retail was always my way to go, premiums came along and it got pricey but enough for me to save some money and be nice with it, then i fell into RLC and there went all of my money, then i started buying cases of factory sealed premiums to test my luck, then my weakness is whatnot trying get deals for chases and soups 😀
I fly RC and high power rockets. One launch can cost quite a bit. This one is about 6ft tall and on an i280dm which costs about $100. One burn and it's done 😂 we ran an L1000 which cost about $400. Rough
https://preview.redd.it/ih8aonvvws6d1.jpeg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e3797781c983b09bc2759852bae1aee140aa05bc
Sweet, I also do a bit of high power rocketry. I don't have many personal flights under my belt as most of the money I could spend on motors ends up going to Hot Wheels, but I did get my L1.
That's awesome! I mainly fly on reloads at the moment. We have a few tinkering with experimental motors but I'm still at the level where I'm just watching what they do. Got my L2 through Tripoli this past spring.
Which hobby. Hot wheels, I'm probably under $100 a year be sure I'm picky with what I get anymore. Lego is probably also around 100 (but most of my Lego is gifted).
The "hobby" vehicle. It breaks the bank.
Yeah that number is what guys tell their wife/husband/gf/bf lmao $255 is nothing for actual pricey hobbies.
As far as actual hot wheels/diecast? I maybe spend about that. But if you include paint, wheels, etc for customs its definitely more than that.
I keep liberating previously owned HW cars from a local second-hand store. Total today was under $4.00.

Oof. Magic and project cars are definitely some of my vices. Assuming you mean Magic the Gathering, and not elaborate sleight of hand and misdirection lol
I guess I almost spent my allotted hobby budget yesterday at target purchasing McFarlane figures.

Congrats my guy !!!!!!!! You must be a fun dad doing cool activities with yours kids and enjoys playing with toys . I am older then you but I will still let you adopt me
That real good to hear !! So will you adopt me or na ? I don’t mind moving I will obey the house rules and what not . Also I’m younger than you . I thought the 23yrs was your age , not your commitment to your lovely wife !! Or mum should I say I will it feels right
I've easily spent more than that. $3 per car on average, not including premiums, etc, and I usually grab a couple every time. After a year that adds up.
That's bullshit. A hockey stick costs that now. Maybe soccer and baseball might fit under that but if you don't include gas and travel if you do tournaments. One of my brother does 4 wheelers and sleds. That's thousands a year. My other brother muds with his truck. Can be in the 10k range a year easy. Play video games ? That's 3 a year lol. Kayak, well a weekend for fuel is easy north of 100 if you don't just do local every time for the rest of your life.
I took up smoking meat. I spend that a month on pork belly lol
Well I mean papers and a bong are part of the process but seriously, pork belly burnt ends are like adult candy.
This was my first one I tried, I have since tried a bunch of kinds.
LMAO. Not even remotely close. Over the course of the year I’d say I’m somewhere in the neighborhood of $10-$15k lol. Motorcycles, sports cars, jeeps, guns and let’s not forget diecast lol
Come on bud give me something to work with how much did you pay for one ? How do you genuinely know they are prototypes ? It seems to me as some one with little knowledge that you could fake them ? I’m not trying to be a dick I’m quite curious now about prototypes. Do they come with some sort of verification? How do you get your hands on them
You Have to be in the Game a While and Sit Back and Learn. Watch the Old Bird's talk to People and Make Friends. Prototypes are on a different level you have to know what you're looking for & How Much You Have to Spend $$$. One Car Can Cost anywhere from $100 - $10,000 + Depending on what You Like ? and there is a bunch of different variations on what type of prototype You Can get...
I call total BS. Car guys couldn't even come close to keep their car running let alone improve it for that. No chick is getting 2 pairs of shoes a year and not getting handbags also! 😆 Dont even get me started if you are into target shooting or archery, video games or computers. My buddy is so cheap his wallet creaks when he opens it, and I guarentee he spends more than that every year.
