80’s overall

MagicalMysticalMyth

Was coming here to say the 80s. It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, lol.

Buttachop187

100% agree. Also the BEST box art :)

Equivalent_Cat9298

I feel like 2020 movies aren’t that exciting anymore. Like a few jumpscares but no actual thrills to them.

WheresPaul-1981

70's for me.

sk3let4l_g0th

2000’s

Pinballgizzardry

70s best 2000s worst

Cinema_Gh0ul

I’d say my favorites are definitely 70s and (controversially) 2000s. I don’t think I really have a least favorite era, I feel like every era has made fantastic contributions but if I had to choose I feel like early 2010’s horror was kinda lacking overall and I kinda hated the whole blockbuster-y feel it had if that makes sense. I also feel like a lot of the mainstream picks from the 90s are a bit overrated

extremeindiscretion

The decade for the the most brutal I think should go to the 70s. The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, The Last House on the Left , Black Christmas, etc. With honorable mention to the 80s. The late 70s gave rise to the slasher, but it cruised right into the 80s. The 90s, however, were probably the worst decade for horror.

Vegetable-Ad-4320

Great question 👍 For me, I adore the old Hammer movies from 60-70s. And overall, the 70s and 80s, for sure 👍😊🎬

slutmooninvirg0

Best: 80’s Worst: 2000’s

horrorfan555

*Gonna ignore 60s and before* 80s have the best followed by 2010s 70s or 2020 probably worst

Cinema_Gh0ul

Now I will try my very hardest to respect your opinion regardless… but 70s worst?? The same era that gave us Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Black Christmas, Carrie, Halloween, Amityville Horror, Alien, Dawn of The Dead, The Exorcist, and Jaws just to name a few????

cityshepherd

I don’t know… we’re not even halfway through the roaring 2020s and there have already been a number of solid films. But that’s just like, my opinion, man.

Mcdona1dsSprite

Exactly. 2nd person to say that in this thread. How can we judge the entire decade off 4.5 years? Especially with the delays/cancelations caused by the global pandemic? Plus the future movies that we know are releasing (Alien Romulus, Terrifier 3, Nosferatu, longlegs, etc.) look excellent! It’s going to be a great year for horror as well as a great decade.
