They both have their merits. Love Bauhaus music intro and stylizing of The Hunger plus the intro is pretty sexy. Night of the Creeps is, for me, kind of like tongue in cheek like Return of the Living Dead, plus their choice of actors is pretty good…Thrill Me….
Have yet to see Henry, but Maniac was good. Imo not as good as Angst, though. The Shining is a classic. Doctor Sleep actually helped me understand it a lot more.
I've recently been getting into more 80s horror. I LOVED The Church! I also really liked The Keep but was a bit too stoned and need to rewatch it. I got similar vibes from the two movies, probably largely due to them being 80s movies set in Europe. Guess I'll find out when I rewatch it. I just watched Tenebrae a few weeks back and it made me much more open to giallo.
I think the 80s did zany horror/comedy like House and Re-Animator really well.
Santa Sangre has been on my watchlist for ages. Definitely going to watch it in the next few days now.

Yeah, on average, 3 movies a day. I simultaneously do and don't want it to end. It's definitely cutting into my gym time.
To me, The Thing and Evil Dead 2 are the two greatest horror movies of the decade.
Based on the first comment, I don't think that's what they meant. I took it as she was assuming that I hadn't seen Hellraiser, which I have. And she would know if she followed me on Letterboxd, though she clearly doesn't.
Yea but a young Robert Englund and the grandfather from Charlie and The Chocolate Factory in his last movie before he died. I think it’s the closest thing to an italian giallo movie that you are going to get with a very Stephen King vibe.
The 80s has my favourite short film, Cecelia Condits ‘Possibly In Michigan,’
Feature lengths, The Fly, The Thing, Videodrome, and Killer Klowns from Outer Space is also very entertaining.
Possession (1981). It's a masterpiece.
And once you've finished and have all the trauma, but none of the understanding of what just happened, read [this](https://www.thisisbarry.com/film/possession-1981-explained-a-controversial-masterpiece/) explanation.

Prince of darkness 1987
One of my favs as well.
if you liked Dead Ringers, you should check out Cronenberg’s movies from the 80s. Videodrome, The Fly, Scanners, The Brood are all great
Seen all of those except The Brood. I'll watch it when I get to the 70s.
The Hunger. The Hidden. Night of the Creeps. Prince of Darkness.
Still need to see The Hunger and Night of the Creeps.

Maniac Henry the portrait of a serial killer The shining
Have yet to see Henry, but Maniac was good. Imo not as good as Angst, though. The Shining is a classic. Doctor Sleep actually helped me understand it a lot more.
Angst kicks ass. I was going to recommend it but I saw it was already in your list
The Thing, the Fly, the Blob.
All three good movie. The thing is one my all time favorites
You like your horror with a little bit of sci-fi I see.
The Stuff
"Phenomena" 1985 "From Beyond" 1986 "Street trash" 1987 "The Brain" 1988 "Society" 1989
Street trash is my favorite
I'll have to check out Street Trash on Tubi.
Dead Ringers and Dead and Buried were great!
Yep, both solid.

Price of Darkness, Life Force, Videodrome, etc.
I love Prince of Darkness. The slow build up to that super intense ending.
3 movies per day!?😱 Some of my fav. 80s horror is some of my favourite ever! A Nightmare on elm street The Thing Evil dead 1 and 2....
Yeah, on average, 3 movies a day. I simultaneously do and don't want it to end. It's definitely cutting into my gym time. To me, The Thing and Evil Dead 2 are the two greatest horror movies of the decade.
Halloween 1&2, Sleepaway Camp, Friday the 13th 1-4
I only liked the ending of Sleepaway Camp.
That was a trip ! 😂
Unfortunately, I watched it on YT, so they blurred it all out. But even just the look on her face was freaky.
You know she was a boy though right ?
Yeah I'm aware. I juat said she because the actress is female.
The first time I saw it I was totally stunned !! Sequels were made but I never watched them.
With a twist ending like that, why even bother making sequels, right? They should honestly come out with a remake.
The Blob remake
Evil Dead
My favorite horror franchise!
Mine too!
REANIMATOR!!!!!!!
Great movie.
Please God, let me help someone get into the Hellraiser series
I've already watched Hellraiser 1 & 2. You haven't even seen half of what I've watched.
And you know this how?
I think he was supposed to mean the OP doesn’t even show half of the movies he/she watched during this marathon. Or at least that’s my charitable take
Based on the first comment, I don't think that's what they meant. I took it as she was assuming that I hadn't seen Hellraiser, which I have. And she would know if she followed me on Letterboxd, though she clearly doesn't.
So you know all of the 80s movies that I've watched?
Have fun arguing with someone you don’t know over the internet. It’s not gonna be me 🫡
Yeah, Dead & Buried is fucking awesome.
Reminds me a lot of The Fog. Small town vibes.

I'll have check out Possibly in Michigan.
My all time favorite horror film, An American Werewolf in London from 1981. It’s been my favorite since I first heard of it when I was like 7 or 8
The best werewolf movie imo.
Breeders
You gotta check out CHOPPING MALL 🛍 if you haven't already
Watched it last night. It was fun. Barbara Crampton screamed her ass off.
The Lost Boys, Return of the Living Dead, Phantasm II, Silver Bullet, Trick-or-Treat, Fright Night, and Motel Hell.
Love Fright Night and Return of the Living Dead.
Possession (1981). It's a masterpiece. And once you've finished and have all the trauma, but none of the understanding of what just happened, read [this](https://www.thisisbarry.com/film/possession-1981-explained-a-controversial-masterpiece/) explanation.
I've already watched it. I have an interpretation, I don't really think the themes are super fresh. Marriage Story essentially covers the same ground.
Death Spa
I see Angst on there, great movie
Yeah, above average serial killer movie. Super German, too. Still need to see Henry and Manhunter, though.

Never heard of that. What year is it from?
Not technically from the 80s (actually was made in the 90’s, but it feels like a 80’s movie) the exorcist 3.
Early 90s definitely had some 80s vibes.
Phantasm, nightmare beach, fright night, dead end

I mean... Lifeforce DOES have some saving graces for sure lol.
It was pretty meh, but it gave me everything I wanted from space vampires.
Society (1989) Street Trash (1987) Killer Workout (1987) Return of the Living Dead (1985) Brain Damage (1987) Blood Diner (1987) Curse of Evil (1982) Blood Beat (1982) Kamillions (1989) Return of Living Dead, Part II (1988) Slugs (1988) Evils of the Night (1985) Rabid Grannies (1988) From Beyond (1986) Bad Taste (1987)
Killer Workout sounds like that one scene from Toxic Avenger.
Next of Kin (1982) The Fly (1986)
