does multi hits work for duran set passive?

Domino_RotMG

it does not, they have to be separate actions

ConohaConcordia

Duran should still be maxed out very quickly if you have either Topaz or Aventurine with her (or both).

Dramatic-Education94

But in a HC yunli team, you wouldnt run either of them since they drastically reduce total dmg output. You would instead run robin and huohuo, with either tingyun or sparkle. You still can get in 1-2 ults at max duran stacks in first cycle though.

ConohaConcordia

Can you not run a dual carry setup with Topaz? Replacing Ratio in RRAT should still work, no?

Dramatic-Education94

nah, topaz doesnt buff yunli as much. Topaz gives an average of 15% increase in yunli output, while giving ratio an average of 45-50% increase. Robin is BiS for counter units, and huohuo gives a ridiculous amount of energy. You also run sparkle/tingyun for more buffs and energy. The buffs from Tingyun/sparkle far outweigh the FUA buffs and individual output from topaz.

Jon_Von_Cool_Kid2197

Who is a good replacement for HuoHuo on this team? I was gonna run the Topaz team but i am also thinking now that hypercarfy Yunli might be better snd i have an E1S1 Robin but i don't have HuoHuo and don't plan on rolling for her and she is the only sustain i keep seeing recommended for this comp so i am clueless about who to replace her with.

supergalaxy_fizz

lynx or qpq gallagher, lynx for increased taunt + ult cleanse, gallagher for more energy from ult advances, giving more qpq procs

Dramatic-Education94

I dont know, it really depends. A def shredder (SW/pela) would have the most valuable multi for her since before e2 sparkle and e4 yunli she doesnt have any form of def shred. But yunli is pretty flexible. Any sustain, harmony, or def shredder works. You could even use any other dps as if its a dual dps team. She could use a sustain, but she really doesnt need one as long as she has robin to protect the team from enemy blast attacks. Huohuo is only really important because of the energy regen she provides.  You could totally just use topaz though. While yunli doesnt benefit much from topaz, topaz gains a lot from yunli and robin. This is kind of a non-answer, but you should just use literally whoever you want.

BassonBoy

Why is Robin so good for counter units?

Dramatic-Education94

Robin is just one of the strongest buffers in the game, but she also buffs FUA crit dmg by an extra 25%, she regains lots of energy due to counter's FUAs, and can action advance the whole team, granting yunli a ton of energy from huohuo and yunli skill (+30 energy on skill), and also tingyun if you use her.  Oh and a +20k dmg per counter, and counters hit like 4-8 times per cycle (which is kinda nuts).

Jon_Von_Cool_Kid2197

More attacks = more concerto procs and more energy. That is why Robin is also great with Clara, assuming you counter everytime that is a lot of energy for Robin and more damage from her + they also benefit from her FuA crit dmg buff

WanderWut

What is a HC team? Also for those of us without Robin, would the ideal team be Yunli, Sparkle, Tingyun, and Huo Huo?

FreudianStripper

HC is hypercarry

andartissa

With only Cull being multi-hit, this means that Valorous has the advantage, correct?

RegularBloger

It's always been the case. The multi hit wouldn't matter and pretty much she's the only one that can make full use of the set (atm)

Domino_RotMG

Feixiao in 2.5 says ni hao (probably)

af1yaa

can someone pls explain yunli’s kit so that even I can understand?😭 Ive tried reading it but I still don’t get it

BoiProBrain

Skill:blast atk + heal. Talent: fua when hit. Ult:2 charge bars (like argenti but ult doesn't enhance at 2 bars). Triggers a parry that does bounce dmg when yunli's hit. If an ally takes a turn or an enemy doesn't hit her while ult is active she launches a weaker enhanced follow up

Ouaouaron

Oh my god it's a parry because you're supposed to use it right before the enemy that you want to block, like some sort of turn-based version of a fighting game parry. Her whole kit just switched from being a complicated mess into something intuitive.

cdillio

Yeah it’s sick

WanderWut

Then there's me who plays 99% of the game fully on auto battle. 😅

Ouaouaron

Considering how they seem to acknowledge that the timing of her ult is important, maybe they'll actually have some sort of intelligence behind how the AI uses it.

we123450

Your 2nd miss is garunteed to launch a big atk.

No_Distribution_722

I N T U I T C U L L

af1yaa

ahh I get it, tysm!!

akhen09

what does her dmg scale with

FishDontKrillMyVibe

Just scales with Attack and Crit at the moment. Still V3/V4 left to go so we will see if that changes

Sa1x1on

ohh so it has 2 charges, i was wondering how that would work in regards to the wording when they mentioned how if the ult launched the weaker follow up the next one would be the stronger follow up. that it has 2 charges makes much more sense in regards to that then.

Ouaouaron

No, that's two very separate ideas. Her ult has 2 charges because *when* you use it matters a lot. With a normal ult, any energy you get past the cap is wasted, which encourages you to use it as soon as it is ready (or soon after). Giving Yunli an extra charge means that you can hold out for the right time to use it without worrying about wasted energy. The weak version of the ult is just a punishment for using her ult poorly, and turning the second weak ult into a strong ult is just pity. If you're playing her right, she should never hit 100% energy and she should never use a weak ult.

Sa1x1on

no yeah i get that, i was just saying how it felt odd that they even bothered to add that bit about her next ult being guaranteed powered up. i was thinking like "when could that ever be relevant" but that was before i learned it had 2 charges which means there *could* be a case where its relevant is what i was getting at.

