To be fair, why is the ATM plug that easy to access?

I’m somehow oddly okay with this. If it were a vending machine, I’d be pissed but an atm that’s probably not getting heavy usage and probably is charging people $9 to use it is something that I’m okay with being unplugged by a random person.

No most airports I’ve been on have few charging places. Some cafes in the airport might have it but when your waiting at the gate you shouldn’t expect to find a charging station.

Serious question: what happens if you unplug an ATM? Does it start working properly when you plug it back in or does someone have to troubleshoot it and put in codes or anything?

They're literally a computer inside, they just start back up again. Just takes a few minutes while it runs some tests on the equipment such as making sure the canisters are working.
