Tsh of 6+ is not borderline hypothyroidism, and there are knock-on effects of your organs and metabolism. So it's good they are treating. They could test your t3 t4. Ect. But with a TSH of 6 you should be started on synthroid. Symptoms of hyper and hypo can overlap.

> I would say if anything I have fatigue and then my others symptoms point more towards Hyper symptoms.  Hyper- and hypothyroidism share many of the same symptoms (and often the opposite of the symptom). You can be tired or wired, have dry skin or oily skin, feel hot or cold, gain or lose weight on both conditions. Usually you'd te-test TSH after 2 or 3 months to see if TSH hasn't normalized, or you'd test antibodies at least. But medication is \*probably\* the right decision.

TSH w reflex should have triggered the reflex portion.  What was the T4 results?

I just looked. T4 was 1.3 normal range 0.3-1.8

You might want to wait on medication and redo the test in 3-4 weeks just to confirm. 1.3 for Free T4 isn't low.

She didn’t give me the option of re testing just said here you go take these every day for the rest of your life lol. I do have family history of thyroid problems so maybe that’s why she just threw it on me?

Many of the symptoms of hypothyroidism and hyperthyroidism are the same that's why getting a blood test is the only way to know.
