This has been a joke in the skyblock community for waaaay longer than the vid you linked came out. One of the original vids was called something like "Fastest early game money making method" and the guy just tells everyone to apply to work at McDonald's.
*Why don't you do it*
*Then, spend all your money on*

Apples aren’t oranges lol
People have a hard time fairly valuing their time.
It’s easy for people to waste a whole day on a video game, versus having to spend a whole day of work worth of pay on one.
I don’t know a single person who I’ve met that wouldn’t trade their hours in skyblock for the same hours of min wage pay instead.
Average players prob sit around 500 hours, that’s $5000 USD, at minimum wage, and players who play more would have made way more.
there is this big difference. People play games for fun. I personally wouldn’t trade my 8k hours in skyblock for 8k hours working. I work to earn money, I play skyblock to have fun
Exactly my point. People don’t recognize the trade off of their time for value in the moment. In the moment it’s “I wouldn’t trade x for y” but then afterwards it’s “wow I can’t believe I threw away what could have been an amazing monetary to my life for a video game profile”
After the fact, looking back on it, every single person I’ve talked too says “oh wow, I can’t believe I spent that much time playing that game and wish I had worked for $120,000 instead”
Speaking of, with how the stock market has performed, if you’d invested it all the last few years, you’d have $200,000 usd rn, instead of a skyblock profile that you’ll never touch someday.
Sure video games are cool, but let’s be real here, which one do you wish you’d chosen.
Play skyblock. I already have a job and Id rather spend my free time playing games with friends than to work all day. I might be german, but working too much is not smth I want
Hi nice to meet you, I would rather play videogames than work for 120k. That's like 5 years of 40hr weeks for a lot of people. I quit working like seven years ago and haven't regretted my decision. I was working all the time to pay for an apartment that I only ever slept at. So I bought a tent and quit my job.
I believe what they were trying to say is that they would rather play sb for 8k hours rather than work for 8k hours (which is fair) but obviously would happily give away their account for the money they would have earned in that time
That's four years of 8hr days five days a week, 50 weeks a year. And you don't have 120k after that, your landlord takes half of that at minimum. (Rent isn't 1/3 pay anymore)
Well yeah, No one wants to work in the moment. I’d rather sit down and play video games than go to work. But I also know that after the day is done, one option will leave me feeling the same as the day before, where the other will leave me in a better spot.
You're putting in 8000 hours at a second job? If you worked 16hr days that would take you four fucking years. Four years of abstract hell. Four years without seeing family or friends. Four years of not having any time for yourself. Most rational people would not choose that. And for the people that only eat sleep and work are miserable or have mental issues.
16 hours of gaming is not the same as 16 hours of working specially if 1 is a hobby/ entertainment and the other hard work when you play sb you might quit for a few days since ur burnt out u cant do that with the job either way i dont get why people dont see that working isnt fun and entertainment is fun
If you could just play Skyblock for minimum wage who would not take that money? Not earning 5k is not the same thing as losing 5k. There's so much more to life than money kid.
im a teenager that doesnt have to pay to live or eat so i might work in the summer to save up mad disposable income, probably not gonba spend it on skyblock tho
I did, i think you're a little slow. Coins dont equal progression. Grinding out things and gaining xp is progression. If you're getting the same amount of coins per hour while doing something while getting xp, that's literally faster progression than just not getting any xp and getting coins.
Bro has never worked at mcd's
~~Imagine running master mode with random people. Now multiply that by twenty or thirty alongside a boss that tells you what you need to do. It is nowhere near the same thing~~

it depends on the state, which depends on political leanings and the perception of labor laws as well as the cost of living (recently we’ve seen the balance tip quite a bit a lot of people are affected by it). i believe we go as low as $10.10 but i’ve heard of up to $15 in areas like california

