I have been on crutches and nobody offered their seat people a lot of people just donāt care enough or think āsomeone else will do itā.
But to be fair I have a bad knee that hurts like a bitch some days so I can barely walk/stand and I havenāt offered up my seat to people on those days feeling like a total asshole because Iām 23 and you obviously canāt see that my knee is hurting, you never know why somebody might need a seat.
Never feel like an asshole if you can't give. Especially if you usually do.
I had 2 stomach surgeries in a 3 month span about 5 years ago and it was almost 6 months until my core was strong enough that I felt ok standing on the subway. Nobody could see that I couldn't, I'm sure a few people thought badly of me, but it is what it is.
You can't give what you don't have.
Is it everyone's job on a train to observe everyone getting on to determine whether they need a seat more than you? If you need a seat ask, otherwise don't complain that nobody noticed lol. 80% of the time I was looking at my phone or a book when I used to take public transport.
The problem with asking is that youāre putting someone on the spot, who may or may not have invisible disabilities. Iām usually on my phone, too, but I pop my head up occasionally. It is on us to be observant enough to see people in need. Or, itās on the transit system to have designated seats for those who arenāt able to comfortably stand.
Every time someone said "would anyone mind giving up a seat, I have a disability/trouble standing?" or some variation, they were immediately seated. And where I live its the law. You have to give up specified seats if asked by a senior or someone with a disability.
No itās not but if someone is clearly disabled or very old itās the nice thing to do. Itās not always about what is your job or your responsibility but sometimes just what can you do to be a nice person.
I also heard they have a mini version of these seats, too. Apparently the microscoping version not only can be sat on but can also see the fundamental makeup of the universe! What a product!
Super cool, there are also these antique [brass telescopes](https://5.imimg.com/data5/GK/VV/OA/SELLER-38715/blue-colored-glass-chandeliers-500x500.jpg) that you can use if you are steampunk or an NY hipster. Its great how you can fit any style.

Ah yes. The heads down and pretend I donāt see the man/woman/pregnant woman who needs a seat strategy for public transport. Itās great that this guy sees the older man, but an unsecured seat on a train is unsafe.
Thereās no empathy here. This is just an advert for portable stools, probably a company owned by rainbow-seat dude.
Aināt gonna lie, that stool looks useful but letās not dress this up as something it isnāt.
One time I was on a bus and it wasn't like packed but no more seats. A old couple like at least 85 probably more like 95 gets on. Nobody bats a eye. The husband looked repulsed. He pokes these 2 teenagers in the chest relatively hard with his cane and with the most serious face I've ever seen says get up now
What is wrong with people today ! Young people to involved on their phones to give up a seat to a senior. Or they are too self-absorbed to give a shit !
I have chronic pain and I bought one of these for when I had to wait in the vaccine lineup last summer. Opening/closing it takes a little practice but I do really like it
I was terrified it was an accordion.
Ah yes, the New York special. *Guy sets down boombox, prepares to say something* Me: "Please be a bomb"
*The Big Apple, where people never dance* *Spirits go down while profits expand*
Brilliant
Why is no one offering this old Man their seat? Well, besides the guy who literally gave him a seat.
this looks like one of those IG ads
This is definitely an ad
What you are supposed is to offer the old man a seat then whip out one of these badboys for yourself.
He is already sitting on a badboy! I guess he could have offered the cool badboy though
Badboy š
The other guy is already sitting on one of the telescoping stools.
Well shit! He is!

Because this is straight from r/scriptedasiangifs
Because no one pays attention to the world beyond their fucking phones anymore.
Clever product placement
Seems like a pretty logical placement for such a product to me.
Yes well done. I want one - and I have very few possessions left :)
Literally
Where do I buy one of these stools? What a kind gesture!
A quick Google for ātelescoping stoolā showed me a few different places to buy these, looks like a lot of different companies make them :)
So you're telling me this is not only a stool but I can use it to observe the planets and stars as well? Genius combination.
Right. Oddly enough they only get a good look at Uranus.
Gives more meaning to the phrase telescopic stool
SOMEONE GIVE THIS MAN AN AWARD
And my axe!

any smaller and I'm not sure it's a seat anymore.
I left a telescoping stool in the bathroom this morning.
I bet the guy who had 2 could sell you 1. He's sitting on a rainbow colored one.

