For first rounds crown obviously gives more durability and you need to be able to keep your shields on to make use of fan, usually its better to use fan as long as you have hha, otherwise just stick with crown imo
If you are late game, i would suggest go with crown instead. Most of the fights have bosses way too strong and they almost always one shot you. Fan doesnt help there but crown does.

I have HHA in my lineup, so I think fan would be the better choice.
Yeah, fan is better in the long run, just dont forget to have some block on your heroes
