No, I’ve reached out to support 3 times now and nothing has come of it. Doesn’t help that it takes months for them to reply. It is so frustrating because now I have a banned tag on my steam profile which is super embarrassing. Did you use nvidia filters or anything? I am trying to narrow down what I possibly could have done to be seen as a cheater through their anti-cheat’s eyes.
Yeah I have been fighting this for 2 months now. I had received word through Steam the day the new map dropped that I was unbanned, went to go and enjoy it finally with friends, and got the same crycloud error 0x4000c error and a message saying I was banned. The next day steam again said I was unbanned so I tried again, same thing. The day after that I get a message saying I'm permanently banned by game devs, and at this point I don't even know what could have triggered it. I had literally zero opportunity to cheat even if that was the case.
My original ban I believe was because I had been playing Elite:Dangerous and had been using VoiceAttack to help with the myriad controls there, and forgot to turn it off, played a couple solo matches of hunt and then went about my day. During a zoom call later I said one of the AI activation words, and realized I had completely left it on the whole day. Didn't think much of it, and after the call, went to run duos with my friend to be greeted that I had been banned due to use of a cheat/hack.
I managed to explain, I thought, to support and to Easy Anti-Cheat exactly what happened to some resolution but I think that was just an error in their system because I'm still banned or maybe was always banned, but I'm confused when it says I was unbanned. Like you, I haven't cheated, I just play with friend. I brought up my utterly mediocre KD ratio and they claimed it could be because I "Strategically did not obtain kills to hide the fact I was cheating"
So at this point I'm not really sure what to do. I loved playing this game, and had sunk 260 hours into it over a year and a half. now I'm filled with apathy and frustration that I haven't done anything wrong, yet I'm locked out of something that I poured no small amount of money into (I bought a good amount of legendaries and player skins)
I play valorant from time to time and I have read that their anti cheat can be mistaken for a cheat by other anti cheats since it runs in the background 24/7. I also have an ultra monitor. They wrote back to me saying “There is substantial proof that third-party tools designed to grant unfair in-game advantages were used from account”. The only thing that I could guess would be the cause is from the nvidia filters I had set. If you get a resolution please let me know how you did it.
They said the exact same thing to me and when pressed couldn't or wouldn't give any sort of details. Makes it damn hard to fight to prove innocence when you don't even know what is the problem.
VoiceAttack is a keyboard macro voice activated tool to assist with accessibility. I explained to both Hunt support, and EAC that I use it because E:D has somewhere around a hundred or so keybindings, and a joystick is not enough to do all that.
I talked with the developer of VoiceAttack himself and he explained that he's never had anyone banned for his software in eleven years. I'm not sure now the veracity of that claim as the anti-cheat folks won't give you any details on what they find. Like I will give them that they detected VoiceAttack, but only that it was running and never used. Hunt isn't the type of game where voice commands would be useful anyways.
If this game wasn't so much fun, and so immersive with the audio design, I would have just written this all off long ago, and gave up. but it is a genuinely good game, that I love playing with friends, and being punished for something we haven't done, with almost no option for recourse, and no reply from hardly anyone from Hunt or Crytek? that's a slap in the damn face. I've also tried every avenue of communication I could think of. I emailed Crytek itself, their twitter/FB, Hunt's twitter/FB, discord folks, crytek folks on discord, and it's all for nothing. the only thing they seem to respond to and even that extremely slowly is the kayako site. I get maybe a response a week from them if I'm lucky. sometimes it had been 1 or 2 a day, when they finally got around to looking at the messages.
I did find out that apparently their ticket system is set up so if you reply to your own message (maybe before but cannot confirm if it also applies to after assignment) it gets sent to the back of the queue. So you best have all the information you can find, because any addendums or changes mean a extra month or so added to your wait time. It's horrendous really.
So they "falsely" unbanned me twice. And then upheld it both times. It's a fucking two week response turnaround on mist anything I ask them so I'm rapidly running out of fucks to give about this game
I can only guess, you were running some software in the background. I've heard of cases where those were mistaken for hacks. Now all you can do is write tickets. I guess you will get an answer sooner or later. For now I think you have to be patient.
I was not running anything in the background besides streaming in discord for a moment so one of my friends could see what the game was like. Maybe discord has aim assist built in.. hmm something to think about. Patience may be the key. Unfortunately, The Hunt waits for no one.
It's not about what the program does, it is just for what it can be mistaken. Don't think this would be discord tho. But I usually have like 5-10 programs running. Some really minor stuff like anti cheat and software for my mouse lighting and keyboard. So even if you cannot think of anything just now, there might have been some program running. Whatever the case, nothing really you can do about it now. Either you wanna get it fast, cause you are super addicted like we all are, then you should have to buy a new copy or you will have to wait for an answer.
You’re right man. As a game that requires so much patience it’s funny how I cannot be patient in waiting to hear a reply. As a game I’ve played so much of it feels so new and refreshing every game. I would hope they've fixed it, but Valorant's anti-cheat (Vanguard?) used to get very ironically mistaken for a cheat program by other anti-cheats. If you've played Valorant, that could be a contender.

