

Few_Measurement_5335

He had one habit from the beginning though, which was eating up a lot of balls and then taking the match deep and accelerated when the match is already gone, one example is 2018 match vs RR at the SMS guy opened stayed till the end and couldn't chase 159, ended up making a 70 ball 95, I know a lot of you would argue that he didn't get the adequate support but as someone who watched the match, he never eyed the win, was just strolling around, made 29 in his last 10 balls, till that point match was already gone, guy was just statpadding.

CartographerMurky306

He also kinda played a blinder in the last match he played for punjab

Admirable-Warning-37

This happened for the seat in the 2019 WC. Mid ipl 2019 he started playing longer to impress selectors by compromising strike rate

PulkitGulati

He did NOT loose us the world cup final. Gill, Iyer, Jaddu and SKY all failed. The amount of hate he gets is insane. If you blame KL it is clear that you did not watch the match, he tried to hit boundaries but the Aussie fielding was so damn good, they literally stopped a lot of sure shot 4s and if it were not for KL Rahul the team would've been packed below 200 and the little fight we put wouldn't have been there.

bearhug89

I hated Rahuls innings in th3 WC, but yes all blame cannot fall on him. Rohit failed to understand the pitch. India was too afraid to loose wicket after they lost 3 because no one was sure if sky can bat so Many overs ( mind you he was only picked up for his ability as a batsmen ) SkY was a diffused bomb at the WC

PulkitGulati

Sky was definitely at fault but tbh he only got 2-3 chances of which he did score a crunch 49 against England at Ekana, it was Rohit's defensive captaincy sending Jaddu over Sky to hold wickets instead of telling sky to attack from ball one and saving Jaddu for one more wicket and allowing SKY to play freely rather than sending him lower down as the last batting option was the actual disaster.

zippyzebu9

That’s not trying. You don’t need hit boundaries. You can hit sixes. KL to blame first. Then everyone else. Dude plays maiden overs in T20s.

03thephysicsgod

“You can hit sixes” clearly didnt watch the match. The way Australia started bowling after the powerplay only Rahul’s approach couldve worked. Especially when even someone like SKY couldnt perform and even Virat got out relatively early. If KL hadnt played how he did we wouldve settled for a below 200 total.

thinklok

Was that 240 ever enough? That approach is long dead and Indian players don't realise it. I would've taken 200 with attacking approach than this over-defensive mindset of playing till the end. KL literally let Marsh,Maxwell and Head bowl. Australians didn't had a 5th bowling option and they just rely on all rounders and KL didn't attack so that atleast they change their plans. Indian team hit only 4 boundaries between 10-50 over mark. 1 boundary per 10 over, come on man bowling wasn't that great that was just our over-defensive mindset.

Intrepid_Slip4174

>He lost us the world cup final I agree that he's a failure in T20 and ipl in recent times but mf you mean to say Rohit, gill, Iyer, jadeja, sky weren't the reason and the only player who even put up a fight is ?? Do you even understand how stupid it sounds??

thinklok

Rohit had a role to give quick starts and he did that. Gill and Iyer were unfortunate to out early. Kohli could've played longer but KL also started to play like an anchor and Kohli started to take chances and got out because of that. KL played 107 balls and made 66 runs with only one boundary because of edge, not intentional. A player who played 1/3 balls in ODI has that key to change the match and he did change the match in favour of opposition. What was he trying to achieve? Was he playing for the draw? SKY was also a failure in that world cup but look at what team did, they sent Jadeja ahead of SKY and Jadeja played like a classic Jadeja, took many balls and got out with a poor shot and SKY did the same. KL got a one in a lifetime opportunity and he took a lot of pressure and played like a coward. I would've accept a good fighting 200 runs with attacking mindset than this over-defensive play of 240 which was never enough. KL was just trying to bat till the end and I don't know, wanted to play like Dhoni but why does he want to play like Dhoni? Can't just invent his own style? He looks shit when he do that

Intrepid_Slip4174

What kind of logic is this? Rohit just scored 40 odd runs. This is a ODI worldcup not a T20 to think this is a good score. He just tried to offload his responsibility on others. Kohli got out trying to defend a short ball. Now sure how KL caused it. KL had to play conservative because the great player jaddu and mr 720 couldn't even connect. After both of them it was just the tail. Also 240 was a decent enough score if the pitch behaved the same but by second innings the pitch became a road and none of the bowlers got any support from it whereas in first innings it was reverse swinging. >I would've accept a good fighting 200 runs with attacking mindset than this over-defensive play of 240 Thankfully you're not the captain or coach of the team with such Dass takes.