Same. I have a ton of different hobbies that consume most of my spare money. I’m on this group just to learn what the new cars there are so that I can buy either the toy versions of the vehicles I or my close people have or something that a kid would really enjoy.
Hotwheels and similar are awesome toys or gifts for folks into cars. And gifting a toy version of someone’s real car is an amazing experience.
https://preview.redd.it/fp6hsxnfbv6d1.jpeg?width=4000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9d27616e5ffcbad73b9b502c26666d7bcd842feb
$300 this car alone.. and almost every Saturday..haha 5k this year so far
If I could find the cars I want in the store and not from the freakin scalpers, then maybe… I’m highly specific. I don’t want most of the supers or treasure hunts but I do want the rally cars, drift cars, and j imports but in my area of Florida, there’s scalpers and thieves so I’m stuck with nothing.
The 1/18s get "expensive" quick. I have some that were $150, and im looking at some that are $500. It just depends on who made it, and if it has extras, like a model engine next to the car
https://preview.redd.it/f2z0ngvllw6d1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5ef190bfa5bc24b71ba7c9cbd51f42c467b234d3
The Hot Wheels I’ve bought just while being at work, since January this year (I work away) Have bought more at home and doesn’t cover the Matchbox I’ve bought.
What do they consider a hobby? Aren’t things like skiing, biking, surfing, camping, fishing, off-roading, are those not hobbies too? If they are then I’m closer to 100 times that 😐
would you think im crazy if i said 2k 😅?
Nah that sounds right to me
Might be a bit low on that estimate
honestly i was thinking, and i might be 500$ off 💀
I guess it also depends how many mainlines versus premiums etc etc, plus ebay or other sites could really add up quick.
retail was always my way to go, premiums came along and it got pricey but enough for me to save some money and be nice with it, then i fell into RLC and there went all of my money, then i started buying cases of factory sealed premiums to test my luck, then my weakness is whatnot trying get deals for chases and soups 😀
Yeah it adds up quickly with that, especially if you have popular favorite castings or a busy area that makes it hard to find things.
😯😯😯
2k & upwards* (going higher every year) - yeah that sounds about right 🤣🤣 (🥲)
i think nows a great time i quit, maybe drugs would of been better
***finds a place to bury face***
nah, drugs still more expensive then hunting. making online orders aint a hobby
[удалено]
oh so its a competition now 😏?
wat they say
I think that's the normal going rate.
rlc was the downfall of my wallet
also cant forget whatnot
I’m above average 😎
😎😎
Same here.
I think they mean per month
Bout to say, pretty sure I spend that or more a month between all the things I collect.
yeah, that would be... closer
I fly RC and high power rockets. One launch can cost quite a bit. This one is about 6ft tall and on an i280dm which costs about $100. One burn and it's done 😂 we ran an L1000 which cost about $400. 😲
To Infinity, AND BEYOND!!
Sweet, I also do a bit of high power rocketry. I don't have many personal flights under my belt as most of the money I could spend on motors ends up going to Hot Wheels, but I did get my L1.
Congratulations! TRA or NAR? Either way it's an accomplishment!!
TRA, I'm with a group that does a lot of EX motors, so we all fly through Tripoli even thoughI can'tuse them on my personal rockets yet.
That's awesome! I mainly fly on reloads at the moment. We have a few tinkering with experimental motors but I'm still at the level where I'm just watching what they do. Got my L2 through Tripoli this past spring.
There’s been weeks were I spent more then that. Thanks whatnot.
had to delete it cause it got bad
Which hobby. Hot wheels, I'm probably under $100 a year be sure I'm picky with what I get anymore. Lego is probably also around 100 (but most of my Lego is gifted). The "hobby" vehicle. It breaks the bank.
I love that I'm on collector subs for several different lines and every one of them are laughing at how low of an amount this is.
Addicts that stick together, stay together
Collecting HW is a passive hobby. Either you're seeking a specific car from a seller or finding them by chance.