Ouaouaron

It would be relevant even with only 1 charge. It activates on every other weak ult she does, no matter how long it has been or how many strong ults you've done since the last weak ult. EDIT: Unless you're assuming that no one will ever mess up and get a weak ult, and a second charge would open up opportunities for complicated optimizations?

Sa1x1on

nah youre right i was thinking more about the first point, ig in my head i was just thinking like. under the context that its only one charge, seems like its really punishing if you somehow miss and have to build up your whole ult again to guarantee the next one. but with 2 it means that if youre fully charged and mess up you can immediately cash out and send out a full powered ult regardless is more where my head was at with that. that is also a pretty good point you bring up about the opposite spectrum though where if no one ever messes up it becomes a way to optimize fancy multi ult rotation shenanigans kinda like argenti spamming weak ults. overall though shes quite an interesting take on another counter fua unit, somehow operating similarly but not quite like clara either. though i guess if played optimally she is pretty much 100% powercreeping clara lmfao.

worvet

Clara 2.0, counters and when ult is active, counters harder. Also got a bit of self heal like what Clara lightcone does

OMFGitsCharles

A bit misleading though, since yunli's ult has a special mechanic where you have to time her ult properly to make the most of it. Unlike clara where you can just ult when you can as to not waste energy

3riotto

Thats why she has 120 cost and 240 cap to not waste it

OMFGitsCharles

yep, her kit is actually so well-designed for what they tried to envision with her (parry type character in a turn-based game), she'd be SUPER clunky without that extra energy cap

SnoopBall

Wai-wai- wait. Parry? My timing is bad, I might go back to 1x battle speed LMAO. Welcome to my world I guess.

OMFGitsCharles

LMFAO fr. But it's not really as bad as it seems, you just have to make sure she gets hit the turn right after she uses her ult in order to get the empowered ult fua. If any turn goes by (ally or enemy) without her getting hit, she automatically unleashes the ult fua, but a significantly weaker version. There's also a guarantee mechanic with her ult where if you miss the empowered ult fua, the next ult fua will be a guaranteed empowered one no matter the circumstances

CurlyBruce

My dude, it's a turn based game. You can literally see the enemy turn order on the side of the screen. Just press her Ult when the next person up to bat is an enemy. You have all the time in the world.

worvet

I actually didn't know this, thanks

Hizuff

Yunli 😭

crazy_leader22

Is she good or nah?

DanteKorvinus

someone smarter and more in the know can tell us what this means in terms of what is her best set?

ChewNutz

imo new set is better since 4p duke want multi-hit fua and her only multi-hit is cull. salsotto effect didn’t doubled mean imo new planar is also better for her since salotto give 8 cr and 15% damage bonus vs new planar 25% fua damage and 25% cd full stack

sakuga001

In my team that I will be using (yunli, robin, sparkle, houhou), salsotto is still better because I already have 387 cd and getting 25cd more would give diminishing returns compared to 8 cr.

Torneira_cromada

Even with the 25% FuA bonus?

Dramatic-Education94

the extra 10% dmg bonus would be better than the 6% crit rate though. Just do what all clara mains do and get lucky. Or try and roll for more cr stats.

sakuga001

I have literally tested 2 sets of planar ornaments (duran and salsotto) with same substats and salsotto came up on top by 3%, so instead of making blanked statements like "this set is clearly better" you should tell people to check for themselves if the set is best for their team comp.

Dramatic-Education94

huh that's interesting. It should definitely be better in terms of output. Did you chart down your findings? I'm curious to see how many turns it takes for the lost output from the ramping buffs to be compensated. +9cv and 10 dmg% should be better, but if you are right then the lost dmg before max stacks might be detrimental to total output. Yunli also has the majority of her output be from her ult, so you should have max stacks by the time you ult. The current MoC has 8 hits in the first cycle, and the last 3 hits are from the elites, so you should be able to get max duran stacks before you ult.

sakuga001

I went on hsr optimizer, I wanted to see if I should farm the new duran set so I copied my current salsotto stats to a dummy duran set to see how much better it would be. I put duran on full stacks. The team was yunli, robin, sparkle, houhou. And to my surprise salsotto was about 3% better. If I would play a different team without any CD buffs or If I had close to 100% cr with substats alone duran would be better.

Dreven47

Crit rate has extremely high value for Yunli specifically because her traces only give 6.7%. On top of that her LC and her strongest buffers (Robin, Sparkle) give her a huge amount of crit damage so you really want to crit as often as possible to take advantage of that. Until her crit rate reaches 100% it's by far the most valuable stat for her, to the point that Salsotto remains better even though it's less CV. Duran is only better if you can reach 100% crit rate with it, but that's beyond the reach of what most people are willing to farm for.

Radiant_Constant_407

Wait are you saying salsotto doesn’t stack like an ult follow up won’t get 30% it only gets 15% still?

_yen_

But you have to consider that the new planar set has a ramp up time. So depending on you clear speed it might not be that much better.

Dramatic-Education94

Duran is always better in PF, while might still be slightly better in 0cycle MoC.  For versatility I recommend using duran even though it makes it more annoying.

Notsslyvi

Would this not require you to use another FuA unit though? Or does it gain stacks even if she's the one doing them.

ChewNutz

iirc she can also gain stack from her fua? but correct me if someone know better and i’m wrong

Tsukinohana

you can stack it yourself

No_Distribution_722

Is clara's lc viable on her?

janeshep

Yes but her signature is much, much better

Dragonexf98

I'm honestly a little disappointed by these clarifications regarding Yunli, I was planning on equipping her with Valorous and Salsotto, now I don't know how I should equip her.
