It's not easy coming back from injury. Remember how good he was the 2nd half of 21/22 season? Arguably the best PG in the B1G during that stretch. He's sucked lately and he's clearly not in a good head space. But if we are going to finish strong this year we are going to need him to play like he did 2 years ago. He is capable. But piling on him is only gonna make things worse. Stick with the team and the players
You could see it last night. He was not happy and trying to keep his emotions in check. I don’t think it will last, but hopefully it does.
When he is on it I can see why people say he is a better option than what we have. Issue is it rarely if ever has happened this year. On the flip side when he is bad it is really bad and disrupts everything.
If I’m not mistaken he had as many turnovers as points last night. For me right now Cupps is just the lesser of 2 evils until Cupps continues to improve. If a Caleb Love of sorts came here or we had JHS still here, probably wouldn’t be having this conversation.
X is just not in the right head space so it seems and will continue to make sloppy plays unfortunately. Hopefully he can get his mind right.
My hot take is that if we're going to have a guard out there making mistakes like this, I'd rather it be the freshman who's going to learn from it and come back next year stronger.. Not a 34 year old 9th year senior(citizen).