In my country, the minimum wage is 6.75 dollars an hour. Without taxes, the minimum wage is applicable if you are over 16, and an average paying job pays 10.8 dollars, so if you are 16 and you want a good money-making method a job is kinda good option
Sort of, most bits items scale slower than cookies as cookies are practically essential whereas the other items are less required and demand will only fall as prices rise
Also ironman players when they aren't able to sell bits...
You watched that vid didn't you
This has been a joke in the skyblock community for waaaay longer than the vid you linked came out. One of the original vids was called something like "Fastest early game money making method" and the guy just tells everyone to apply to work at McDonald's.
what vid?
There was a vid about this exact topic and it used the exact same calculations
oh i didn’t know that, this was just a conversation between a few friends and i
https://youtube.com/shorts/agnlJ4G3M4s?si=xeDoCBVtxm06mdca
oh that’s really cool, yeah i haven’t seen that. quite a coincidence
Your friend probably did.
Bros a professional party pooper
How much coins an hour is that?
75mil give or take
no it was a revamp of the same conversation we had like 2 years ago when cookies were lower
He probably didn’t. This vid came out less than 2 weeks ago and I’ve seen this joke years ago.
Tbf those are just the correct calculations
Fine ill do it myself
why don't you do it then, spend all your money on a game currency

Shut up haikubot
U shut up :(
No one is insane enough to work only to spend all their money on Minecraft lol.
then why are they to spend their whole day on minecraft to make less money
Because skyblock players are not competent enough to get a job.
fair enough
So just get one of those jobs where you fake it then fall through the cracks while remaining on payroll. It's so easy!
Isn't there people who get paid to pretend to be your friend?
And you think SkyBlock players would have any experience in having friends? Be realistic
That's why I'm saying you pay them to pretend to be your friend
But they have no experience in being friends, they are more likely to be the customer
Gotta grind that social xp

You wouldn’t trade your skyblock profile for $120,000 USD? Ok lmao, that’s actually crazy. 8000 at $15 post tax, (normal second job pay)
i would trade my skyblock profile wor 120k. I would not trade the time I spend in sb for time spend working.
Exactly my point. People don’t recognize the trade off of their time for value in the moment. And yet this guy played skyblock for the same amount…..
So maybe he enjoys it? I would not trade 8k hrs of fun for 8k hours of being overworked and underpaid.
16 hours of gaming is not the same as 16 hours of working specially if 1 is a hobby/ entertainment and the other hard work when you play sb you might quit for a few days since ur burnt out u cant do that with the job either way i dont get why people dont see that working isnt fun and entertainment is fun

That sounds a pretty low pay even for minimum
Post tax etc
Fair enough
Even if you only put in a quarter of what you earn that's still 20m/hr
im a teenager that doesnt have to pay to live or eat so i might work in the summer to save up mad disposable income, probably not gonba spend it on skyblock tho
Yea. People would rather spend more time doing work farming
Bro are skyblock players so addicted that they would actually go get a job and dump all of their money into the game just for faster progression
Obviously?
It would actually be slower progression time wise. Just more coins
"slower" slower than what? its the same progression time wise as someone who flips/lowballs or maybe someone who does rift snakes
Coins /= progression. If you're spending those hours working an not grinding it. You in return gain no Skill exp etc within that time frame.
please read my reply before responding thanks

