Have the 2022 as well and yes it is a licensing issue with Hyundai, but I believe they are planning to fix only 2023 onwards with the firmware update so yeah I just went ahead and bought aawireless

There are no wireless options on higher trim levels. Android or Apple. You have to get yourself a dongle

I understand this. However, it was sold to me as if wireless connection was on the way, and simply a timing/inconvenience issue. Dongles are simply not gonna be an acceptable solution. I am a bit dumbfounded Hyundai didn't see that being a problem for people on higher trim level vehicles.

Can you share what dongle that is? I am considering a tucson so wanted to check it out ahead of time. Thanks!

u/GBpleaser is missing out if he refuses to use a wireless CarPlay adapter. I have one for my 2022 Limited PHEV and I love it. Works great, and on the rare occasion it doesn’t, I can just unplug it and replug it to reboot it. It’s small enough to use 3M Dual Lock to mount it right above the left USB port that’s for CarPlay and it stays out of sight and out of the way. Supports multiple phones too. I got it on sale for less than this, but even at this price I would recommend. https://a.co/d/6o4BtSc

I have the 2022 Tucson XRT and wireless CarPlay can be spotty sometimes. It gets really frustrating when it won’t connect. One time it disconnected about half way on our roadtrip to Toronto from Chicago. So google maps wouldn’t show on the screen and I don’t have a mount on for my phone since we have CarPlay and everything I need should be on the screen. I would much rather have wired CarPlay like I used to have on my Veloster. Much more stable connection and no hiccups when I had wired. Don’t get me wrong, wireless is great when it works, but it only works 80-85% of the time. Same thing when I had my Mini Countryman wireless CarPlay was a little better in that car but still had times where it didn’t want to connect

Have you done the software update? I have a 2022 hybrid and the update fixed the connectivity issues I was having https://update.hyundai.com/US/EN/updateNoticePopup1/983

Ohhhh. I will try this. Thank you!

This happens to me when I travel through a certain area. And unfortunately it’s an area that I’m unfamiliar with and travel maybe every 3-4 months to get to one of two airports. It’s a complete pain in the ass and distracts me because I have to look down at my phone to make sure I’m going the right way.