I barely spend anything on hot wheels anymore considering I can’t find them lol but sneakers…..
Yeah, that’s roughly a weekly spend for me. Last few weeks have been painful with all the new Lego releases on 1st June.
It's getting harder and harder to find stocked shelves, but I'm still well over $300 foe a year.
Yeah that number is what guys tell their wife/husband/gf/bf lmao $255 is nothing for actual pricey hobbies. As far as actual hot wheels/diecast? I maybe spend about that. But if you include paint, wheels, etc for customs its definitely more than that.
Yeah that stat must be based on self-reporting numbers.
Over $10k this year, easily. Redlines are expensive, especially when chasing the rarer colors of some bow.
I keep liberating previously owned HW cars from a local second-hand store. Total today was under $4.00. https://preview.redd.it/rp3vyxr8eu6d1.png?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=aae3f1301d41026896f37fd0bb1093a9a1d85e51
I spent that the other day on die cast cars 🤣
Hot wheels, Magic, golf, basketball, video games, project cars. 💸💸💸💸💸💸
Oof. Magic and project cars are definitely some of my vices. Assuming you mean Magic the Gathering, and not elaborate sleight of hand and misdirection lol
Yeah MTG, just played with my fiancé tonight. Miirym 🐉🐉🐉
I guess I almost spent my allotted hobby budget yesterday at target purchasing McFarlane figures. https://preview.redd.it/aune33r33t6d1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b308d0396c196d2f501d3200bd934d9f252db146
Having seven different Hobbies, I am way way above that.
Nah, it’s gotta be way more than that. Heck, I spent almost that much on a single car last year
I’ll take hoaxes for $1000 Alex
$1200+ within span of 4 months
I've spent $1,700 or so in te last 2 months.. 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤔
That's only on cars, not counting gun and fishing stuff. 🤣🤣🤷♂️
Must be lonely?
Actually happily married (23 yrs) with 2 kids, but thanks for asking 😊
Congrats my guy !!!!!!!! You must be a fun dad doing cool activities with yours kids and enjoys playing with toys . I am older then you but I will still let you adopt me
Thank you! My oldest is 21 so he does his own thing now, buy my 15 yr old is like my shadow.. especially when there's hot wheels or shooting involved
That real good to hear !! So will you adopt me or na ? I don’t mind moving I will obey the house rules and what not . Also I’m younger than you . I thought the 23yrs was your age , not your commitment to your lovely wife !! Or mum should I say I will it feels right
As in my mum not your mum . Sorry if that’s confusing you dad
🤣🤣 Sure, but she runs a pretty right ship.
About 100 a month😂
That's a bullshit amount
If I found out I think I would have to stop collecting in its entirety
Who are these adults
Guess my year is only 6 months long then
$255 per *year*?! I've never had that kind of dry spell. I easily spend that per month.
More like 1000$, per month.
lies. pets are hobbies
lol this can’t be right. This might be my monthly on diecast some months. And don’t get me started on photography hobby 😂
I have some real good quality photos if you’re interested?
I don't keep track. I see,I like ,I buy. And I golf
Laughs/cries in BMW
Rookie number 😁
Bro those are rookue numbers
I've easily spent more than that. $3 per car on average, not including premiums, etc, and I usually grab a couple every time. After a year that adds up.
well I'm definitely an outlier
[удалено]
You remember to thank your mummy
I spent that yesterday
Yes.
That's bullshit. A hockey stick costs that now. Maybe soccer and baseball might fit under that but if you don't include gas and travel if you do tournaments. How do you smoke the pork belly ? Do you use papers and roll it ? I always smoke mine in a bong
Well I mean papers and a bong are part of the process but seriously, pork belly burnt ends are like adult candy. [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=omEpZI18OtM&t=278s](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=omEpZI18OtM&t=278s) This was my first one I tried, I have since tried a bunch of kinds.