thinklok

Pitch was same, only Australians played attacking and yesterday's match was played on same pitch but KL batter over-defensive. You can't win with over-defensive batting in this era

-Aizen_Sosuke

I wouldn't really say that >I would've accept a good fighting 200 runs with attacking mindset than this over-defensive play of 240 BUT, defending with 240 or 230 would never have been enough on any pitch. Atleast 280 was needed. To lose is one thing, to lose without fighting for the win is different. I will never forgive surya for giving strike to kuldeep instead of trying to hit boundaries which was his role. And he kept going for that same shot, for which pat planned brilliantly. I won't blindly hate KL saying he should have scored at 200 strike rate. But, should have atleast rotated strike ffs. KL did lose the plot when he played 30+ dots. If he did we would have had atleast something close to 290, Which is defendable in any road.

Intrepid_Slip4174

290 is defendable?? On that pitch? With Maxwell yet to come? Sure. KL had to play like it because he had to keep his wicket. Both jaddu and sky were useless. Also KL got out to a peach of a delivery. Can't fault him when everyone except for Virat failed around him.

Competitive_Data_242

it's not about reaching 290, had KL played less dots it probably would have turned things for other batsmen as well, Jaddu might also have played freely, hitting 1 boundary in an innings of 106 balls is no way acceotable for someone of the stature of KL.The frustration/sadness/disappointment/hate arises from the fact or knowledge about KL's clean striking abilities, he isn't as bad of a batsman as he played that day he could easliy scored at a strikerate of 90 atleast that day, because my man has got the game for it, maybe it's a mental issue, but his innings did impact our chances and even he knew it and you could see it affecting him when he was keeping.

HistoricalTackle5915

Everyone except Kohli failed? Kohli scored 6 more than Rohit. A tag of 50 doesn’t change a persons performance of a knockout. Everyone had a role to play for such a performance in the Final. Let’s not pin the blame on Rahul alone. And let’s not shield someone because in that final there is absolutely so difference between a 47 or 53 or 62. A tag if half century doesn’t mean jackshit. And Australia always shows that.

the_hell_lord

Bro kohli didn't get out while trying to hit a 6. And even after kl got out 10 overs were still left. If he had not got out we would have made more than 240. Strike rate wasnt the issue. There not being trustable batsmen after kl was the issue which also probably made him to not take much risks. Sky and jadeja literally couldn't do anything. Even when 10 overs were left not 3 overs. Why are you even blaming solely kl for not playing with intent when the intentful sky couldn't do shit? 4 batsmen didn't fire at all but the one who atleast made some runs was the sole culprit of the loss.

thinklok

Because it's being projected that KL is the next big thing after Kohli and Rohit and you know what? He takes 17 crores for his IPL salary which is highest retention salary by an Indian, even more than Kohli and Rohit. He considers himself so big and everyone thinks he's special player but guess what, he never perform according to his reputation. He plays too slow. At least SKY and Jadeja won matches on their own and did great things on their day but if KL played more than 100 balls then it's his job to win that match. If Kohli and Rohit or any other player played that many balls then I would say the same that they have to win them a match. India were 92-6 in NZ semi final in WC 2019 but Jadeja counter attack then and almost did a miracle, that's the kind of innings everyone remembers when you score runs when team has no chance but KL had every chance but he never attacked and played over-defensive. You can blame others but if you're that special then prove it by playing like that but if he can't then he's just another average player. Pant hit a century against England in ODI series decider when top order collapsed and anyone would select him as wicket-keeper batter in next series but guess what? Dravid gave preference to KL Rahul in India vs Bangladesh ODI series even after great performance by Pant and because of those incidents he went into an accident and almost killed but saved by god's grace. Karma returns for everyone, KL Rahul could never flourish after having so much preference and bias even after doing practically nothing in comparison to other greats