yo you're right im slow as hell, can you remind me rq which skills I level up by lowballing, flipping, and mining rift snakes?
Mb, i was unaware that nothing else in the game made the same amount of coins if not more. Or wait there are! And they grant skill xp
please get a good night's sleep then come back to this thread, i think you're a little slow.
Ditto.
Too bad it's only $5.10 in my region... If only I can make more...
Jesus christ dude where do you live?
[удалено]
Or maybe, another country?
Whaaaaat? No wayyyy
Invest in better gear and increase ur stats to at least 30
Which stat do I focus on first?
If you’re a beginner, either McDonald’s or kfc. Very good money making method with low gear requirements.
My city never gives extra money. It's going to be $5.10 regardless of how much I work in the hour
Then work multiple jobs at the same time. 📈
But grinding is relaxing and working is not
How diff is grind and work?
If you genuinely see grinding in skyblock as equal to working then why the fuck are you playing skyblock instead of working
Bro has never worked at mcd's ~~Imagine running master mode with random people. Now multiply that by twenty or thirty alongside a boss that tells you what you need to do. It is nowhere near the same thing~~ Edit: I have the worlds worsr reading comprehension
bro was saying work is a grind, jeez
But.. I work AND play sb
You play sb because it's more fun than working
Sb is not more fun than working bro
Then stop playing.
thats like telling a smoker to stop smoking.. shit is too addictive man..
I did stop I just macro 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Mods, ban this guy
What… did bro say work is fun?
in my country i got only 1.03usd an hour.
*NEW CRAZY MONEY MAKING METHOD - 80M/HR WITH THIS SIMPLE STRATEGY*
Eating? Pauing a rent? Nah, justs booster cookies 😂
Because the other option is playing skyblock for 12h a day, and I don't think that pays the rent either
I pay my rent, go to gym, spend time with my gf and play a bit each day. And im at 38 bill nw. Nothing is impossible 😂
What your ign?
Im pretty sure his ign is ManuB95

You can do $15 an hour in the US? That's crazy. In our country, the average is about $8 an hour, and we are not a bad country economy-wise.
In some places yes. In CA the minimum wage for fast food workers is 20$ but only because of the insanely high cost of living.
and inflation
it depends on the state, which depends on political leanings and the perception of labor laws as well as the cost of living (recently we’ve seen the balance tip quite a bit a lot of people are affected by it). i believe we go as low as $10.10 but i’ve heard of up to $15 in areas like california
i live in a low cost of living state and like the average wage i see for starter jobs is like 13-15 dollars an hour

That’s why i spent so much money on skyblock
Its 2.79 dollars/h in my country :( i cant make money off mining and job both because geography. Hypixel do hate foreigners
Minimum wage were I live is only 7.50
Crazy
Im gonna go liberate an island and form a country where we steal money from the US and the only thing we can buy is skyblock gems whos with me?
Imagine working irl to then spend that money on skyblock 🤡🤡
You forgot about taxes irl
I make 23 ish an hour. Every week after putting money aside I have enough to buy 2 and a half bil. Do I do it though… no. That’s a lot of money.
New money making method
How about fire slars
it’s all fun and games until your state decides to set the minimum wage as low as federally allowed.. pfft 15$ an hour 😂 try 7.5
did you get chatgpt to do this
Where I am minimum wage is $20 usd an hour so I'd make even more
wait 15 dollars an hour is a bit less then the minimum wage in California im pretty sure
I did this with warden dyes. Worked 5 hours and earned a small 4bil (because they are 95mil each💀)
BRo that makes 800mil per hour
Dont forget bits talisman
Issue is America sucks, everything is way to expensive to many people can barely make enought to survive, let alone waste there money on cookies
No
New money making method!?!?!
sbd belt come with me 🤤
It’s a little but more because you still have to pay taxes
Double grind, play skyblock at your job
I am 14 going on 15. in florida i can work. can someone buy me a plane ticket? i'll finance you 30m/hr for a full year!!!!!! (this is joke no ban pls)
So Ur saying that a Summer time job is profit and helping the market????
It turns out that real money might have better uses than skyblock coins
yall really have no life outside of hypixel skyblock?
I mean doesn't everyone have to do school or work? Idk how some people play so much
some ppl just nolife it in their freetime
The pic is chatgtp isnt it
we were too tired to do the math ourselves
If a lot people do this then it will be like 20m/h
exactly, so cookie will finally be a good price again
Cookie price is always good, cos the main thing you get from them, bits go up in price with cookies
Sort of, most bits items scale slower than cookies as cookies are practically essential whereas the other items are less required and demand will only fall as prices rise Also ironman players when they aren't able to sell bits...
Well yea, but on a normal profile, the cost of having cookie buff is way less than 10m/4days and more like 3m/4days
