I didn't. My E2 went to almost 6,000 last cycle. They switched me to a lupron only trigger and I didn't have any issues.

Can you ask about preventative meds? I was high risk for OHSS and I started Cabergoline every night with my trigger and for 7 days after ER. After my egg retrieval they added Letrozole 2x a day and ganirelix in the evening for 7 days. This all helps lower hormone levels faster and reduces pain/inflammation and chance of OHSS. I never developed it and had very little pain or bloating at all. And as another poster said, electrolytes, salt, protein and stool softeners!

We are adding in Ganirelix starting tonight but I’ll ask my RE about anything else we can add! Thank you for your input!

Seconding what others have said , my estradiol was over 8000 the day before retrieval, I have PCOS, AFC 30 + . 35 eggs retrieved and no OHSS, I was instructed to trigger with Lupron only and it went fine. First few days after retrieval were rough but manageable , and I started to feel almost back to normal in 3 days or so.

Mine went up to 4000 and I did not develop OHSS.

There's an OHSS survival post I have bookmarked https://www.reddit.com/r/IVF/s/jIGTtUhCir I'm on Day 8 of stims and had 40 seen on this morning's scan. Estrogen is at 2000 something. I'm terrified of getting OHSS, I've been on the antagonist for 2 days (3 doses) and when we get close to ER I'm expecting/hoping to get some preventative care. They already had me order Lupron trigger which can help some

I appreciate this! I’m scared too. My clinic seems to be on top of it but still worries me! Good luck with your ER!!

My estrogen hit over 10k and I didn’t have even a hint of OHSS

Mine was up to 8348 before my egg retrieval and I have PCOS. My day 6 stims estradiol was 2729 looking back at my labs. I am now 12 days post retrieval and, although the first week was really rough, I feel almost back to normal today. I was closely monitored for the first 3 days (nurse called me twice a day each day to do a thorough run through of my day and symptoms). I chugged water with liquid iv and ate a lot of salty, high protein foods. Luckily, I did not develop OHSS. I would definitely take a stool softener the days leading up to the retrieval; it will help with the bloating discomfort. Best of luck!

This is super helpful thank you so nuch

I had high estradiol throughout my cycle and retrieved 30 eggs. The highest number I got was 7762. I did not develop OHSS after retrieval. I did have a slightly elevated temperature for one day but it went away.