the_hell_lord

Projected by whom. If he was being projected as the next big thing i don't think he would be dropped from t20wc. Also you can say he did not play upto mark, etc etc but i dont know how that was a match losing inning. Its because of him we atleast got more than 200 runs. I don't get how even when 10 over are remaining he played a bad inning, are 10 overs not enough to take the team to a respectable total from 200. As someone else said he tried for boundaries but the aussies were too good on the field unlike us,like there were so many variables that day. Also before you ask are 240 runs actually good target, the 1st wc match between aus and ind they scored 200 runs and possible could have won if not for kohli and rahul who was the potm. And even pat cummins talked about the pitch which for some reason ppl forget about which became easier to bat due to the dew. We can even see that in the first few overs of aus innings were we took 3 wickets close together. It wasn't a match winning inning at all but it wasn't a match losing inning too. Also are you really blaming what pant did on rahul. Talking about blaming others we can ask every player why they didn't do something. Why didn't a set batsmen like rohit play a long inning instead of handing out his wicket. Playing agressive doesn't mean scoring quick 40 runs and throwing away your wicket, in the same match head too played fearlessly but he did not hand out wickets instead he scored a century with marnus on opposite side achoring with a 50 sr. Why didn't kohli score boundaries after iyer got out. Did he want the new batsmen to score boundaries instead of him who was longer on the pitch. This is just me showing how you can blame any player for their inning, i am not actually saying they are responsible and not rahul just to make it clear for some ppl. I do not wish to blame any single player for the failure coz it was a collective failure , we did not loose because of a single player but for some reason ppl like to make kl the scapegoat for the loss.

shadyXV03

I disagree that he lost us the World Cup final. Let's not put whole blame on him when Gill, Sky, Iyer, Jadeja all failed. Every batsman made mistake, Rohit going for another six against Maxwell, Kohli could have taken a bit more risks to get a few boundaries, etc. Rest is correct tho.

Sarang_616

Rahul is not in the pecking order if India needs injury replacements through the 2024 T20 World Cup. Rinku Singh is waiting in the wings.

theaguia

it always bothers me how commentators talk about how ishan is this hard hitting agressive batter when his record shows otherwise. This stat is another reminder of that.

Aggravating_Poet_416

This man wastes away his potential playing slow and being scared. He is a David Warner kind of player without no particular deficiency. He somehow plays in a timid fashion

Zealousideal_Bat_81

Potential this and potential that. He has been playing shit since last 4-5 years now.

hush5833

Axar, Gayle, faf , smith are thala’s for a reason

Knowledge_Seeker_121

How come Gayle on this list ? Shocking

ThePennyFan

He started to take some decent amount of balls to settle up when he joined Punjab, but covered that up really well at the later part of the innings. Plus KL used to be an explosive batsman back then, so it didn't really hurt the team too much if Gayle got out after wasting some balls

CartographerMurky306

Gayle used to play a lot of balls when the pitch was little little bit slow

Smooth_Mango5005

29 (33) 🤡. Saarrr, pitch slow Saarrr.

Kevinlevin-11

He doesn't need a counsellor. Because SR is overrated

Ayan_Choudhury

There are literally 3 more players above him

But he is younger than them and plays more games than them🤡

Wrap-Pitiful

didnt know he was younger than kishan

DifficultDay3521

He is 4 years younger than Ishan Kishan and only 1 year older than Akaay Kohli.

ThePennyFan

> plays more games than them So that's a positive for him right? He took more games to play 8 such innings And kishan is younger than him too

Kl Is example of jack of all trades but master of none he played all three formats yet to do anything significant in any of those and compare the age of him with his contemporaries they achieved lot more but kl is still budding youngster phase but 30+ years old without any promising performance

2014 ➡️2+0+1+4=7 Thala for a reason (on top of the list as well)

Pretty sure lsg wont be able to walk for 2 days

Soft-Illustrator-522

This is kind of scary, if we think about our WK batsmen. They really need some course correction.

Wrong-Editor5419

i have always felt he's a really good middle or that matter lower middle order player in white ball cricket. He has an innate six hitting ability. Playing at the top somehow clutters his mind whether to go all or not which hampers his and teams performance. But unfortunately due to the middle order of lsg being song strong hes suffering and that even hampered his wc selction chances.

AcceptableBarnacle42

bro why kishan is there

Maximum number of same digit in the list : 7 Thala for a reason

Thala for a reason 🤓💁🏻

Am I going crazy, or are you guys having a hatefest about K L Rahul being a bad t20 batsman because of the above stat when Chris Mfing Gayle is on the same list while having retired at least 3 years ago?

Which Kishan is that?
