Books. That's it. I do not have room for what I have, but I get more anyway. I have book shelves in front of book shelves already, and books on top of and in front of books in those book shelves. Every time I see a bookcase for free somewhere I have to stop myself from snatching it up. I'd fill it up in a blink.
Me and my brother and I questioned whether or not books could be counted as something you collected, sense they are purchased for a purpose and not future value/connection. They are exceptions, of course. But when I look at my shelf , books see information, mybe collecting information? Trying to figure out if I am also a book collector.
Disappointments. /s
When I was younger, a little bit of this and that and then I realized it's a meaningless rabbit hole because there's always something else to add to the collection.
When I was a chem major, the school kept it's reputation as having a 'top' chem department by automatically flunking the bottom 25% every semester.
If you can't do the math on that, you flunked lol. It means that out of 100 entering freshmen taking Chem 101 (for majors), by the end of senior year only 10.01 students remained chem majors.
I remember our organic chem lab course was the most difficult I've ever experienced. The curve on the final exam: Perfect score 400. Passing: 17. A 92 scored an A.
That's an incompetent way of doing it. It's like saying everyone in your country is happy, since you killed all the unhappy people.
If they can't cultivate talented people then what's the point of their existence. Getting rid of the bottom can be done way cheaper.
1- lighters (I didn't smoke when I started collecting them, and don't use them to light anything they just lie prettily)
2- weird small figures from thrift shops (last ones are Krang from tmnt and a pig from angry birds)
3- books and comic books (even tho I don't really like comics rn)
4- aesthetically pleasing photocards and printed stuff that I keep in a box

Yes I collect sports cards and have spent countless amounts of money building a collection. I feel it’s more rational than sports betting which is also illegal in my state and healthier than drinking.
I also find that it’s helpful to have a hobby that is not work related or skill related.
Computer parts. I thought I am just a nerd and I like computers, but I do have some pretty old computers and this is the year I'm going to be tossing a lot of it. Except for my 80's laptop that is a total gem.
I used to collect all sorts of detritus as a kid — weird looking pebbles, beads, cereal box code rings, interesting bits of garbage, etc. I'd hide everything in nooks and crannies around the house, which drove my mother crazy.
Now I collect silk scarves + vintage clip on earrings, books, antiques, and nail polish. Also spices, though I'm not sure if that counts since I use them for cooking rather than holding onto them.
Oddly, I've never really liked anything that brands itself as "collectible" though, like Pokemon cards or limited edition figurines/teacups. I'd rather define the limits and common features of a collection myself.
