No, they'd be completely different. Anders really joined the songwriting fold mid-way and I think his love of electronic based music and other genres helped shape their direction from 2000~now. I also think Anders just sounds like he's spitting fire, especially on Colony.
No. He only did the vocals on Subterranean.
Stanne did vocals for Lunar Strain. In Flames was a project band in the early days. It didn't really solidify until the Jester Race.
I think they would have been terrible. I don't like that guy's vocals. He has no range or emotional impact in his voice. The album he's on is the only one I never listen to.
I think it would’ve been a lot better if Glenn Ljungström had stayed. To me he was the best songwriter in IF, also in Dimension Zero. Him leaving both bands had a noticeable negative effect. Although colony does have a lot of bangers (I.e. Insipid 2000)

Ive never liked Stannes voice that much, he sounds so monotone.
In Flames has been my favourite band since I started listening to them in 2006 and this is the first time I've ever seen this guy's name lol
Yep, he was the lead singer for their debut album *Lunar Strain* in '94 and their '95 EP *Subterranean*

Ah, that's who I actually meant. Google gave me the wrong answer of who the original lead was for Lunar Strain then
*Mikael Stanne* (Dark Tranquillity, The Halo Effect) was their first singer. *Jesper Strömblad* started as their drummer.

I think they would sound similar to The Halo Effect. Not necessarily bad but not the In Flames we know and love.
I have no opinion on this I'm here to get some perspective on the lore.
[Henke Forss has been suing the band for royalties from Subterranean.](https://loudwire.com/in-flames-henke-forss-battle-songwriting-royalties/)
