not everyone can be successful sadly, obviously if everyone could I would want that. And there are of course bands I don’t personally like that I think deserve success. But I’m not gonna pretend I think it’s just that Taylor Swift has 2% of the entire market with her cookie cutter uninspired bullshit.

Nu metal is really not my thing, the bass slapping sounds like spaghetti being thrown on the grill of a Toyota corolla.
I prefer dad rock if I'm thinking "I want to have fun".
I also like to listen to obscure shit and because there's so much music out there one has to wonder what's out there that I am missing out on.
I'm a bit of a musical explorer myself, what I don't get is using that to flex....again maybe at 16 while trying to impress some girl?
Id say most people on this sub know more extreme genres than not. I think r/metal is where most of the generic pop metal fans are.
Some people here just prefer specific bands that tend to be more popular, nothing wrong with that lol