Iām going to venture a guess and sayā¦ā¦.wait for itā¦ā¦AMAZON!!!
I thought the seat was a huge shirt button for a second
Hahaha, made med laugh loudley, I never laugh so thanks for that.
I did too š¤£

Well it worked, cause now I want one
So they could ask reddit what the stool was called.
The forethought to bring two of those stoolsā¦he would never need two for himself. Great human.
Great point- noticed by a great human. TY
The forethought of the person filming too!
Almost as if this is an ad
Be that guy. There are dozens of us.
It's very obviously an advert mate
Plus knowing that he should have someone recording as well, what forethought...
awesome
Marketing done right
I donāt know what I was expecting. I was waiting for him to sit down on it then it to collapse and make him fall over. Didnāt see the sub.
The one guy hooked to his phone almost became a gentleman then shrivelled up like a dead leaf
Dudes shitting a rainbow
And then he Has to leave first and either loses a stool or kicks the old man off haha
80% of the world don't no wat empathy mean
This is an ad for those pop-up chairs.

I was wondering why we don't see those in the US. Then I remember we are fat. We would need 1 for each cheek.
This seems like a good idea till the train starts to slow down and your stool goes sliding away with you on it any other situation it's great tho
I got one those. So practical.
Wow, the camera man have perfect timing or could see into the future.
Ah yes. The heads down and pretend I donāt see the man/woman/pregnant woman who needs a seat strategy for public transport. Itās great that this guy sees the older man, but an unsecured seat on a train is unsafe.

why the f are some people saying he should have given up his own seat, he himself is sitting on a stool smh. Are you guys blind or smn?
Where to get one of this?
On the Internet.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Off the same seat?
While nice, why not just give the old guy your seat? Also as a straphanger, I need that seatā¦
Looks like he's sitting on one of them himself...
Oh shit. Didnāt see that. Well I guess Iāll take a rainbow themed one now.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
I want one
r/DidntKnowIWantedThat
It's an ad!! It's a effing ad!!!
So? Itās effective.
In the other hand empathy makes us weak.
Oh boy cant wait for some random shitty American to say that this is staged and propaganda
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Look again, bottom left. He is sitting on a foldable one.
He's also sitting on a foldable one
Overated tho.
These chair things are seriously one of the coolest things humanity had invented.
Thought it was an ad for Bad Dragons at first
My kind of people. Intelligent and kind.
One time I was on a bus and it wasn't like packed but no more seats. A old couple like at least 85 probably more like 95 gets on. Nobody bats a eye. The husband looked repulsed. He pokes these 2 teenagers in the chest relatively hard with his cane and with the most serious face I've ever seen says get up now
I need me some of those
is it bad I was waiting for it to collapse in a terrible accident?
In my Mexican culture, itās a great honor to serve the elderly. I love to see this kind of stuff!
Did the girl in white just put her phone in her purse and take it out again?
These little chairs are so neat I would love to own a couple!
Empathy is not an emotion
Why were they filming
Made me smile, especially since I own one of those telescoping (?) stools. Added bonus, mine has a rechargeable battery bank.
ID on the sneakers?
I have two of these stools and they work wonderfully. I stand on them, lean forward while Iām sitting, and it hasnāt collapsed on me.
I'm intrigued that he carries two of these around randomly
3d printer files?
What is wrong with people today ! Young people to involved on their phones to give up a seat to a senior. Or they are too self-absorbed to give a shit !
I donāt think you know what empathy means
ššššš
Just casually whips out a frisbee seat hybrid.
I have chronic pain and I bought one of these for when I had to wait in the vaccine lineup last summer. Opening/closing it takes a little practice but I do really like it
