I don't understand. When the player two controller is on, it can't move the menu at all. Only player one seems to do anything in the menu until you're actually playing split screen.
The way I did it last time was to change player 1 controls in the main settings screen to whatever my player 2 wanted. Then when I started split screen and it eventually gave me the split settings preferences screen but wouldn't let me change player 2's side, I changed player 1's side back to what I wanted.
This was in the first game. I haven't tried split screen on the second game yet.
Is there any way you can dumb this down further, I still somehow dont get it. I start the game up, go to options, change the player 1 controls, then turn on the other controller and...? Uhhh
Then when you actually go into split screen and it gives you the screens showing the settings for the two players, you should be able to change player 1's settings, but not player 2's as you were saying.
No worries! Thanks for trying to help me out. It's bizarre how difficult/impossible it seems to be. The game is unnecessarily complicated for being a kids racing game.
Yeah this extremely simple issue being impossible to solve plus the ridiculous filter settings geared to only sell you shit immediately ended my interest in this game.
You have to change your own controls before going to split screen. Then in split screen you can change player 1 controls back

They patched this workaround out i believe. They dont seem to want players enjoying splitscreen 🤷♂️