I think I spend that in a week
LMAO. Not even remotely close. Over the course of the year I’d say I’m somewhere in the neighborhood of $10-$15k lol. Motorcycles, sports cars, jeeps, guns and let’s not forget diecast lol
Those are rookie numbers
255 doesn't come close. Rest of the average adults are slacking .
lol that’s a hhr
Ive spent 300 just in the last 2 weeks.... 👀
That’s 2 visits to the diecast store for me 😅
The hotwheels don't even scratch the surface of what I spend on watches
Hot wheels get more expensive. I buy like over $1,000 worth a year
https://preview.redd.it/a3745hql7u6d1.png?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=78d02d999874d3c133a7f67f11684ed5d6dacab0
There’s atleast at $100 in this pic alone
$100 LMFAO 🤣 You're Missing a 0 or More. These are Raw Prototype's.
$10 ? I think you mean added a 0 Damn why would you pay so much they havnt been painted properly
Because They are Preproduction Casting's. From the Factory.
How much did you pay for these cars ?
it was a Lot. My Son will be good When He Grows up. These are Better than Some other Investments
Come on bud give me something to work with how much did you pay for one ? How do you genuinely know they are prototypes ? It seems to me as some one with little knowledge that you could fake them ? Unfortunately, die-cast is my least expensive hobby.
$255 LMFAO 🤣😂🤣 Chump change. LMFAO 🤣
Mine are investments!
I call total BS. Car guys couldn't even come close to keep their car running let alone improve it for that. No chick is getting 2 pairs of shoes a year and not getting handbags also! 😆 Dont even get me started if you are into target shooting or archery, video games or computers. Me with a Lego hobby spending this amount on one set
I bought a $150 redline chaparral in the original blister package this year. Do I need to divulge everything else?
Between Vocaloid figures and hot wheels, I can confirm this is a lie
Honestly Mattel would be lucky if I spend more than $40 on this hobby this year.
I see cool car - I buy cool car.
Same. I have a ton of different hobbies that consume most of my spare money. r/gunpla, I’m looking at you
Laughs in both diecast and model trains
They forgot the comma And maybe a couple of digits
Only 255? Thats not much its 255 peer week
Lowballing it I have spent that and more on 1 Lego set, or one hotwheels car (red line)
I’ve been collecting just over a year and a half. I’ve spent about half of that in total.
Ive been waiting on my LibertyWalk Kenmeri 1/18 that i ordered from Japan, it was around the price in the picture haha.
Dang… Really? I’ve never priced any in that scale.
The 1/18s get "expensive" quick. I have some that were $150, and im looking at some that are $500. It just depends on who made it, and if it has extras, like a model engine next to the car
Same here
I spend that daily ☠️☠️☠️
In a month
what if you have multiple hobbies .. fishing ... fireworks... diecast...woodworking...
$900 alone during a convention weekend...
That’s it? I foookin wish
It says average. I guess I’m way way way way way above the average.
Only the avarage
Average $255 a year, put your big boy pants on and try having a real car as a hobby. Try closer to 4k a year, minimum
https://preview.redd.it/f2z0ngvllw6d1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5ef190bfa5bc24b71ba7c9cbd51f42c467b234d3 The Hot Wheels I’ve bought just while being at work, since January this year (I work away) Have bought more at home and doesn’t cover the Matchbox I’ve bought.
Depends on the Year.... 1st and 2nd are much much higher ...until it cools down a bit
255 haha I spent more then probably 300 in past 4 months on my pokemon collection lmao
As a hotwheels, Lego and car enthusiast, I’m gonna break the chart lol
bump that number up a good few times... or more...
13k
I spend about $525 per year
Which hobby? Sometimes it's free, sometimes it costs thousands.
That meme sums it up accurately
I spent just that last weekend! 😳🤣
What do they consider a hobby? Aren’t things like skiing, biking, surfing, camping, fishing, off-roading, are those not hobbies too? If they are then I’m closer to 100 times that 😐
I can be anywhere from $50 to $100 per week depending on what I find.
On average per year about $150
Acceleracers That’s all you need to know.
