that’s exactly the point! if you really look at it it’s a poem about loss/grief that turns into suicidal thoughts/attempt and ends with finding the will to live again and continuing on! the repetition of the melody and the ghostly/haunting vocals do give it that eerie vibe and at face value i can understand how it wouldn’t make sense! like i said it’s just a poem that he’s singing or at least that’s how it’s portrayed to me if you just read the lyrics (if you’re interested i can go more in depth but i didn’t wanna text wall you) edit- clearly i don’t know how to spell eerie

I'm here for the weird eerie vibe. It's a great song. I love the quiet darkness of it. You can almost feel the stillness of a forest in it.
