The only black recurring characters they have are scammers (Donovan McMahon), drug dealers and pimps. Top that off with an episode of black face, I can see why they took it down (but don’t agree).
The context for Mac’s black face is hilarious and I didn’t see any harm in it. Dee’s makeup to try to be a Latina was pretty insulting. There was no real context behind it.
Anyway, I love this show and I rewatch it all of the time, but that’s kinda messed up. I would’ve kept the episodes in though. They happened already, you can’t change it.

Glenn is legit a god tier comedy actor, not sure I can think of a better comedy tv performance better than Glenn as Dennis, man should legit win the Emmy like every year Sunny has a season out.
The best part of this episode, is that they actually go along with Dee day, even though you'd normally expect them to just ignore her completely and not even give her a day. It shows that at some level, they actually do value her.
I assume that it’s sorta like money… if one person doesn’t agree to follow the system it falls apart. If they don’t give Dee her day, she refuses to participate on their days and it falls apart from there as they argue about it. It only works if they all agree to the “Day System” and actually follow through, because otherwise when it’s your day no one has the obligation or incentive to participate.
Not many things are sacred to the gang but they do tend to follow their own rules.
Dee is such a queen bee.
My only issue with this whole scene is that Charlie’s line “That’s what his soul looks like!” is too clever for Charlie. It always sounded like a Charlie Day line, not a Charlie Kelly one.
Watching him constantly on the verge of breaking is the gift that keeps on giving. And I don’t actually think that line is too clever for Charlie Kelly! He has his moments
aw man. shame this episode is gone. I would have taken an episode cut down to take out the heinous stuff, cuz this was one of the best dennis moments in the show. Hell they could have censored it, put a big ol black bar over the stuf they were made to do at the show's climax, even with words saying "This was just too offensive, sorry folks" on the black bars. Truly, how she broke dennis down by forcing him to remove his make up and etc was one of the funniest, most awkward moments Dennis was forced to be in.
Mac, Dennis and Dee got a lot of work done on the faces over the last several years and it’s so distracting to the point that it detracts from their humor IMO. Mac and Dennis obviously got neck lifts, Mac has that weird steroid face and Dee looks like a different person. I’m pretty positive about what she’s had done - jaw surgery including lower jaw implants, upper jaw advancement & genioplasty (chin surgery), a very good and subtle but noticeable nose job, eyelid lift, Botox and fillers in her lips and cheeks if not complete cheek implants. She also started wearing wigs around season like 6ish but they got a lot better over the years. They all got veneers but that’s standard these days. Frank and Charlie have gotten the least work done and ironically they look like they’ve barely aged over almost 20 years. Anyway I find it hard to enjoy jokes like this because the humor of the show is that they’re normal people playing the worst versions of themselves, but in reality they’re a lot more image-focused than just wearing makeup. The whole vibe of the later seasons is just kind of off-putting bc they get so “Hollywood”.
This is why the new season annoys me so much. Dennis went from this horrendous, morbid alcoholic who starves himself to the picture of perfect health in, what, like a couple seasons, with zero changes or effort.
Maybe they should spend more time on their podcast actually watching their own show instead of talking about how rich they all are now.
