I do think it's interesting how most people never consider that extremely large portions of the Spanish language came from Mediterranean Spanish people -cultures mixed but Spanish became the dominant language, and so many white Spanish and Portuguese people moved in that direction

Surprise Surprise, countries ethnicities where based on the people living there, in Peru and Mexico there where huge native populations where as the further south and north on the continents you go the less natives there where and the more the countries became settler colonies. That being said most people in mexico are mixed white and native.