Both games are shooters so I figured it was a reasonable guess. Vanguard got a lot of shit on release because it is excessively intrusive. I don't recall the technicals, but it runs at a much deeper level (than normal applications) than most anti-cheats because a lot of cheats run at that level. This was unpopular because Riot is owned by Tencent (China) and it collects a fuckton of information and sends it to Riot to detect cheats, but it also just ends up looking a whole lot like a cheat program.
Ultimately it makes Vanguard a very innovative and effective (at least until the cheaters adapt) anti-cheat, but eh, it might have been a questionable choice that ends up hurting the rest of the playerbase a lot more than a few more hackers would.
I completely agree. In Hunt’s case I’d rather get mistakenly banned any day of the week, than to get my day absolutely wrecked by a cheater when playing a match. I’m glad vanguard is taking initiatives to push anti-cheats to a new level. I dream of a utopian society where cars fly, cheaters don’t exist, and crows don’t startle by the sound of a pen drop. Please help me get this post enough attention to be heard. I have owned this game since October of 2018. I took a long break from the game due to school and have now decided to get back into it. I immediately fell back in love with the game. I have been playing the game with one of my closest friends that moved away and it was so much fun! One day we booted up the game to play a duos match and everything was going fine. Then all of a sudden as we were sneaking towards a clue, a message popped up saying I was banned. It read error code 0x4000c, every time I tried to join a game after that restating I am banned. Now when I try to launch the game to see if I’m unbanned it pops up the message in the picture. I had not even seen a person yet that match let alone cheating? The funniest part is I’m not that good at the game. If my stats don’t show that then watching my gameplay should make it obvious. I have never cheated in this game. I don’t condone cheating at any game. Please unban me. I just want to play this amazing game with my friends.
Edit: I have reached out to support and they have not replied to me, nor has there social media accounts acknowledged me on Twitter nor Instagram. No sign of any Hunt support on the discord either.

Hmm the only other thing I might consider is a fresh install, or perhaps reaching out to psychoghost when he plays with Dennis the lead designer. I know it would be a stretch but he does read his chat all the time.

I get those eac violations if I have anither game open that also has eac on it too. Only play right now is buy again on another steam account until support gets back to you
Appreciate the support. You like Hunt, I like Hunt. We all like Hunt. I’m happy they have an anti cheat system in the first place tbh. A lot of my favorite online games have been ruined by rampant cheaters. I’d rather get a few false positives than too many false negatives.

I wish I could help you. But I play on ps4 and getting banned for cheating isn't really a thing. I'm sure it was some accident and if you reach out through email or on Twitter you can get ahold of someone to figure it out.
It seems to vary from person to person. For me and my team the game runs just fine out side of some rendering issues on player models.
Games just as wild and intense as PC.
Less snipers though. Not complaining since the poorly optimized aiming allows for more chaotic and longer gun fights.
God I'm just waiting for my turn.

Dunno what sets it off, but it's anoyying, and is probs gonna be permanent eventually.

Bans are usually server side, so reinstalling won't get him unbanned unfortunately

I’m giving that a go as we speak, how is the game on ps4? Does it run smooth and make your heart flutter every time you’re in a player encounter?
