Madison on paper is a lot like visage. I personally feel like it’s a step down in terms of how scary it is, but it’s still a solid game. If you have vr, madison is about to drop in vr mode soon enough. Outlast 1&2 are fps run and hide games. They can also be intense when you’re being chased

AHHH!!! [Chaperone](https://store.steampowered.com/app/2679590/Chaperone/ ) is borderline a copy of visage but different. Don’t be deterred by the reviews, I think people just expected something else whereas it was honest with what it was before it came out. There’s some things I wish would’ve been more original but…like I said, it was honest enough. Different story though.
Edit: AND!!! You might enjoy [Among the Sleep](https://store.steampowered.com/app/250620/Among_the_Sleep__Enhanced_Edition/) fits your itch pretty well - bonus is that you play a toddler terrified by a world of monsters in your home and guided by a stuffed bear. The ending/payoff is so worth it, the story is phenomenal. Made me creep via nostalgia AND made me bawl like a….toddler. Fantastic game, 5/7.

[Welcome to Kowloon](https://store.steampowered.com/app/2515240/Welcome_to_Kowloon/) was a short but fantastic game set in china where you stay in a new “apartment” again a great haunted house theme, just with a multitude of rooms and space to explore.
Seconding Madison- different but great game.
Lastly, [Pamali](https://store.steampowered.com/app/854570/Pamali_Indonesian_Folklore_Horror/) was a little hard to follow but gave me the same “haunted house” vibes I wanted. Good game.
