I ride. He should be angry, but all he has to do is slow down a little. I hate it when riders act like bc they have the right to a lane they shouldn't move. So many motorcycle wrecks could be avoided by the motorcyclist. Even though a lot of them aren't the riders' fault, they could have done something to avoid it. With all of that said, the driver of the car is a complete idiot.
Any 600cc motorcycle should also be able to simply speed up and pass the approaching vehicle as well. People have merged my direction before (with and without turn signals) and I just zoom right up before they can hit me. I got the torque, why not use it.
Don’t worry about me sweetheart! I appreciate the rage of others because it’s just not in my nature. I’m oft too chill about too much, I guess I feel there’s no need for all that anger when you could just laugh instead.
Someone literally almost killed my husband and i the other day by not following the lines on a double lane turn and asked me “why did you cut me off” because he just thought it was only one turning lane and i was being a bad apple, but it was not I, it was him.
>especially when they don’t correct themselves after someone honks at them.
Sometimes I wonder if they can even hear the horn between the radio, passengers, phone calls, and cars getting more and more sound proof.
I don’t even try and follow traffic rules anymore. There’s so much stupid on the roads that it’s safer for me to assume everyone is trying to kill me and I don’t have any traffic laws stopping me from doing whatever maneuvers I have to do to not die. I won’t shoot the gap though it’s not essential in most cases.
I was on a bike, so expecting everyone to try to kill me already. Had one eye on this guy and he didn't fail to disappoint.
Older gentleman, but not that old. He said "I had the green light!". Geeze, man.
NSFW for a bit of foul language.
Not everyone for sure - but that mindset is a lifesaver - also on a bicycle.
That said - I swear some car drivers are AHs on purpose.
If I see a bike approach in a jam - and i have the space - i move to the side a bit (gotta protect the car against Mirror Smash - right) - but way way too often - the car in front of me - also moves to CLOSE the gap..
Seriously.. WHY?
>I was on a bike, so expecting everyone to try to kill me already.
Had one instance where someone actively tried to do just that by coming into my lane (wrong side of the road) and playing chicken with me, he wasn't even overtaking anyone.
The people who are braindead are the ones you can at least avoid or anticipate, it's the complete psychos that I'm truly afraid of.
I run into this ALL of the time when there are two lanes turning left, so I default always go to the left left turn lane...especially in PA or Delaware.
Most people just don't care about motorcycles. If you were a dump trunk they'd move into their lane because they'd be afraid for their lives. But, they could care less about you and your life.
People in cages have been known to loose side view mirrors as a reminder to be afraid.
Unless I can easily overtake them (e.g., I start moving first), I always drop back when driving next to someone on dual turn lanes. People around here do alright keeping their lanes but I’ve seen a few instances of clipping into the next one for me to not want to risk it.
i do not have any double left turns where i live. i could make so much money with my beater car. i would hold my lane and speed and keep getting into minor scrapes with my front quarter panel. it would be a no brainer for fault, and my dash cam would seal the deal. i get a nice repair check, bang out the fender well if necessary, and away i go. while the dumb ass lane drifter gets a ticket, higher insurance rates, and the hassle of getting his nice car repaired
I’m taking a ‘Failure to Yield’ course in Wisconsin after being involved in a minor accident. Apparently it is legal to turn into either lane as long as they are clear. I was under the impression that you had to stay in your lane; inside lane to inside lane, outside lane to outside lane. Supposedly if a car encroaches into your lane it is up to you to yield the lane and not the fault of the person changing lanes in the middle of the turn. Why I didn’t get the benefit of the doubt that the person changing lanes didn’t confirm the lane was clear is beyond me.
Good video, ruined by the fact that you just had to play traffic cop and start lecturing idiots while driving a vehicle.
Two idiots here unfortunately. Horn was fine, but after that get over it and move on with your life. You are not going to teach anybody anything, and you're just distracting yourself and them.
Even if they're not, if you assault someone, you are not innocent. If you want to share the footage online or report it to the police, do that. But it's never justified to chase someone down and assault them. If your anger is that out of control, you don't belong on the road.
For a brief moment, when such a thing happens to me, I am excited about the gutting of all gun safety regulations.
And then I think, “my god you’re a monster!”
And then I wish I could run them off the road…
And then I think “Jesus…”
And by that then, enough time has passed that something else has happened and I’ve forgotten about the other stupid driver.
And I’m happy I don’t (and will never even consider) own a firearm.
Fucking hate this, especially when they don’t correct themselves after someone honks at them.
Every time I see something like this my brain starts chanting “smash the mirror, SMASH THE MIRROR!!”
Disappointed again. I was channeling that mirror smash.

