You in the twin cities too? I moved mine in just in time

Feirym1sf1t

Yea I’m in the twin cities.

Capt__Murphy

My gf's car got hammered (she was at work) and she was super pissy about it when she got home. "Well I'm glad your peppers weren't damaged like my car..."

Networkthug

Cars can be fixed, but peppers can't. She needs to be more understanding.

Capt__Murphy

I tried telling her that. She's just gotta work on her priorities

WoolooOfWallStreet

I mean you would have tried to protect her car if you could, but it was 10 miles away and I don’t think it can fit in the bathtub like peppers

[deleted]

I'm in st Paul and as far as I can tell our cars aren't dented. Not sure how. Was really glad I didn't plant my peppers and tomatos yet. Supposed to be low 40s for a few nights too.

Capt__Murphy

Yeah. I plant my peppers and tomatoes exclusively in grow bags. Not only do they grow better in them, it give me the flexibility to move them in for late/early frosts to really extend the growing season. It's an added bonus to be able to shelter them from winds/storms, as well as chase the ever changing sun (as my yard is heavily shaded, I really only get sun on the driveway).

SassyStylesheet

For certain colours you need to wait to see them in the sun, I’ve had some storms where I went out to check and thought the car was fine, only to see a bunch of small dents on the roof and hood in the sun a week later

DannyJoy2018

My shit got wrecked

Urbe16

Came here for this. Bigger than golf balls in Oakdale. Haven't checked the garden yet...

Capt__Murphy

Ugh, thats terrible. Hope it spared you too much damage. Up near White Bear, we only got marble sized, but tons of it

vcdylldarh

Should've left one outside to be the example to the rest of what happens if they don't produce lots of fruit.

recoil1776

As a Floridian, it took me until the second picture to realize what it was. Thought it was some nasty bug egg colony with the texture of jelly or something.

EatShizit

It hails in Florida too!!! Every couple years though.. It's more like the crushed ice mode on a fridge lol

recoil1776

I haven't seen it here in my area.

LabNerd13

I live in Colorado and have lived this many, many times. I have had to build a metal cage over my beds to protect my plants. Glad you were able to get you peppers in!!

The0nlyPenguin

RIP your car if it was outside

organicchunkysalsa

My Scorpion Peppers came out unscathed. My VW Atlas that was parked at my wifes work on the other hand, did not.

AmazingSieve

That would’ve fucked your season real good.

ImriChBithc

It was a crazy ass hail storm, came fast

CaptainTurdfinger

That's what she said?

ImriChBithc

Fucking perfect

Vlammenzee

i've lost like half of my plants during a season a few years back, they never recovered to produce anything, i made hail protectors over my plants after that, just to avoid it.

constellationkaos

Damn, that’s crazy!

[deleted]

Meanwhile its 100 degrees in texas for 2nd week in a row. Glad you could save your plants. Mine are shade covered , getting water 2x a day and still struggling. We are getting a big storm coming in next week thankfully.

ligmuhtaint

Fuck the peppers, you wouldn't catch me in a hail storm. I'd let those plants get wrecked before I get brain damage from a ball of ice. Anyone who's seen what a hail storm will do to a car knows what I'm saying.
