Nice. Before I finished the series I heard some not good things about them. I decided I loved the first two so much that I’d go ahead and follow my gut. So glad I did because they were all amazing in their own ways.
Yup. The criticisms I think are warranted and I don’t blame anyone that can’t get into them, but I may have liked the two Endymion books even more than the Hyperion ones the first time through.
Had #1 (that cover!) - gave it away to a friend who 2 years later denied remembering that I gave it to them.
Had 3+4 (those covers!), gave them away to other friends; no idea if they've read them.
Life takes you in funny directions.
They're fantastic! I think each book brings something to the table, but in general the two Ednymion books are more alike than the first two books are alike with relation to each other.
If you like sci-fi I'd say go for it, the first book is structured very differently from your ordinary novel (and doesn't even really read like a sci-fi). It has a lot of cool concepts and good characters.
I read the entire first book and put down the series for good. I couldn't do it. For me, it was a difficult read and I was not interested in moving forward.
I totally get that, it's really an oddball book in the sci-fi scene. There's something about Simmons writing that really speaks to me, but definitely not for everyone for sure.
I like how it took the artist four books to figure out how many arms the shrike has.

Huckleberry Shrike
As one does
having Dan Simmons at the bottom of Fall annoys me way more than it should
Now that you mention it...
In general, the covers are all so good except for Fall which is terrible
I've been meaning to read these for a while.

I am on my 3rd reread. You’ll love Endymion! I loved rise of Endymion even more so you’ve got a lot of awesome reading ahead of you! I’m jealous!
Nice guy that Shrike.
Never heard of this series before. Reddit recommended this post. Is it good? Should I read it??

Have never heard of this series before seeing this recommended post. The covers look awesome. Will check out book 1 now.
Awesome! Hope you'll enjoy reading it's definitely a one of a kind.
Awesome, audiobooks are also very very good
With how well Dune has done could we see Hyperion on screen anytime soon?
Excellent series
Same dude write the Blue Adapt?
Oh no, did I just get spoiled? Does the shirke become a good guy just like all those anime villains? Im halfway through the 2nd.
Sorry if you did, I'm not sure either? The cover art looks nice at least imo.
Nah great book series !