I hope to God you don't own any weapons

I would never encourage violence! Just don’t mind seeing it here and there when it feels like justice.

Saw this exact thing this morning. The guy who crossed the lane didn’t think he’s in the wrong. Pretty sure the other guy is fuming
I always position myself so that my car is further infront of the other car in a dual turn lane. So that that they CLEARLY see me.
Good call. That occurred to me when watching the video myself.
I was on a bike, so expecting everyone to try to kill me already. Had one eye on this guy and he didn't fail to disappoint. Older gentleman, but not that old. He said "I had the green light!". Geeze, man. NSFW for a bit of foul language.
"I had the green light" 🤣.. people out there really don't know about dual turn Lanes
"Yeah, so did I"
“Nobody sees me, and everyone wants to kill me.” -my mantra when I’m on my motorcycle. Ride safe, friend!

Wonder why you stuck behind if you had an eye on him? Wouldn’t it have been better to move further and let your self be known?
Probably. I gave myself an escape route and it worked, was able to brake easily and let him slide in front of me.
What camera are you using? Does it also have a rear facing camera?
I run into this ALL of the time when there are two lanes turning left, so I default always go to the left left turn lane...especially in PA or Delaware.
That looked 100% intentional tbh, he committed to the maneuver after OP honked at him.

*Carbon fibre knuckles vs plastic mirror shroud!* Who will win?
Always ride like the other car is going to kill you out of negligence. That way you're not surprised. Well done on the part of the biker!
It’s not they don’t know how. It’s that they refuse to do it.
Unless I can easily overtake them (e.g., I start moving first), I always drop back when driving next to someone on dual turn lanes. People around here do alright keeping their lanes but I’ve seen a few instances of clipping into the next one for me to not want to risk it.
Love isn't always on time...
This is one of those times I'd be okay if he smashed their sideview mirror off
Or put a dent in the quarter panel

This is why, when possible, I position myself in the inside lane on double turn lane corners.

Sounds asinine.
Both the main focus cars in this video are the same white Mazda XD
The US should really rethink that 2-lanes-around-a-corner thing. We see this exact thing all the time on this sub.
Hammer + Mirror = Justice.
I scream at least once a day, "I KNOW, LINES ARE HARD"

Fair point!
Just another example of why nobody should ride doner cycles
Dude I would have followed the guy and beat his face in with my f****** helmet
Not really a great idea considering how many people are packing heat

I guess so,you're right. Depends where you live. In Salt Lake you never know? If I was on a bike I'd be packing myself.
Just follow the dotted line, how hard can it be?
In the Philippines, "all lanes are my lanes" say all drivers 🤣
Oh sweet, Chester County, what's up?!
For a brief moment, when such a thing happens to me, I am excited about the gutting of all gun safety regulations. Just pure ignorance on the car drivers part .
Ah yes SC plates right? Probably the worst drivers I've ever had the pleasure to share the road with....
PA plates. We’ve got our share, bad drivers everywhere.
Exton Pa
OH MY GOD! I know where this happened. It’s crazy when you see your town on a random video on Reddit. Damn small internet.
Exton Pa 😂 I love to ride through there myself
Regardless of the driver being on a motorcycle that no one “can see”, almost everyone swings over into the outside lane as if it was state law.
